2 Samuel 23
1 Karon mao kini ang kataposang mga pulong ni David— si David ang anak nga lalaki ni Jese, ang tawo nga labaw nga gipasidunggan, ang tawo nga gidihogan sa Dios ni Jacob, ang matam-is nga Salmista sa Israel.
And these are the last words of David. Thus saith David the son of Jesse, and thus saith the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet singer of Israel:
2 “Ang Espiritu ni Yahweh nakigsulti kanako, ug ang iyang mga pulong ania sa akong dila.
The Spirit of the Lord spoke through me, and his word was upon my tongue.
3 Ang Dios sa Israel nakigsulti kanako, ang Bato sa Israel miingon kanako, 'Ang tawo nga matarong nga magdumala sa mga tawo, nga magdumala nga adunay kahadlok sa Dios.
[Thus] said the God of Israel, concerning me spoke the Rock of Israel, That [I should be] ruler over men, be righteous, ruling in the fear of God;
4 Sama siya sa kahayag sa kabuntagon sa dihang mosubang ang adlaw, ang kabuntagon nga walay mga panganod, sa dihang moturok ang bag-ong sagbot gikan sa yuta pinaagi sa kasanag sa adlaw human sa ulan.
And as in the light of morning the sun riseth, in a morning without clouds, with more than the brightness [reflected] by rain on the herbs that spring from the earth.
5 Sa pagkatinuod, dili ba sama niini ang akong pamilya atubangan sa Dios? Wala ba siya nagbuhat ug malungtaron nga kasugoan kanako, nagmando ug nakasiguro sa matag paagi? Wala ba niya gidugangan ang akong kaluwasan ug gituman ang akong mga pangandoy?
Truly is not so my house with God? since he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, firm in all, and sure? yea, will he not cause to grow all my salvation, and all my desire?
6 Apan ang walay pulos mahisama sa mga tunok nga isalibay lamang, tungod kay dili sila makuptan pinaagi sa usa ka kamot.
But the godless are all of them as waving thorns, which cannot be taken in the hand;
7 Ang tawo nga maggunit kanila kinahanglan nga mogamit ug puthaw o pul-an sa bangkaw. Kinahanglan sunogon sila kung diin sila mapukan.”'
But the man that will touch them must protect his hand with iron and the staff of a spear: and they will be utterly burnt with fire in the dwelling.
8 Mao kini ang ngalan sa mga banggiitan nga mga sundalo ni David: si Jesbaal ang Hakmonihanon mao ang pangulo sa banggiitan nga mga sundalo. Nakapatay siya ug 800 ka mga tawo sa usa lamang ka higayon.
These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Yosheb-bashebeth, the Thachkemonite, the chief among the captains, —the same as 'Adino the 'Eznite, —because of eight hundred slain at one time.
9 Sunod kaniya mao si Elesar ang anak nga lalaki ni Dodo, ang anak nga lalaki sa Ahohihanon, ang usa sa tulo ka banggiitang sundalo ni David. Atua siya didto sa dihang ilang gisuklan ang mga Filistihanon nga nagkahiusa sa pagpakiggubat, ug sa dihang miatras ang mga tawo sa Israel.
And after him was El'azar the son of Dodo, the son of Achochi, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel had withdrawn themselves;
10 Mibarog si Elesar ug nakiggubat sa mga Filistihanon hangtod nga gikapuyan na ang iyang kamot ug ang iyang kamot hugot nga migunit sa pul-an sa iyang espada. Nagdala si Yahweh ug dakong kadaugan nianang adlawa. Ang kasundalohan namalik sunod kang Elesar, aron hukasan ang mga lawas sa mga gamit.
He then arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand did cleave unto the sword: and the Lord wrought a great victory on that day; and the people returned after him only to strip [the slain].
11 Sunod kaniya mao si Sama ang anak nga lalaki ni Age, ang taga-Hara. Ang mga Filistihanon nagtigom didto sa kaumahan sa mga balatong, ug ang kasundalohan mikalagiw gikan kanila.
And after him was Shammah the son of Age the Hararite. The Philistines were gathered together into a troop, and there was a piece of ground full of lentiles; and the people had fled from the Philistines;
12 Apan mitindog si Sama sa tunga sa uma ug gipanalipdan kini. Gipatay niya ang mga Filistihanon, ug nagdala si Yahweh ug dakong kadaugan.
But he placed himself in the midst of the ground, and delivered it, and smote the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.
13 Tulo sa 30 ka mga sundalo milugsong ngadto kang David sa panahon sa ting-ani, didto sa langub sa Adulam. Ang kasundalohan sa Filistihanon nagkampo sa walog sa Repaim.
And these three, the chiefs of the thirty, went down, and came to David at harvest-time unto the cave of 'Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 Niadtong panahona si David anaa sa iyang taguanan, usa ka langub, samtang ang mga Filistihanon nagkuta didto sa Betlehem.
And David was then in the strong-hold, and an outpost of the Philistines was then in Beth-lechem.
15 Nangandoy si David ug tubig ug miingon, “Kung aduna lamang untay mohatag ug tubig kanako aron makainom gikan sa atabay sa Betlehem, ang atabay nga anaa tupad sa ganghaan!”
And David longed, and said, Oh that one would bring me water to drink out of the well at Beth-lechem, which is by the gate!
16 Busa kining tulo ka banggiitang mga sundalo midasdas latas sa kasundalohan sa mga Filistihanon ug mikalos sa tubig gikan sa atabay sa Betlehem, ang atabay nga duol sa ganghaan. Mikuha sila ug tubig ug gidala kini ngadto kang David, apan midumili siya sa pag-inom niini. Hinuon, gibubo niya kini ngadto kang Yahweh.
And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines; and drew water out of the well of Beth-lechem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but he would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.
17 Unya miingon siya, “Yahweh, ipalayo unta kini gikan kanako, nga kinahanglan nga ako kining buhaton. Kinahanglan ba nga moinom ako sa dugo sa katawhan nga nagbuhis sa ilang mga kinabuhi?” Busa midumili siya sa pag-inom niini. Kining mga butanga gihimo sa tulo ka mga banggiitan.
And he said, Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this: [is not this] the blood of the men that went at the risk of their life? and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
18 Si Abisai, ang igsoon ni Joab ug anak nga lalaki ni Zeruya, nga mao ang kapitan kanilang tulo. Nakiggubat siya gamit ang iyang bangkaw batok sa 300 ka mga kalalakin-an ug gipamatay sila.
And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruyah, was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.
19 Kanunay siyang gihisgutan uban sa tulo ka sundalo. Dili ba siya ang mas bantogan kaysa sa tulo? Gihimo nila siyang kapitan. Apan ang iyang kabantogan dili sama sa tulo ka mga bantogang mga sundalo.
Although he was the most honored of the three, wherefore he became their captain: he nevertheless attained not unto the three [in prowess].
20 Si Benaias nga gikan sa Kabseel mao ang anak nga lalaki ni Joyada; kusgan siya nga tawo nga nagbuhat ug dagkong mga buhat. Gipatay niya ang duha ka mga anak nga lalaki ni Ariel sa Moab. Milugsong usab siya didto sa gahong sa Moab ug gipatay ang liyon samtang naganiyebe.
And Benayahu the son of Yehoyada', the son of a valiant man, great in many acts of Kabzeel; he it was that smote the two lion-like heroes of Moab; he also went down and slew a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed;
21 Unya gipatay usab niya ang dako kaayo nga tawo sa Ehipto. Ang Ehiptohanon nga adunay bangkaw sa iyang kamot, apan si Benaias nakig-away batok kaniya uban sa usa lamang ka sungkod. Giilog niya ang bangkaw gikan sa kamot sa Ehiptohanon ug unya gipatay siya pinaagi sa kaugalingon niyang bangkaw.
And he slew an Egyptian, a man of good appearance; and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Si Benaias ang anak nga lalaki ni Joyada naghimo niining mga butanga, ug ginganlan siya kauban sa tulo ka banggiitan nga mga tawo.
These things did Benayahu the son of Yehoyada', and he had a name among the three mighty men.
23 Tinahod siya labaw pa sa kinatibuk-ang 30 ka mga sundalo, apan dili siya tinahod sama sa tulo ka mga banggiitan nga mga sundalo. Bisan pa man niana gibutang siya ni David ingon nga pangulo sa iyang tigbantay.
He was more honored than the thirty; but he attained not to these three. And David appointed him in his private council.
24 Ang 30 ka mga kalalakin-an mao ang mosunod: si Asahel nga igsoong lalaki ni Joab, si Elhanan ang anak nga lalaki ni Dodo nga gikan sa Betlehem,
'Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lechem,
25 Si Sama nga taga-Harod, si Elika ang taga-Harod,
Shammah the Charodite, Elika the Charodite,
26 Si Heles ang taga-Palti, si Ira ang anak nga lalaki ni Ikes ang taga-Tekot,
Chelez the Paltite, 'Ira the son of 'Ikkesh the Teko'ite,
27 si Abi Eser ang taga-Anatot, si Mebunai ang taga-Huhat,
Abi'ezer the 'Anethothite, Mebunnai the Chushathite,
28 si Salmon ang taga-Ahot, si Maharai ang taga-Netop;
Zalmon the Achochite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 si Heleb ang anak nga lalaki ni Baana, nga taga-Netop, si Itai ang anak nga lalaki ni Ribai nga gikan sa Gibeah nga taga-Benjamin,
Cheleb the son of Ba'anah, the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gib'ah of the children of Benjamin,
30 si Benaia ang taga- Piraton, si Hidai sa mga walog sa Gaas.
Benayahu the Pir'athonite, Hiddai of Nachale-Ga'ash,
31 si Abialbon ang taga-Arbat, si Asmabet nga taga-Barhumit,
Abi-'albon the 'Arbathite, 'Azmaveth the Barchumite,
32 si Eliaba ang taga-Salbon, ang anak nga lalaki ni Jasen, si Jonatan ang anak nga lalaki ni Sama ang taga-Hararit;
Elyachba the Sha'albonite, Bne-yashen, Jonathan,
33 si Ahiam ang anak nga lalaki ni Sarar ang taga-Hararit,
Shammah the Hararite, Achiam the son of Sharar the Ararite,
34 si Elipelet ang anak nga lalaki ni Ahabai ang Maacatite, si Elam ang anak nga lalaki ni Ahitopel ang taga-Gilon,
Eliphelet the son of Achasbai, the son of the Ma'achathite, Eli'am the son of Achithophel the Gilonite,
35 si Hesro ang taga-Carmilita, si Paarai ang taga-Arbit,
Chezrai, the Carmelite, Pa'arai the Arbite,
36 si Igal ang anak nga lalaki ni Natan nga gikan sa Zoba, si Bani nga gikan sa tribo ni Gad,
Yigal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37 si Selek ang taga-Amon, si Naharai ang taga-Berot, nga tigdala ug hinagiban ni Joab ang anak nga lalaki ni Seruias,
Zelek the 'Ammonite, Nacharai the Beerothite, the armor-bearer of Joab the son of Zeruyah,
38 si Ira ang taga-Itrit, si Gareb ang taga-Itrite,
'Ira the Yithrite, Gareb the Yithrite,
39 si Uraya ang taga-Hiti—37 silang tanan.
Uriyah the Hittite: in all thirty and seven.
