2 Samuel 16
1 Sa dihang nakalakaw na si David sa dili pa tantong layo, lampas sa tumoy sa bungtod, misugat kaniya si Ziba ang sulugoon ni Mefiboset uban sa paris nga mga asno nga adunay sakang; diha kanila adunay 200 ka buok nga tinapay, 100 sa linain nga mga pasas, ug 100 ka pungpong sa igos, ug panit nga gisudlan ug bino.
And when David had passed a little beyond the top of the mountain, Ziba, the servant of Mephibosheth, appeared to meet him, with two donkeys, which were burdened with two hundred loaves, and one hundred bunches of dried grapes, and one hundred masses of dried figs, and a skin of wine.
2 Ang hari miingon kang Ziba, “Nganong gidala mo man kining mga butanga?” Mitubag si Ziba, “Ang mga asno mahimong kasakyan sa panimalay sa hari, ang tinapay ug tinapay nga adunay igos alang sa pagkaon sa imong katawhan, ug ang bino aron adunay mainom alang kang bisan kinsa nga maluya didto sa kamingawan.”
And the king said to Ziba, “What do you intend to do with these things?” And Ziba responded: “The donkeys are for the household of the king, so that they may sit. And the loaves and dried figs are for your servants to eat. But the wine is for anyone to drink who may be faint in the desert.”
3 Miingon ang hari, “Ug hain man ang apo sa imong agalon?” Mitubag si Ziba sa hari, “Tan-awa, nagpuyo siya duol sa Jerusalem, tungod kay miingon siya, 'Karong adlawa iuli sa panimalay sa Israel ang gingharian sa akong amahan kanako.”
And the king said, “Where is the son of your lord?” And Ziba answered the king: “He remained in Jerusalem, saying, ‘Today, the house of Israel will restore the kingdom of my father to me.’”
4 Unya miingon ang hari kang Ziba, “Tan-awa, ang tanan nga iya ni Mefiboset gipanag-iya na nimo.” Mitubag si Ziba, “Mohapa ako sa pagpaubos kanimo, akong agalon, ang hari. Tugoti ako nga makakaplag ug pabor sa imong panan-aw.”
And the king said to Ziba, “All the things which were for Mephibosheth are now yours.” And Ziba said, “I beg you that I may find grace before you, my lord the king.”
5 Sa dihang miabot si David sa Bahurim, didto migawas ang usa ka tawo nga gikan sa banay ni Saul, nga ginganlan ug Simei ang anak nga lalaki ni Gera. Migawas siya nga nagpunay ug tunglo samtang naglakaw.
Then king David went as far as Bahurim. And behold, a man from the kindred of the house of Saul, named Shimei, the son of Gera, went out from there. And going out, he continued on, and he was cursing,
6 Gibato niya si David ug ngadto usab sa tanang mga opisyal, bisan pag adunay mga kasundalohan ug mga guwardiya nga anaa sa tuo ug wala sa hari.
and throwing stones against David and against all the servants of king David. And all the people and all the warriors were traveling to the right and to the left sides of the king.
7 Nagpunay ug singgit sa pagtunglo si Simei, “Palayo, hawa nganhi, ikaw nga daotan, ikaw nga mipatay ug daghang tawo!
And so, as he was cursing the king, Shimei said: “Go away, go away, you man of blood, and you man of Belial!
8 Gipanimaslan kamong tanan ni Yahweh sa tanang dugo sa pamilya ni Saul, nga imong giilogan ug gingharian. Gihatag ni Yahweh ang gingharian ngadto sa kamot sa imong anak nga si Absalom. Ug karon mapukan ka tungod kay mipatay ka ug daghang tawo.”
The Lord has repaid you for all the blood of the house of Saul. For you have usurped the kingdom in place of him. And so, the Lord has given the kingdom into the hand of Absalom, your son. And behold, your evils press close upon you, because you are a man of blood.”
9 Unya miiingon sa hari si Abisai nga anak ni Seruia, “Nganong kining patay nga iro nagtunglo man sa akong agalon nga hari? Palihog tugoti ako sa pag-adto kaniya aron nga mapunggotan ko siya ug ulo.”
Then Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, said to the king: “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go and cut off his head.”
10 Apan miingon ang hari, “Unsa may nabuhat ko kaninyo, mga anak nga lalaki ni Seruia? Gitunglo tingali niya ako tungod kay si Yahweh maoy miingon kaniya, 'Tungloha si David.' Karon kinsa may makaingon kaniya, 'Nganong gitunglo mo man ang hari?'”
And the king said: “What is it to me and to all of you, O sons of Zeruiah? Permit him, so that he may curse. For the Lord has commanded him to curse David. And who is the one who would dare to say, ‘Why has he done so?’”
11 Busa miingon si David kang Abisai ug ngadto sa tanan niyang mga sulugoon, “Tan-awa, ang akong anak, nga gipakatawo gikan sa akong lawas, buot mokuha sa akong kinabuhi. Unsa pa kaha kini nga Benjaminhon karon nga nagtinguha sa akong pagkapukan? Pasagdi siya ug tugoti sa pagtunglo, tungod kay gisugo siya ni Yahweh sa pagbuhat niini.
And the king said to Abishai and to all his servants: “Behold, my son, who went forth from my loins, is seeking my life. How much more does a son of Benjamin do so now? Permit him, so that he may curse, in accord with the command of the Lord.
12 Basin pagmakita ni Yahweh ang kagul-anan nga ania kanako, ug baslan ako ug maayo tungod sa iyang pagtunglo kanako karon.”
Perhaps the Lord may look with favor upon my affliction, and the Lord may repay me good, in place of the cursing of this day.”
13 Busa mipadayon ug panaw si David ug ang iyang mga katawhan, samtang si Simei miuban tupad kaniya hangtod sa kilid sa bungtod, nagtunglo ug nanglabay ug abog ug mga bato kaniya samtang naglakaw.
And so, David continued walking along the way, and his associates with him. But Shimei was advancing along the ridge of the mountain on the side opposite him, cursing and throwing stones at him, and scattering dirt.
14 Unya ang hari ug ang tanang katawhan nga miuban kaniya gipangkapoy, ug nagpahulay siya sa dihang mihunong sila alang sa kagabhion.
And the king and the entire people with him, being weary, went and refreshed themselves there.
15 Samtang si Absalom ug ang tanang katawhan sa Israel nga uban kaniya, miabot sila sa Jerusalem, ug uban kaniya si Ahitofel.
But Absalom and all his people entered into Jerusalem. Moreover, Ahithophel was with him.
16 Nahitabo kini sa dihang si Husai nga Arkihanon, nga higala ni David miadto kang Absalom, ug si Husai miingon kang Absalom, “Mabuhi ang hari! Mabuhi ang hari!”
And when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had gone to Absalom, he said to him: “May you be well, O king! May you be well, O king!”
17 Miingon si Absalom kang Husai, “Mao ba kini ang imong pagkamaunongon sa imong higala? Nganong wala ka man miuban kaniya?”
And Absalom said to him: “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”
18 Miingon si Husai kang Absalom, “Dili! Hinuon, kadtong gipili ni Yahweh ug niining mga tawo ug sa tanang katawhan sa Israel, nianang tawhana ako mahisakop, ug magpabilin ako kaniya.
And Hushai responded to Absalom: “By no means! For I will be his, whom the Lord has chosen. And I, and all this people, and all of Israel, will remain with him.
19 Ug usab, kinsa man ang tawo nga akong alagaran? Dili ba mag-alagad man ako sa iyang anak? Sama sa akong pag-alagad sa imong amahan, alagaran ko ikaw.”
But then too, I declare this: whom should I serve? Is it not the son of the king? Just as I have been subject to your father, so will I be subject to you also.”
20 Unya miingon si Absalom kang Ahitofel, “Hatagi kami ug tambag kung unsa ang among buhaton.”
Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Present a counsel as to what we ought to do.”
21 Mitubag si Ahitofel kang Absalom, “Lakaw ug pakigdulog sa mga ulipong puyopuyo sa imong amahan nga gibilin niya aron sa pag-atiman sa palasyo, ug makadungog ang tanang Israel nga nahimo kang baho sa imong amahan. Ug ang tanang kamot sa mga mikuyog kanimo malig-on.”
And Ahithophel said to Absalom: “Enter to the concubines of your father, whom he left behind in order to care for the house. Thus, when all of Israel will hear that you disgraced your father, their hands may be strengthened with you.”
22 Busa nagbukhad sila ug tolda alang kang Absalom ngadto sa atop sa palasyo, ug nakigdulog si Absalom sa mga ulipong asawa sa iyang amahan atubangan sa tanang tawo sa Israel.
Therefore, they spread a tent for Absalom on the rooftop. And he entered to the concubines of his father in the sight of all Israel.
23 Karon ang tambag ni Ahitofel nga iyang gihatag niadtong mga adlawa ingon sa usa ka tawo nga nakadungog gikan mismo sa baba sa Dios. Mao kana ang pagtan-aw ni David ug ni Absalom sa tanang tambag ni Ahitofel.
Now the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was treated as if one were consulting God. So was every counsel of Ahithophel, both when he was with David, and when he was with Absalom.
