2 Samuel 15

1 Nahitabo kini human nga si Absalom nangandam ug karwahe ug mga kabayo alang sa iyang kaugalingon, uban sa 50 ka mga lalaki nga modagan una kaniya.

And it came to pass after this, that Abshalom provided for himself a chariot and horses, and fifty men who ran before him.

2 Mobangon si Absalom sayo sa buntag ug magtindog kilid sa dalan nga paingon sa ganghaan sa siyudad. Sa dihang may tawo ang adunay kaso ug moadto sa hari alang sa paghukom, tawgon siya ni Absalom ug ingnan, “Asang siyudara ka man gikan?” Unya motubag ang tawo nga, “Ang imong sulugoon gikan sa usa sa mga tribo sa Israel.”

And Abshalom rose up early, and stood on the side of the way to the gate: and it happened, that whenever a man who had a controversy came to the king for judgment, Abshalom called to him, and said, From what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is from one of the tribes of Israel.

3 Busa moingon si Absalom kaniya, “Tan-awa, maayo ug husto ang imong kaso, apan walay bisan usa nga gihatagan ug katungod sa hari aron mamati sa imong kaso.”

And Abshalom said unto him, See, thy words are good and right; but no one listeneth to thee on the part of the king.

4 Midugang pa gayod si Absalom, “Naghandom ako nga mahimo akong maghuhukom sa yuta, aron ang si bisan kinsang tawo nga adunay panagbingkil o kaso makaduol kanako, ug mahatagan ko siya ug hustisya!”

And Abshalom said, Oh, if there were but one to appoint me judge in the land, so that every man who may have any controversy or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

5 Busa nahitabo kini sa dihang ang si bisan kinsang tawo moduol kang Absalom aron sa pagpasidungog kaniya, itunol ni Absalom ang iyang kamot ug gakson ug hagkan siya.

And it happened, that when a man came nigh to bow down to him, he used to put forth his hand, and laid hold of him, and kissed him.

6 Gibuhat kini ni Absalom sa tanang Israelita nga moduol sa hari alang sa paghukom. Busa gikawat ni Absalom ang kasingkasing sa katawhan sa Israel.

And Abshalom did after this manner to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: and thus did Abshalom steal the heart of the men of Israel.

7 Miabot ang panahon sa kataposan sa ikaupat nga tuig, miingon si Absalom sa hari, “Palihog tugoti ako sa pag-adto ug pagbayad saad nga akong gihimo ngadto kang Yahweh didto sa Hebron.

And it came to pass at the end of forty years, that Abshalom said unto the king, Let me go, I pray thee, and fulfill my vow, which I have vowed unto the Lord, at Hebron.

8 Kay naghimo ug panaad ang imong sulugoon samtang nagpuyo pa ako sa Gesur didto sa Aram, miingon ako, 'Kung dad-on ako pag-usab ni Yahweh sa Jerusalem, simbahon ko si Yahweh.”

For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the Lord will ever bring me back again to Jerusalem, then will I serve the Lord.

9 Busa miingon ang hari kaniya, “Lakaw nga malinawon.” Busa mitindog si Absalom ug miadto sa Hebron.

And the king said unto him, Go in peace: and he arose, and went to Hebron.

10 Apan nagpadala usab si Absalom ug mga tigpaniid sa tibuok katribohan sa Israel, nga nag-ingon, “Sa takna nga madungog ninyo ang lanog sa trumpeta, kinahanglan kamong moingon, 'Si Absalom ang hari sa Hebron.'”

But Abshalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, When ye hear the sound of the cornet, then shall ye say, Abshalom is become king at Hebron.

11 Uban kang Absalom ang 200 ka mga tawo nga gikan sa Jerusalem, nga mga dinapit. Miuban sila nga wala masayod sa bisan unsang gilaraw ni Absalom.

And with Abshalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, who were invited, and going in their simplicity; and they knew of nothing whatever.

12 Samtang naghalad si Absalom sa mga halad, gipakuha niya si Ahitofel gikan sa iyang lungsod sa Gilo. Magtatambag siya ni David. Milig-on ang pundok ni Absalom batok kang David, tungod kay padayon nga nagkadaghan ang mga tawo nga misunod kang Absalom.

And Abshalom sent for Achithophel the Gilomite, David's counsellor, from his city, from Giloh, while he offered the sacrifices. And the conspiracy became strong; and the people increased continually with Abshalom.

13 Usa ka mensahero ang miadto kang David ug miingon: “Ang kasingkasing sa mga tawo sa Israel nagsunod kang Absalom.”

And there came a news-bearer to David, saying, the heart of the men of Israel is turned after Abshalom.

14 Busa miingon si David sa tanan niyang mga sulugoon nga anaa sa Jerusalem uban kaniya, “Tindog ug mokalagiw kita, o walay bisan usa kanato ang makaikyas gikan kang Absalom. Pangandam kamo aron sa pagbiya dayon, o maapsan kita niya, ug magdala siyag dakong kadaot kanato ug sulongon ang siyudad pinaagi sa sulab sa espada.”

And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for there will not [else] be any escape for us from Abshalom: make haste, to depart, lest he make haste and overtake us suddenly and overwhelm us with evil, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

15 Ang mga sulugoon sa hari miingon, “Tan-awa, andam ang imong mga sulugoon sa pagbuhat sa bisan unsang ipabuhat sa hari.”

And the king's servants said unto the king, In accordance with all that my Lord the king may choose, are thy servants ready.

16 Mibiya ang hari ug miuban kaniya ang iyang tibuok pamilya, apan gibilin sa hari ang napulo ka mga babaye, nga iyang mga puyopuyo, aron sa pag-atiman sa palasyo.

And the king went forth, and all his household in his train. And the king left behind ten women, who were concubines, to guard the house.

17 Human makagawas ang hari ug ang tanang mga tawo nga nagsunod kaniya, mihunong sila sa kataposang balay.

And the king went forth, and all the people in his train, and tarried in a place that was far off.

18 Nagmartsa uban kaniya ang tanan niyang mga kasundalohan, ug nag-una uban kaniya ang tanang Keretihanon, ug ang tanang Peletihanon, ug tanang Gittihanon—600 ka mga tawo ang mikuyog kaniya gikan sa Gat.

And all his servants passed on alongside of him, and all the Kerethites, and all the Pelethites; and all the Gittites, six hundred men, who were come in his train from Gath, passed on before the king.

19 Unya miingon ang hari kang Itai nga Gittihanon, “Nganong mouban man usab kamo kanamo? Balik ug puyo uban sa hari, tungod kay langyaw ka ug walay puluy-anan. Balik sa imong kaugalingong dapit.

Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore wilt thou also go with us? turn back and abide with the king; for thou art a stranger, and also an exile from thy place.

20 Sanglit mibiya ka pa man kagahapon, nganong himoon ko man ikaw nga maglatagaw hangtod sa hangtod uban kanamo? Wala man gani ako masayod kung asa ako moadto. Busa balik ug dalha ang imong isig ka tagilungsod. Hinaot nga ang pagkamatinud-anon ug pagkamaunongon magauban kanimo.”

Yesterday thou camest; and today should I move thee about with us to wander? seeing that I go whither I may: return thou, and take back thy brethren with thee, in kindness and truth.

21 Apan mitubag si Itai sa hari ug miingon, “Ingon nga buhi si Yahweh, ug ingon nga buhi ang akong agalon nga hari, sigurado nga bisan asang dapit moadto ang akong agalong hari, didto usab moadto ang imong sulugoon, bisan pa kung mabuhi o mamatay.”

And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the Lord liveth, and as my Lord the king liveth, surely in whatever place my Lord the king may be, whether for death or for life, even there will thy servant be.

22 Busa miingon si David kang Itai, “Pag-una ug padayon uban kanamo.” Busa milakaw si Itai nga Gittihanon uban sa hari, uban sa tanan niyang mga tawo ug sa tanang pamilya nga mikuyog kaniya.

And David said then to Ittai, Go and pass on. And Ittai the Gittite passed on, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.

23 Mihilak ug kusog ang tanang taga-lungsod samtang nanabok sa Walog sa Kidron ang katawhan, ug mitabok usab ang hari. Ang tanang tawo mipanaw sa dalan paingon sa kamingawan.

And all the [people of the] country wept with a loud voice, as all the people passed on: and the king passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, along the way to the wilderness.

24 Bisan si Sadok uban sa tanang mga Levita, nga nagpas-an sa sudlanan sa kasabotan sa Dios, atua usab didto. Ilang giandam ang sudlanan sa kasabotan sa Dios aron ipakanaog, ug miapil si Abiatar kanila. Ilang gipaabot nga makalabay na ang mga tawo pagawas sa siyudad.

And lo, Zadok also, and all the Levites with him, were bearing the ark of the covenant of God; and they set down the ark of God; and Ebyathar went up, until all the people had finished passing out of the city.

25 Miingon ang hari kang Sadok, “Pas-ana pagbalik ang sudlanan sa kasabotan sa Dios ngadto sa siyudad. Kung makakaplag ako ug kaluoy sa panan-aw ni Yahweh, dalhon niya ako pagbalik nganhi ug ipakita kanako pag-usab ang sudlanan sa kasabotan ug sa dapit diin siya nagpuyo.

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city; if I shall find favor in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me back again, and show me both it, and his dwelling;

26 Apan kung moingon siya, 'Wala ako mahimuot kanimo,' tan-awa, ania ako, tugoti siya sa pagbuhat nganhi kanako sa bisan unsang maayo sa iyang panan-aw.”

But if he should thus say, I have no delight in thee: here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good in his eyes.

27 Miingon usab ang hari ngadto kang Sadok nga pari, “Dili ba tigpaniid ka man? Balik nga malinawon ngadto sa siyudad, uban sa imong duha ka mga anak nga lalaki, si Ahimaas nga imong anak ug si Jonatan nga anak ni Abiatar.

The king said also unto Zadok the priest, If thou see the justice of this, return to the city in peace: and your two sons, Achima'az thy son, and Jonathan the son of Ebyathar, are with you.

28 Tan-awa, maghulat ako didto sa tabokanan sa Araba hangtod nga moabot ang pulong gikan kanimo aron sa pagpahibalo kanako.”

See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to bring me news.

29 Busa gidala pagbalik ni Sadok ug Abiatar ang sudlanan sa kasabotan sa Dios ngadto sa Jerusalem, ug nagpabilin sila didto.

Zadok therefore and Ebyathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they remained there.

30 Apan misubida si David nga nagtiniil ug naghilak paingon sa Bukid sa mga Olibo, ug gitabonan niya ang iyang ulo. Ang matag lalaki sa katawhan nga uban kaniya nagtabon sa iyang ulo, ug nanghilak sila nga nagsubida.

And David went up by the ascent of the mount of Olives, weeping as he went up, and had his head covered, and he was walking barefoot: and all the people that were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.

31 Adunay usa ka tawo nga miingon kang David, “Si Ahitofel usa sa mga naglaraw uban kang Absalom.” Busa nag-ampo si David, “O Yahweh, palihog himoang binuang ang mga tambag ni Ahitofel.”

And some one told David, saying, Achithophel is among the conspirators with Abshalom. And David said, I pray thee, turn into foolishness the counsel of Achithophel, O Lord!

32 Nahitabo kini sa dihang nakaabot na si David sa ibabaw sa dalan, diin kasagarang ginasimba ang Dios, mitagbo kaniya si Husai nga Arkihanon sul-ob ang gising bisti ug adunay yuta sa iyang ulo.

And it came to pass, that, when David was come to the top, where he used to bow himself down to God, behold, Chushai the Arkite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head.

33 Miingon si David kaniya, “Kung mopanaw ka uban kanako, mahimo ka lamang nga pabug-at kanako.

And David said unto him, If thou passest on with me, thou wouldst be a burden unto me;

34 Apan kung mobalik ka sa siyudad ug moingon kang Absalom, 'Mahimo mo akong sulugoon, hari, ingon nga sulugoon ako sa imong amahan kaniadto, karon mahimo mo akong sulugoon,' pinaagi niana malibog mo ang tambag ni Ahitofel alang kanako.

But if thou shouldst return to the city, and say unto Abshalom, Thy servant will I be, O king; thy father's servant have I been this long time past, and now will I also be thy servant: then mightest thou defeat for me the counsel of Achithophel.

35 Ug dili ba uban man nimo didto si Sadok ug si Abiatar nga mga pari? Busa bisan unsa nga imong madungog sa palasyo sa hari, kinahanglan mo kining isulti kang Sadok ug Abiatar nga mga pari.

And, behold, thou hast with thee there Zadok and Ebyathar the priests; therefore shall it be, that what thing soever thou mayest hear out of the king's house, shalt thou tell to Zadok and Ebyathar the priests.

36 Tan-awa uban kanila ang duha nila ka mga anak nga lalaki, si Ahimaas nga anak ni Sadok, ug si Jonatan nga anak ni Abiatar. Kinahanglan mong ipadala kanako pinaagi sa ilang kamot ang tanan mong madungog.”

Behold, they have there with them their two sons. Achima'az for Zadok, and Jonathan for Ebyathar: and ye shall send by means of them unto me whatever thing ye can hear.

37 Busa si Husai, nga higala ni David, miabot sa siyudad samtang miabot si Absalom ug misulod didto sa Jerusalem.

So Chushai, David's friend, came into the city, as Abshalom had just resolved to enter into Jerusalem.
