1 Timoteo 2
1 Busa una sa tanan, nag-awhag ako pag-ayo nga maghangyo, mag-ampo, mangamuyo, ug magpasalamat kamo alang sa tanan nga mga tawo,
I exhort therefore first of all to be made entreaties, prayers intercessions, [and] thanksgivings on behalf of all men,
2 alang sa mga hari ug sa tanan nga adunay gahum, aron malinawon ug hilom ang atong pagkinabuhi nga disonon sa tanan ug adunay dignindad.
for kings and all those in authority being, so that a tranquil and quiet life we may lead in all godliness and in [all] dignity.
3 Kini maayo ug madawat sa Dios nga atong Manluluwas.
This (for *k*) [is] good and acceptable before the Savior of us God,
4 Buot niya nga ang tanang mga tawo maluwas ug makahibalo sa kamatuoran.
who all men desires to be saved and to [the] knowledge of [the] truth to come.
5 Kay usa ra ang Dios, ug usa ra ang tigpataliwala sa Dios ug sa tawo, nga mao ang tawo nga si Cristo Jesus,
One for God [there is], one then mediator between God and men, [the] man Christ Jesus
6 nga naghatag sa iyang kaugalingon nga tubos alang sa tanan, ang saksi sa sakto nga panahon.
the [One] having given Himself [as] a ransom for all, the testimony proper times in [their] own,
7 Tungod niini nga tuyo, ako, mismo, nahimo nga mantala ug apostol. Gasulti ako sa kamatuoran; wala ako mamakak. Magtutudlo ako sa mga Gentil sa pagtuo ug kamatuoran.
in regard to which was appointed I myself a herald and an apostle — [the] truth I am speaking (in Christ *K*) not I do lie — a teacher of [the] Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Busa, buot nako nga ang mga lalaki sa tanang dapit mag-ampo ug magtaas sa ilang putling mga kamot nga walay kapungot ug duhaduha.
I desire therefore to pray the men in every place lifting up holy hands apart from anger and (dissension; *NK(O)*)
9 Mao sad sa mga babaye buot nako nga magsinina ug tarong, nga dili law-ay ug magapugong sa ilang kaugalingon, dili sa mga buhok nga sinapid, o pagsul-ob sa mga bulawan, o perlas, o mahal nga mga sinina,
likewise also (*k*) women in apparel respectable with modesty and self-control adorning themselves, not with braided hair (or with gold *N(k)O*) or with pearls or with clothing costly,
10 kondili pinaagi sa angay sa mga babaye nga magpaila sa ilang pagkadiosnon pinaagi sa maayong mga buluhaton.
but with what is becoming to women professing [the] fear of God, through works good.
11 Ang babaye kinahanglan magtuon sa paghilom ug magtuman sa tanan.
A woman in quietness should learn in all submissiveness;
12 Dili nako tugutan nga ang babaye motudlo ug magmando sa lalaki, kondili maghilom lang.
To teach however a woman not I do permit nor to use authority over a man but to be in quietness.
13 Kay si Adan mao ang una nga giporma, ug unya dayon si Eba.
Adam for first was formed, then Eve.
14 Ug si Adan wala nailad, apan ang babaye nailad pag-ayo sa kalapasan.
And Adam not was deceived, but the woman (having been deceived *N(k)O*) into transgression has come;
15 Bisan pa niini, maluwas siya pinaagi sa pagpanganak, kung magpadayon sila sa pagtuoug paghigugma ug pagkabalaan nga adunay maayong paghunahuna.
She will be saved however through childbearing if they shall abide in faith and in love and in holiness with self-restraint.
