1 Cronicas 21
1 Miabot ang kaaway batok sa Israel ug nag-aghat kang David nga ihapon ang Israel.
And the Accuser stood up against Israel, and incited David to count Israel.
2 Miingon si David kang Joab ug sa mga komandante sa kasundalohan, “Lakaw ug ihapa ang katawhan sa Israel gikan sa Barsheba hangtod sa Dan ug sultihi ako sa imong pagbalik, aron masayran ko ang ilang gidaghanon.”
And David said to Joab, and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba' even to Dan, and bring their number to me, that I may know it.
3 Miingon si Joab, “Himoon unta ni Yahweh ang iyang mga kasundalohan sa gatosan ka pilo labaw pa niini. Apan agalon kong hari, dili ba nag-alagad man silang tanan kanimo? Nganong buot man sa akong agalon nga ipabuhat kini? Nganong pakasad-on man ang Israel?”
Then said Joab, May the Lord add unto his people, how many soever they be, a hundred-fold more: are they not all, my lord the king, my lord's servants? why then will my lord require this thing? why shall it be a cause of guiltiness for Israel?
4 Apan hingpit na ang hukom sa hari batok kang Joab. Busa mibiya si Joab ug miadto sa tibuok Israel. Unya mibalik siya sa Jerusalem.
Nevertheless the king's word remained firm against Joab; and Joab went out, and moved about throughout all Israel, and came [back] to Jerusalem.
5 Unya gisugilon ni Joab ang tibuok gidaghanon sa manggugubat nga mga kalalakin-an ngadto kang David. Adunay 1, 100, 000 ka mga kalalakin-an nga batid sa paggamit sa espada sa Israel. Adunay 470, 000 lamang ka mga sundalo sa Juda.
And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto David: and there were [in] all Israel a thousand times thousand and one hundred thousand men that drew the sword: and [of] Judah were four hundred and seventy thousand men that drew the sword.
6 Apan wala mahiapil sa ihap ang banay ni Levi ug ni Benjamin, kay wala nakauyon si Joab sa gisugo sa hari.
But Levi and Benjamin did he not count among them: for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
7 tungod niini nga buhat wala nahimuot ang Dios, busa gisulong niya ang Israel.
And this thing was displeasing in the eyes of God, and he smote Israel.
8 Miingon si David ngadto sa Dios, “Nakasala ako sa paghimo niini. Busa karon pasayloa ang mga sala sa imong alagad, kay naghimo ako ug binuang.”
And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing; but now, I beseech thee, cause the iniquity of thy servant to pass away; for I have acted very foolishly.
9 Gisutihan ni Yahweh si Gad, ang propeta ni David.
And the Lord spoke unto Gad, David's seer, saying,
10 “Lakaw ug sultihi si David, 'Mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh: Hatagan ko ikaw niining tulo ka butang nga imong pilian. Pagpili ug usa kanila.'''
Go and speak unto David, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Three things do I offer thee: choose for thyself one of them, and I will do it unto thee.
11 Busa miadto si Gad kang David ug miingon kaniya, “Miingon si Yahweh niini,
So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus hath said the Lord, Select for thyself,
12 'Pagpili ug usa niini: ang kagutom ba sulod sa tulo ka tuig, o tulo ba ka bulan nga gukdon ka sa imong mga kaaway ug madakpan pinaagi sa ilang espada, o tulo ba ka adlaw diha sa espada ni Yahweh, nga mao ang katalagman sa yuta, pinaagi sa anghel ni Yahweh nga maoy moguba sa tibuok yuta sa Israel.' Busa karon, paghukom kung unsa ang imong tubag nga akong isulti sa nagpadala kanako.”
Whether there shall be three years famine; or three months, to be destroyed before thy adversaries, so that the sword of thy enemies overtake thee; or that during three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, shall be in the land, and an angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the boundaries of Israel? And now reflect what word I shall bring back to him that hath sent me.
13 Unya miingon si David kang Gad, “Nahasol ako pag-ayo. Itugyan ako sa kamot ni Yahweh kaysa mapukan ako sa kamot sa tawo, kay hilabihan kaayo ang iyang pagkamaluluy-on.”
And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall then into the hand of the Lord; for his mercies are very great; but let me not fall into the hand of man.
14 Busa nagpadala si Yahweh ug katalagman sa Israel, ug namatay ang 70, 000 ka tawo.
So the Lord sent a pestilence in Israel, and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.
15 Nagpadala ang Dios ug anghel sa Jerusalem aron sa paglaglag niini. Sa dihang laglagon na unta niya kini, mitan-aw si Yahweh ug nausab ang iyang panghunahuna mahitungod sa kadaot. Miingon siya sa angel nga tiglaglag, “Husto na! Bakwia ang imong kamot.” Nianang higayona nagtindog ang anghel ni Yahweh sa giokanan ni Ornan nga Jebusihanon.
And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it; but as he was destroying, the Lord looked on, and he bethought himself of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough: now stay thy hand. And the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
16 Mihangad si David ug nakita niya ang anghel ni Yahweh nga nagtindog taliwala sa yuta ug langit, nga adunay espada sa iyang kamot nga gipataas ibabaw sa Jerusalem. Unya nagsul-ob si David ug ang mga pangulo ug bisti nga sako ug nanghapa sa yuta.
And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the Lord standing between the earth and the heavens, with his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem. Then fell David, with the elders wrapt in sackcloth, upon their faces.
17 Miingon si David sa Dios, “Dili ba ako man ang nagsugo nga iphon ang kasundalohan? Gihimo ko kining daotang butang. Apan kining mga karnero, unsa may ilang nahimo? Yahweh nga akong Dios! Tugoti ang imong kamot nga mohampak kanako ug sa akong pamilya, apan ayaw tugoti nga magpabilin ang mga katalagman sa imong katawhan.”
And David said unto God, Was it not I that ordered to count the people? and I am the one that have sinned and have done evil indeed; but these sheep, what have they done? O Lord my God, let thy hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father's house, but not against thy people, that there should be a plague.
18 Busa gimandoan sa anghel ni Yahweh si Gad nga sultihan si David, nga kinahanglan motungas ug magtukod si David ug halaran alang kang Yahweh sa giokanan ni Ornan ang Jebusihanon.
And the angel of the Lord spoke to Gad to say to David, that David should go up, to erect an altar unto the Lord on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
19 Busa miadto si David sumala sa gimando kaniya ni Gad nga himoon sa ngalan ni Yahweh.
And David went up by the word of Gad, which he had spoken in the name of the Lord.
20 Samtang naggiok si Ornan ug trigo, milingi siya ug nakita niya ang anghel. Mitago siya uban ang iyang upat ka mga anak nga lalaki.
And when Ornan turned back, and saw the angel, then did he and his four sons with him hide themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
21 Sa pag-abot ni David kang Ornan, mitan-aw siya ug nakita niya si David. Gibiyaan niya ang giokanan ug mihapa siya sa atubangan ni David.
And as David came up to Ornan, Ornan looked up and saw David; and he went out of the threshing-floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
22 Unya miingon si David kang Ornan, “Ibaligya kanako kining giokanan, aron makatukod ako ug halaran alang kang Yahweh. Bayran ko kini sa tibuok kantidad, aron mawala ang katalagman gikan sa katawhan.”
Then said David to Ornan, “Grant me the site of this threshing-floor, that I may build thereon an altar unto the Lord: for the full price shalt thou give it unto me, so that the plague may be stayed from the people.”
23 Miingon si Ornan kang David, “Ikaw na ang manag-iya niini, akong agalong hari. Buhata kung unsa ang maayo sa imong panan-aw. Tan-awa, ihatag ko kanimo ang mga baka alang sa mga halad nga sinunog, ang giokanan aron himoong sugnod, ug ang trigo alang sa halad nga trigo; Ihatag ko kining tanan kanimo.”
And Ornan said unto David, Take it for thyself, and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes: lo, I give the oxen for burnt-offerings, and the threshing-rollers for wood, and the wheat for the meat-offering; the whole do I give [thee].
24 Miingon si Haring David kang Ornan, “Dili, buot ko gayod nga paliton kini sa tibuok kantidad. Dili ko kuhaon kung unsa ang anaa kanimo ug ihalad kini ingon nga halad sinunog ngadto kang Yahweh, nga kini walay bili kanako.”
And king David said to Ornan, No: but I will surely buy it at the full value; for I will not take what is thine for the Lord, so as to offer burnt-offerings without paying therefore.
25 Busa mibayad si David ug 600 ka shekel nga bulawan alang sa maong dapit.
So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.
26 Nagtukod si David ug halaran didto alang kang Yahweh ug naghalad niini ug mga halad nga sinunog ug halad sa pakigdait. Nag-ampo siya kang Yahweh, ug gitubag siya pinaagi sa kalayo gikan sa langit ngadto sa halaran alang sa mga halad sinunog.
And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and he called on the Lord: and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt-offering.
27 Unya gimandoan ni Yahweh ang anghel, ug gibalik sa anghel ang iyang espada sa sakuban niini.
And the Lord spoke to the angel, and he put back his sword into its sheath.
28 Sa dihang nakita ni David nga gitubag siya ni Yahweh didto sa giokanan ni Ornan nga Jebusihanon, sa samang higayon naghimo siya ug paghalad nga sakripisyo didto.
At that time when David saw that the Lord had answered him on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then did he sacrifice there.
29 Niadtong tungora, ang Tabernakulo ni Yahweh nga gihimo ni Moises didto sa kamingawan, ug ang halaran alang sa mga halad nga sinunog didto mahimutang sa habog nga dapit sa Gibeon.
But the tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses had made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt-offering, were at that time in the high-place at Gib'on.
30 Bisan paman niana, dili makaadto didto si David aron sa pagpangayo ug giya sa Dios, tungod kay nahadlok man siya sa espada sa anghel ni Yahweh.
But David was not able to go before it to inquire of God; for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the Lord.
