Псалми 49
1 За първият певец, псалом на Кореевите синове. Слушайте това, всички племена; Внимавайте всички жители на вселената,
“To the chief musician, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the perishable world:
2 И ниско поставени и високопоставени, Богати и сиромаси заедно.
Both the sons of the low and the sons of the high, rich and needy, altogether.
3 Устата ми ще говорят мъдрост, И размишлението на сърцето ми ще бъде за разумни неща;
My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
4 Ще поведа към притча ухото си, Ще изложа на арфа гатанката си.
I will incline my ear to a parable: I will open with the harp my riddle.
5 Защо да се боя във време на бедствие, Когато ме обкръжи беззаконието до петите?
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my oppressors encompasseth me?—
6 От ония, които уповават на имота си, И се хвалят с голямото си богатство,
Of those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves of the multitude of their riches?
7 Ни един от тях не може никак да изкупи брата си, Нито да даде Богу откуп за него.
No one can in any wise redeem his brother, nor can he give to God redemption money for himself;
8 (Защото толкова скъп е откупът на душата им, Щото всеки трябва да се оставя от това за винаги),
For the ransom of their soul is too costly, and it is omitted for ever.
9 Та да живее вечно И да не види изтление.
And should he still live for ever? not see the pit?
10 Защото гледа, бе мъдрите умират, И еднакво с тях погиват безумният и несмисленият, И оставят богатството си на други.
For he must see that wise men die, that together the fool and the brutish person perish and leave to others their wealth.
11 Тайната им мисъл е, че домовете им ще траят вечно, И жилищата им из род в род; Наричат земите си със своите си имена.
Their inward thought is, that their houses are to be for ever, their dwelling-places, from generation to generation; they call them by their own names in [various] countries.
12 Но човекът не пребъдва в чест; Прилича на животните, които загиват.
Nevertheless man in [his] splendor endureth not: he is like the beasts [that] perish.
13 Това е пътят на безумните; Но пак идещите подир тях човеци одобряват думите им. (Села)
This is their way, their folly: yet their posterity will take pleasure in their sayings. (Selah)
14 Назначават се като овци за преизподнята; Смъртта ще им бъде овчар; И праведните ще ги обладаят призори; И красотата им ще овехтее, Като остава преизподнята жилище на всеки един от тях. (Sheol h7585)
Like flocks are they thrust into the nether world; death will feed them; but the upright shall have dominion over them in that morning, and their form wasteth away in the nether world, [taken away] from their own dwelling. (Sheol h7585)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether world; for he will take me away. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Не бой се, когато забогатее човек, Когато се умножи славата на дома му;
Be not thou afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 Защото, когато умре няма да вземе със себе си нищо, Нито ще мине славата му на друг подир него,
For when he dieth he can take nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.
18 Ако и да е облажавал душата си приживе, И човеците да те хвалят, когато правиш добро на себе си.
For though he bless his soul during his life, and men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself:
19 Пак ще дойда при рода на бащите си. които никога няма да видят виделина.
She shall go to the generation of his fathers, unto eternity will these never see light.
20 Човек, който е на почит, а не разбира, Прилича на животните, които загиват.
Man, though in splendor, who understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. °
