Притчи 19
1 По-добър е сиромахът, който ходи в непорочността си, Нежели оня, който е с извратени устни а при това безумен.
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity than he that is perverse in his lips and a fool at the same time.
2 Наистина ожидане без разсъдък не е добро, И който бърза с нозете си, обърква пътя си.
Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
3 Безумието на човека изкривява пътя му, И сърцето му негодува против Господа.
The foolishness of man perverteth his way; and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
4 Богатството притуря много приятели, А сиромахът бива оставен от приятеля си,
Wealth addeth many friends; but as for the poor, his friend separateth himself from him.
5 Лъжливият свидетел няма да остане ненаказан, И който издиша лъжи няма да избегне.
A false witness shall not be unpunished; and he that breatheth forth lies shall not escape.
6 Мнозина търсят благоволението на щедрия, И всеки е приятел на онзи, който дава подаръци.
Many will entreat the favour of the liberal man; and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
7 Всичките братя на сиромаха го мразят, - Колко повече отбягват от него приятелите му! - Той тича след тях с умолителни думи, но тях ги няма.
All the brethren of the poor do hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He that pursueth words, they turn against him.
8 Който придобива ум обича своята си душа; Който пази благоразумие ще намери добро.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul; he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
9 Лъжлив свидетел няма да остане ненаказан, И който издиша лъжи ще загине.
A false witness shall not be unpunished; and he that breatheth forth lies shall perish.
10 Изнежеността не прилича на безумен, - Много по-малко на слуга да властвува над началници.
Luxury is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
11 Благоразумието на човека възпира гнева му, И слава е за него да се не взира в престъпление.
It is the discretion of a man to be slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
12 Гневът на царя е като реване на лъв, А благоволението му е като роса на тревата.
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
13 Безумен син е бедствие за баща си, И препирните на жена са непрестанно капене.
A foolish son is the calamity of his father; and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
14 Къща и богатство се оставят наследство от бащите, Но благоразумна жена е от Господа.
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers; but a prudent wife is from the LORD.
15 Леноста хвърля в дълбок сън, И бездейна душа ще гладува
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and the idle soul shall suffer hunger.
16 Който пази заповедта пази душата си, А който немари пътищата си ще загине.
He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; but he that despiseth His ways shall die.
17 Който показва милост към сиромаха заема Господу, И Той ще му въздаде за благодеянието му.
He that is gracious unto the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and his good deed will He repay unto him.
18 Наказвай сина си докато има надежда, И не закоравявай сърцето си да го оставиш да загине.
Chasten thy son, for there is hope; but set not thy heart on his destruction.
19 Яростен човек ще понесе наказание, Защото, ако и да го избавиш, трябва пак същото да направиш.
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment; for if thou interpose, thou wilt add thereto.
20 Слушай съвет и приемай поука, За да останеш мъдър в сетнините си.
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
21 Има много помисли в сърцето на човека, Но намерението Господно, то ще устои.
There are many devices in a man's heart; but the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
22 Милосърдието на човека е чест нему, И сиромах човек е по-добър от този, който разорява.
The lust of a man is his shame; and a poor man is better than a liar.
23 Страхът от Господа спомага към живот; Който го има ще си ляга наситен и не ще срещне зло.
The fear of the LORD tendeth to life; and he that hath it shall abide satisfied, he shall not be visited with evil.
24 Ленивият затопява ръката си в паницата И не ще нито в устата си да я повърне.
The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, and will not so much as bring it back to his mouth.
25 Ако биеш присмивателя, простият ще стане внимателен; И ако изобличиш благоразумния, той ще придобие знание.
When thou smitest a scorner, the simple will become prudent; and when one that hath understanding is reproved, he will understand knowledge.
26 Който опропастява баща си и пропъжда майка си, Той е син, който причинява срам и нанася позор.
A son that dealeth shamefully and reproachfully will despoil his father, and chase away his mother.
27 Престани, сине мой, да слушаш съвети, Които те отклоняват от мъдростта.
Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
28 Лошият свидетел се присмива на правосъдието; И устата на нечестивите поглъщат беззаконие.
An ungodly witness mocketh at right; and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
29 Присъди се приготвят за присмивателите, И бой за гърба на безумните.
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
