Плач Еремиев 5
1 Спомни си, Господи, какво ни стана; Погледни и виж как ни укоряват.
Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider and behold our reproach.
2 Наследството ни мина на чужденци, Къщите ни на странни.
Our inheritance is turned to aliens: our houses to strangers.
3 Останахме сирачета без баща; Майките ни са като вдовици.
We are become orphans without a father: our mothers are as widows.
4 Водата си пихме със сребро, Дървата ни идат с пари.
We have drunk our water for money: we have bought our wood.
5 Нашите гонители са на вратовете ни; Трудим се, и почивка нямаме.
We were dragged by the necks, we were weary and no rest was given us.
6 Простряхме ръка към египтяните И към асирийците, за да се наситим с хляб.
We have given our hand to Egypt, and to the Assyrians, that we might be satisfied with bread.
7 Бащите ни съгрешиха, и няма ги; И ние носим техните беззакония.
Our fathers have sinned, and are not: and we have borne their iniquities.
8 Слуги господаруват над нас, И няма кой да ни избави от ръката им.
Servants have ruled over us: there was none to redeem us out of their hand.
9 Добиваме хляба си с опасност за живота си Поради меча, който ограбва в пустинята.
We fetched our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the desert.
10 Кожата ни почервеня като пещ Поради върлуването на глада.
Our skin was burnt as an oven, by reason of the violence of the famine.
11 Изнасилваха жените в Сион, Девиците в Юдовите градове.
They oppressed the women in Sion, and the virgins in the cities of Juda.
12 Чрез техните ръце биваха обесени първенците, Старейшините не се почитаха.
The princes were hanged up by their hand: they did not respect the persons of the ancient.
13 Младежите носеха воденични камъни, И децата падаха под товара на дървата.
They abused the young men indecently: and the children fell under the wood.
14 Старейшините не седят вече на портите; Младежите изоставиха песните си.
The ancients have ceased from the gates: the young men from the choir of the singers.
15 Престана радостта на сърцето ни; Хорото ни се обърна на жалеене.
The joy of our heart is ceased, our dancing is turned into mourning.
16 Венецът падна от главата ни; Горко ни! защото сме съгрешили.
The crown is fallen from our head woe to us, because we have sinned.
17 Затова чезне сърцето ни. Затова причерня на очите ни.
Therefore is our heart sorrowful, therefore are our eyes become dim,
18 Поради запустяването на Сионския хълм Лисиците ходят по него.
For mount Sion, because it is destroyed, foxes have walked upon it.
19 Ти, Господи, седиш като Цар до века; Престолът Ти е из род в род.
But thou, O Lord, shalt remain for ever, thy throne from generation to generation.
20 Защо ни забравяш за винаги, И ни оставяш за толкоз дълго време?
Why wilt thou forget us for ever? why wilt thou forsake us for a long time?
21 Възвърни ни, Господи, към Себе Си, и ще се възвърнем; Обнови дните ни както изпърво,
Convert us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be converted: renew our days, as from the beginning.
22 Ако не си ни отхвърлил съвсем, И не си се разгневил твърде много против нас.
But thou hast utterly rejected us, thou art exceedingly angry against us.
