1 Подир смъртта на Исуса, израилтяните се допитаха до Господа, казвайки: Кой пръв ще възлезе за нас против ханаанците да воюва против тях?
And it comes to pass after the death of Joshua, that the sons of Israel ask of YHWH, saying, “Who goes up for us to the Canaanite, at the commencement, to fight against it?”
2 И Господ каза: Юда ще възлезе, ето, предадох земята в ръката му.
And YHWH says, “Judah goes up; behold, I have given the land into his hand.”
3 Тогава Юда каза на брата си Симеона: Възлез с мене в моя предел, за да воюваме против ханаанците, и аз ще отида с тебе в твоя предел. И Симеон отиде с него.
And Judah says to his brother Simeon, “Go up with me into my lot, and we fight against the Canaanite—and I have gone, even I, with you into your lot”; and Simeon goes with him.
4 Юда, прочее възлезе; и Господ предаде ханаанците и ферезейците в ръката им; и те поразиха от тях в Везек десет хиляди мъже.
And Judah goes up, and YHWH gives the Canaanite and the Perizzite into their hand, and they strike them in Bezek—ten thousand men;
5 И намериха Адонивезека във Везек, воюваха против него и поразиха ханаанците и ферезейците.
and they find Adoni-Bezek in Bezek, and fight against him, and strike the Canaanite and the Perizzite.
6 А Адонивезек побягна; но те го погнаха и хванаха го, и отсякоха палците на ръцете му и на нозете му.
And Adoni-Bezek flees, and they pursue after him, and seize him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes,
7 И рече Адонивезек: Седемдесет царе с отсечени палци на ръцете и на нозете си са събирали трохи под трапезата ми; както съм аз правил, така ми въздаде Бог. И доведоха го в Ерусалим, гдето и умря.
and Adoni-Bezek says, “Seventy kings—their thumbs and their great toes cut off—have been gathering under my table; as I have done so God has repaid to me”; and they bring him to Jerusalem, and he dies there.
8 И юдейците воюваха против Ерусалим, и, като го завлякоха, поразиха го с острото на ножа и предадоха града на огън.
And the sons of Judah fight against Jerusalem, and capture it, and strike it by the mouth of the sword, and they have sent the city into fire;
9 Подир това, юдейците слязоха, за да воюват против ханаанците, които живееха в хълмистата, и в южната и в полската страни.
and afterward the sons of Judah have gone down to fight against the Canaanite inhabiting the hill-country, and the south, and the low country;
10 Юда отиде и против ханаанците, които живееха в Хеврон (а по-напред името на Хеврон беше Кириат-арва), и убиха Сесая, Ахимана и Талмая;
and Judah goes to the Canaanite who is dwelling in Hebron (and the name of Hebron [was] formerly Kirjath-Arba), and they strike Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.
11 и от там отиде против жителите на Девир (а по-напред името на Девир беше Кириат-сефер).
And he goes there to the inhabitants of Debir (and the name of Debir [was] formerly Kirjath-Sepher),
12 И рече Халев: Който порази Кириат-сефер и го превземе, нему ще дам дъщеря си Аса за жена.
and Caleb says, “He who strikes Kirjath-Sepher and has captured it—then I have given my daughter Achsah to him for a wife.”
13 И превзе го Готониил, син на Кенеза, по-малкия брат на Халева; и той му даде дъщеря си Ахса за жена.
And Othniel son of Kenaz, younger brother of Caleb, captures it, and he gives his daughter Achsah to him for a wife.
14 И като отиваше тя му внуши щото да поиска от баща й нива; и тъй, като слезе от осела, Халев й рече: Що ти е?
And it comes to pass in her coming in, that she persuades him to ask from her father the field, and she comes down off the donkey, and Caleb says to her, “What do you [want]?”
15 А тя му рече: Дай ми благословение; понеже си ми дал южна страна, дай ми и водни извори. И Халев й даде гоните извори и долните извори.
And she says to him, “Give a blessing to me; when you have given me the south land—then you have given springs of water to me”; and Caleb gives the upper springs and the lower springs to her.
16 И потомците на кенееца, Моисевия тъст, отидоха от Града на палмите, заедно с юдейците, в Юдовата пустиня, която е на юг от Арад; и отидоха та се заселиха между людете.
And the sons of the Kenite, father-in-law of Moses, have gone up out of the city of palms with the sons of Judah [to] the wilderness of Judah, which [is] in the south of Arad, and they go and dwell with the people.
17 Тогава Юда отиде с братята си Симеона, та поразиха ханаанците, които живееха в Сефат; и обрекоха града на изтребление; и градът се нарече Орма.
And Judah goes with his brother Simeon, and they strike the Canaanite inhabiting Zephath, and devote it; and [one] calls the name of the city Hormah.
18 Юда завладя и Газа с околностите му, Аскалон с околностите му и Акарон с околностите му.
And Judah captures Gaza and its border, and Askelon and its border, and Ekron and its border;
19 Господ беше с Юда; и той изгони жителите на хълмистата страна, обаче, не изгони жителите и на долината, защото имаха железни колесници.
and YHWH is with Judah, and he occupies the hill-country, but not to dispossess the inhabitants of the valley, for they have chariots of iron.
20 И дадоха Хеврон на Халева, според както Моисей беше казал; и той изгони от там тримата Енакови синове.
And they give Hebron to Caleb, as Moses has spoken, and he dispossesses the three sons of Anak there.
21 А вениаминците не изгониха евусейците, които населяваха Ерусалим но евусейците живееха в Ерусалим заедно с вениаминците, както живеят и до днес.
And the sons of Benjamin have not dispossessed the Jebusite inhabiting Jerusalem; and the Jebusite dwells with the sons of Benjamin, in Jerusalem, until this day.
22 Също и Иосифовият дом, и те отидоха против Ветил; и Господ беше с тях.
And the house of Joseph goes up—even they—to Beth-El, and YHWH [is] with them;
23 И Иосифовият дом прати да съгледат Ветил (а по-напред името на града беше Луз).
and the house of Joseph causes [men] to spy out Beth-El (and the name of the city [was] formerly Luz),
24 И съгледателите видяха един човек, който излизаше из града, и рекоха му: Покажи ни, молим, входа на града, и ще ти покажем милост.
and the watchers see a man coming out from the city, and say to him, “Please show us the entrance of the city, and we have done kindness with you.”
25 И той им показа входа на града, и те поразиха града с острото на ножа, а човека оставиха да излезе с цялото си семейство.
And he shows them the entrance of the city, and they strike the city by the mouth of the sword, and they have sent the man and all his family away;
26 И човекът отиде в Хетейската земя, гдето и съгради град и нарече го Луз, както е името му и до днес.
and the man goes to the land of the Hittites, and builds a city, and calls its name Luz—it [is] its name to this day.
27 Манасия не изгони жителите на Ветсан и селата му, нито на Таанах и селата му, нито жителите на Дор и селата му, нито жителите на Ивреам и селата му, нито жителите на Магедон и селата му; но ханаанците настояваха да живеят в оная земя.
And Manasseh has not occupied Beth-Shean and its towns, and Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Iblaim and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, and the Canaanite is desirous to dwell in that land;
28 А Израил, когато стана силен наложи на ханаанците данък, без да ги изгони съвсем.
and it comes to pass, when Israel has been strong, that he sets the Canaanite to forced labor, and has not utterly dispossessed it.
29 Нито Ефрем изгони ханаанците, които живееха в Гезер; но ханаанците живееха в Гезер помежду им.
And Ephraim has not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwells in its midst, in Gezer.
30 Завулон тоже не изгони жителите на Китрон, нито жителите на Наалол; но ханаанците живееха между тях и бяха обложени с данък.
Zebulun has not dispossessed the inhabitants of Kitron, and the inhabitants of Nahalol, and the Canaanite dwells in its midst, and they become forced labor.
31 Асир не изгони жителите на Акхо, нито жителите на Сидон, нито на Ахлав, нито на Ахзив, нито на Хелва, нито на Афек, нито на Роов;
Asher has not dispossessed the inhabitants of Accho, and the inhabitants of Sidon, and Ahlab, and Achzib, and Helbah, and Aphik, and Rehob;
32 но асирците обитаваха между ханаанците, местните жители, защото не ги изгониха.
and the Asherite dwells in the midst of the Canaanite, the inhabitants of the land, for it has not dispossessed them.
33 Нефталим не изгони жителите на Ветсемес, нито жителите на Ветенат, но живееше между ханаанците, местните жители; обаче жителите на Ветсемес и на Ветенат му плащаха данък.
Naphtali has not dispossessed the inhabitants of Beth-Shemesh, and the inhabitants of Beth-Anath, and he dwells in the midst of the Canaanite, the inhabitants of the land; and the inhabitants of Beth-Shemesh and of Beth-Anath were for forced labor for them.
34 И аморейците принудиха данците да се оттеглят в хълмистата страна, защото не ги оставиха да слизат в долината;
And the Amorites press the sons of Dan to the mountain, for they have not permitted them to go down to the valley;
35 но аморейците настояваха да живеят в гората Ерес, в Еалон, и в Саалвим. Но при все това, ръката на Иосифовия дом преодоля, така щото ония бяха обложени с данък.
and the Amorite is desirous to dwell in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim, and the hand of the house of Joseph is heavy, and they are for forced labor;
36 А пределите на аморейците беше от нагорнището на Акравим, от скалата и нагоре.
and the border of the Amorite [is] from the ascent of Akrabbim, from the rock and upward.
