Йов 29
1 И Иов още продължи беседата си като казваше:
Job also added to this, using figures of speech, and he said:
2 О, да бях както в предишните месеци, Както в дните, когато Бог ме пазеше,
Who will grant to me that I might be as I was in former months, according to the days when God kept watch over me?
3 Когато светилникът Му светеше на главата ми, И със светлината Му ходех в тъмнината;
At that time, his lamp shined over my head, and by his light, I walked through the darkness.
4 Както бях в дните на зрелостта си, Когато съветът от Бога бдеше над шатъра ми;
I was then just as in the days of my youth, when God was privately in my tabernacle.
5 Когато Всемогъщият беше още с мене, И децата ми бяха около мене;
At that time, the Almighty was with me and my children surrounded me.
6 Когато миех стъпките си с масло, И скалата изливаше за мене реки от дървено масло!
Then, I washed my feet with butter, and a boulder poured out rivers of oil for me.
7 Когато през града излизах на портата, И приготвях седалището си на пазара,
When I went to the gate of the city, or to the main street, they prepared a chair for me.
8 Младите, като ме гледаха, се криеха, И старците ставаха и стояха прави;
The youths saw me and hid themselves, and the elders, rising up, remained standing.
9 Първенците се въздържаха от говорене, И туряха ръка на устата си;
The leaders stopped talking, and they placed a finder over their mouth.
10 Гласът на началниците замлъкваше, И езикът им залепваше за небцето им;
The commanders subdued their voice, and their tongue adhered to their throat.
11 Ухо, като ме чуеше, ублажаваше ме, И око, като ме виждаше, свидетелствуваше за мене;
The ear that heard me, blessed me, and the eye that saw me, gave testimony for me.
12 Защото освобождавах сиромаха, който викаше, И сирачето, и онзи, който нямаше помощник.
This was because I had freed the poor, who cried out, and the orphan, who had no helper.
13 Благословението от този, който бе близо до загиване, идеше на мене; И аз веселях сърцето на вдовицата.
The blessing of him who would have been destroyed came upon me, and I consoled the heart of the widow.
14 Обличах правдата, и тя ми беше одежда; Моята правдивост ми беше като мантия и корона.
I put on justice, and I clothed myself with my judgment, like a robe and a diadem.
15 Аз бях очи на слепия, И нозе на хромия.
I was an eye for the blind and a foot for the lame.
16 Бях баща на сиромасите; Изследвах делото на непознатия мене.
I was the father of the poor; and if I lacked knowledge about any case, I investigated very diligently.
17 Трошех челюстите на несправедливия, И изтеглях лова из зъбите му.
I crushed the jaws of the impious, and I took away prey from his teeth.
18 Тогава думах: Ще умра в гнездото си; И дните ми ще се умножат, както пясъка.
And I said, “I will die in my little nest, and like a palm tree, I will multiply my days.
19 Коренът ми е прострян към водите; И росата намокрюва цяла нощ клоните ми.
My root has been spread beside the waters, and the dew will remain with my harvest.
20 Славата ми зеленее още в мене; И лъкът ми се укрепява в ръката ми.
My glory will always be restored, and my bow will be restored to my hand.”
21 Човеците чакаха да ме слушат, И мълчаха, за да чуят съветите ми.
Those who heard me, expected vindication, and they listened closely in silence to my counsel.
22 Подир моите думи те не притуряха нищо; Словото ми капеше върху тях;
To my words, they dared to add nothing, and my eloquence poured over them.
23 За мене очакваха като за дъжд, И устата ми зееха като за пролетен дъжд.
They waited for me as for rain, and they opened their mouth as for belated rains.
24 Усмихвах се на тях, когато бяха в отчаяние; И те не можаха да потъмнеят светлостта на лицето ми.
If I had ever laughed at them, they would not have believed it, and the light of my face was not cast down towards the ground.
25 Избирах пътя към тях, и седях пръв помежду им, И живеех като цар всред войската, Както онзи, който утешава наскърбените.
If I wished to go to them, I sat down first, and, though I sat like a king surrounded by an army, yet I was a comforter to those who mourned.
