Агей 1
1 Във втората година на цар Дария, в шестия месец, на първия ден от месеца, Господнето слово дойде чрез пророк Агея към управителят на Юда Заровавел Салатиилевия син, и към великият свещеник Исус Иоседековия син, и рече:
In the second year of king Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying:
2 Така говори Господ на Силите, казвайки: Тия люде думат - Не е още времето, което щяло да дойде, времето да се постои Господният дом.
Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: This people claims that the time has not yet arrived for building the house of the Lord.
3 За това, Господнето слово дойде чрез пророк Агея и рече:
But the word of the Lord came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
4 Време ли е сами вие Да живеете в своите с дъски обковани къщи, Докато тоя дом остава пуст?
Is it time for you to dwell in paneled houses, while this house is deserted?
5 Сега прочее така казва Господ на Силите: Помислете за постъпките си.
And now, thus says the Lord of hosts: Set your hearts upon your ways.
6 Посеяхте много, но малко събрахте; Ядете, но не се насищате; Пиете, но не се напивате; Обличате се, но никому не му е топло; И надничарят приема заплатата, за да я тури в скъсан мешец.
You sowed much and have brought in little. You consumed and have not been satisfied. You drank and have not been inebriated. You covered yourselves and have not been warmed. And whoever gathered wages, has put them in a bag with holes.
7 Така казва Господ на Силите: Помислете за постъпките си.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Set your hearts upon your ways.
8 Качете се на гората, та докарайте дърва И постройте домът; И Аз ще благоволя в него, И ще се прославя, казва Господ.
Ascend to the mountain, bring wood and build the house, and it shall be acceptable to me, and I shall be glorified, says the Lord.
9 Очаквахте за много, а, ето, излезе малко; И когато го донесохте у дома си, аз духнах на него. Защо? казва Господ на Силите. Поради Моя дом, който остава пуст, Докато вие тичате всеки в своята къща.
You have looked for more, and behold, it became less, and you brought it home, and I blew it away. What is the cause of this, says the Lord of hosts? It is because my house is desolate, yet you have hurried, each one to his own house.
10 И тъй, поради вас небето задържа росата си, И земята възпира плода си;
Because of this, the heavens over you have been prohibited from giving dew, and the earth has been prohibited from giving her sprouts.
11 Защото аз повиках суша На земята и по горите, На житото, на виното, и на дървеното масло, На всичко що произвежда земята, На човеците и на добитъка, И на всичките трудове на човешките ръце.
And I called a drought over the land, and over the mountains, and over the wheat, and over the wine, and over the oil, and whatever the soil would bring forth, and over men, and over beasts of burden, and over all the labor of hands.
12 Тогава Зоровавел Салатиилевият син, и великият свещеник Исус Иоседековият син, и всичките оцелели люде послушаха гласа на Господа своя Бог и думите на пророк Агея, както го бе изпратил Господ техният Бог; и людете се убояха пред Господа.
And Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people heeded the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, just as the Lord their God sent him to them. And the people were fearful before the face of the Lord.
13 И Господният пратеник Агей говори на людете с думите на Господнето послание, казвайки: Аз съм с вас, дума Господ.
And Haggai, a messenger of the Lord among messengers of the Lord, spoke to the people, saying: the Lord says, “I am with you.”
14 И Господ възбуди духа на управителя на Юда Зоровавел Салатиилевия син, и духа на великия свещеник Исус Иоседековия син, и духа на всички оцелели люде; и те дойдоха та работеха в дома на Господа на Силите, своя Бог,
And the Lord stirred the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Jesus the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the remainder of all the people. And they entered and performed work in the house of the Lord of hosts their God.
15 като започнаха на двадесет и четвъртия ден от шестия месец, във втората година на цар Дария.
On the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of king Darius, they began.
