Битие 13
1 Така Аврам излезе от Египет, той, жена му и всичко що имаше, и Лот с него, та замина към южната страна.
So Abram came up out of Egypt he and his wife and all that he had and Lot with him, towards the South.
2 Аврам беше много богат с добитък, сребро и злато.
Now, Abram, was very rich, —in cattle, in silver and in gold.
3 И от южната страна той минаваше постепенно дори до Ветил, до мястото, гдето от по-напред беше поставена шатрата му между Ветил и Гай.
And he went his way, by his removals, from the South even as far as to Bethel, —as far as the place where his tent was at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai:
4 до мястото, гдето първоначално беше издигнат олтара; и там Аврам призова Господното име.
unto the place of the altar, which he made there at first, —and Abram called there, on the name of Yahweh.
5 Също и Лот, който придружаваше Аврама, имаше овци, говеда и шатри.
Now, Lot also, who was going with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents.
6 И понеже земята не ги побираше да живеят заедно, тъй като имотът им беше много, и не можеха да живеят заедно,
And the land suffered them not to dwell together, —because their substance had become, great, so that they could not dwell together.
7 появи се спречкване между Аврамовите говедари и Лотовите говедари. (По това време ханаанците и ферезейците населяваха тая земя).
And there arose a strife betwixt the herdmen of Abram, and the herdmen of Lot. Now the Canaanite and the Perizzite, were then dwelling in the land.
8 Тогава Аврам рече на Лота: Да няма, моля ти се, спречкване между мене и тебе между моите говедари и твоите говедари, защото ние сме братя.
So then Abram said unto Lot Pray let not cause of strife arise betwixt me and thee, or betwixt my herdmen and thy herdmen; for brethren, are we.
9 Не е ли пред тебе цялата земя. Моля ти се, отдели се от мене; ти ако идеш наляво, то аз ще ида надясно; или ако ти идеш надясно, аз ще ида наляво.
Is not, all the land, before thee? I pray thee, separate thyself from me, —if to the left hand, then I will go to the right, if to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
10 Лот, прочее, подигна очи и разгледа цялата равнина на Иордан и видя, че беше добре напоявана догде се стигне в Сигор, (преди да беше разорил Господа Содома и Гомора), като Господната градина, като Египетската земя.
So Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld all the circuit of the Jordan, that the whole of it, was well-watered, —before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the Garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as thou enterest into Zoar.
11 За това Лот си избра цялата Иорданска равнина. И Лот тръгна към изток и се разделиха един от друг.
And Lot chose for himself all the circuit of the Jordan, so Lot brake up eastwards, —and they separated themselves, each man from his brother:
12 Аврам се засели в Ханаанската земя; а Лот се засели между градовете на Иорданската равнина, и преместваше шатрите си докато стигна до Содом.
Abram, fixed his dwelling in the land of Canaan, —but, Lot, fixed his dwelling among the cities, of the circuit, and moved his tent as far as Sodom.
13 А содомските мъже бяха твърде нечестиви и грешни пред Господа.
Now, the men of Sodom were base and sinful, —against Yahweh, exceedingly.
14 И Господ каза на Аврама, след като се отдели Лот от него: Подигни сега очите си от мястото гдето си, та погледни към север и юг, изток и запад;
And, Yahweh, said unto Abram after that Lot had separated himself from him, Lift up, I pray thee thine eyes and look, from the place where thou art, —northward and southward and eastward and westward;
15 защото цялата земя, която виждаш, ще дам на тебе и на потомството ти до века.
for all the land which thou art beholding—to thee, will I give it, and to thy seed unto times age-abiding;
16 И ще направя потомството ти многочислено като земния прах; така щото, ако може някой да изброи земния прах, то и твоето потомство ще изброи.
and I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, —so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, thy seed also, may be numbered.
17 Стани, обходи дължината на земята, защото на теб ще я дам.
Rise! go up and down in the land, to the length thereof and to the breadth thereof, for to thee, will I give it.
18 Тогава Аврам премести шатрата си, дойде и се засели при Мемриевите дъбове, които са в Хеврон; и там издигна олтар на Господа.
So Abram moved his tent and came in and dwelt among the oaks of Mamre, which were in Hebron, —and built there an altar to Yahweh.
