1 Тимотей 4
1 А Духът изрично казва, че в послешните времена някои ще отстъпят от вярата, и ще слушат измамителни духове и бясовски учения,
Now the Spirit expressly saith, that in latter times some shall apostatize from the faith, attending to seducing spirits,
2 чрез лицемерието на човеци, които лъжат, чиято съвест е пригоряла,
and doctrines of demons founded in the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, forbidding to marry,
3 които запрещават жененето и заповядват въздържание от ястия, които Бог създаде, за да се употребяват с благодарение от ония, които вярват и разбират истината.
and enjoining abstinence from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by those that believe and know the truth.
4 Защото всяко нещо, създадено от Бога, е добро, и нищо не е за отхвърляне, ако се приема с благодарение;
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 Понеже се освещава чрез Божието слово и молитва.
for it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.
6 В това като съветваш братята, ще бъдеш добър служител Исус Христов, хранен с думите на вярата и доброто учение, което си следвал до сега.
If thou lay these things before the brethren, thou wilt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, as one brought up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, to which thou hast attained.
7 А отхвърляй скверните и бабешките басни и обучавай себе си в благочестие.
But profane and groundless fables reject, and exercise thyself unto godliness.
8 Защото телесното обучение е за малко полезно; а благочестието е за всичко полезно, понеже има обещанието и за сегашния и за бъдещия живот.
For bodily exercise profiteth little, but piety is profitable unto all things, having the promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come:
9 Това слово е вярно и заслужава приемане;
this is a certain truth and worthy of all acceptance.
10 понеже за това се трудим и подвизаваме, защото се надяваме на живия Бог, Който е Спасител на всички човеци, а най-вече на вярващите.
For to this end we both labour and suffer reproach, because we have hope in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of the faithful.
11 Това заръчвай и учи.
These things declare and teach.
12 Никой да не презира твоята младост; но бъди пример на вярващите в слово, в поведение, в любов, във вяра, в чистота.
Let no one have cause to despise thy youth; but he thou an example to believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
13 Докато дойда, внимавай на прочитането, на увещанието на проучването.
Till I come attend to reading, to exhortation, and teaching.
14 Не пренебрегвай, дарбата която имаш, която ти се даде, съгласно с пророчеството, чрез ръкополагането от презвитерите.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 В това прилежавай, на това се предавай, за да стане явен на всички твоят напредък.
Meditate on these things, be wholly in them, that thy proficiency may be manifest in all.
16 Внимавай на себе си и на поучението си, постоянствувай в това; защото, като правиш това, ще спасиш и себе си и слушателите си.
Take heed to thyself, and to thy doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this, thou wilt both save thyself and those that hear thee.
