3 Царе 19
1 И Ахаав съобщи на Езавел всичко, що бе сторил Илия, и как бе избил с меч всичките пророци.
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
2 Тогава Езавел прати човек до Илия да каже: Така да ми направят боговете, да! и повече да притурят, ако утре, около тоя час, не направя твоя живот както живота на един от тях.
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life like the life of one of those dead prophets by tomorrow about this time.”
3 А като видя това, Илия стана и отиде за живота си, и като дойде във Вирсавее Юдово, остави слугата си там.
When Elijah heard that, he arose and fled for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 А сам той отиде на еднодневен път в пустинята, и дойде та седна под една смрика: и поиска за себе си да умре, казвайки: Доволно, е, сега, Господи, вземи душата ми, защото не съм по-добър от бащите си.
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. He requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough, now, Yahweh; take away my life, for I am no better than my dead ancestors.”
5 Тогава легна и заспа под смриката; после, ето, ангел се допря до него и му рече: Стани, яж.
So he lay down and slept under a broom tree. Suddenly an angel touched him and said to him, “Get up and eat.”
6 И погледна, и ето при главата му пита печена на жаравата и стомна с вода. И яде и пи, и пак легна.
Elijah looked, and near his head was bread that had been baked on coals and a jug of water. So he ate and drank and then lay down again.
7 А ангелът Господен дойде втори път та се допря до него, и рече: Стани, яж, защото пътят е много дълъг за тебе.
The angel of Yahweh came again a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, because the journey will be too much for you.”
8 И той стана та яде и пи, и със силата от онова ястие пътува четиридесет да не и четиридесет нощи до Божията планина Хорив.
So he arose and ate and drank, and he traveled in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God.
9 И там слезе в една пещера, гдето се зесели; и ето, Господното слово дойде към него та му рече: Що правиш тук, Илие?
He went to a cave there and stayed in it. Then the word of Yahweh came to him and said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 А той каза: Аз съм бил много ревнив за Господа Бога на Силите; защото израилтяните оставиха завета Ти, събориха олтарите Ти и избиха с меч пророците Ти; само аз останах, но и моя живот искат да отнемат.
Elijah replied, “I have been very zealous for Yahweh, God of hosts, for the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, destroyed your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. Now I, only I, am left and they are also trying to take my life.”
11 И словото му каза: Излез та застани на планината пред Господа. И, ето, Господ минаваше и голям силен вятър цепеше бърдата и сломяваше скалите пред Господа, но Господ не бе във вятъра; а подир вятъра земетръс, но Господ не бе в земетръса;
Yahweh replied, “Go out and stand on the mountain before me.” Then Yahweh passed by, and a very strong wind struck the mountains and broke rocks into pieces before Yahweh, but Yahweh was not in the wind. Then after the wind, an earthquake came, but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.
12 И подир земетръса огън, но Господ не бе в огъня; а подир огъня тих и тънък глас.
Then after the earthquake a fire came, but Yahweh was not in the fire. Then after the fire, a still small voice came.
13 И Илия, като го чу, покри лицето си с кожуха си, излезе и застана при входа на пещерата. И, ето, глас дойде към него, който рече: Що правиш тук Илие?
When Elijah heard the voice, he wrapped his face in his cloak, went out, and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then a voice came to him that said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
14 И той каза: Аз съм бил много ревнив за Господа Бога на Силите; защото израилтяните оставиха завета Ти, събориха олтарите Ти, и избиха с меч пророците Ти; само аз останах но и моя живот искат да отнемат.
Elijah replied, “I have been very zealous for Yahweh, God of hosts, because the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, destroyed your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. Now I, only I, am left and they are also trying to take my life.”
15 Но Господ му рече: Иди, върни се по пътя си през пустинята в Дамаск, и когато пристигнеш, помажи Азаила за цар над Сирия;
Then Yahweh said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus, and when you arrive you will anoint Hazael to be king over Aram,
16 а Ииуя Намесиевия син помажи за цар над Израиля: и Елисея Сафатовия син, от Авелмеола, помажи за пророк вместо тебе.
and you will anoint Jehu son of Nimshi to be king over Israel, and you will anoint Elisha son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.
17 И ще стане, че който се избави от Азаиловия меч него Ииуй ще убие; и който се избави от Ииуевия меч, него Елисей ще убие.
It will happen that Jehu will kill whoever escapes from the sword of Hazael, and that Elisha will kill whoever escapes from the sword of Jehu.
18 Оставил съм Си, обаче, в Израиля седем хиляди души, всички ония, които не са преклонили колена пред Ваала, и всички, чиито уста не са го целували.
But I will leave for myself seven thousand people in Israel, whose knees have not bent down to Baal, and whose mouths have not kissed him.”
19 И тъй, Илия тръгна от там и намери Елисея Сафатовия син, който ореше с дванадесет двойки волове пред себе си; и сам бе с дванадесетата; и Илия мина към него и хвърли кожуха си върху него.
So Elijah left from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he himself was plowing with the twelfth yoke. Elijah walked over to Elisha and draped his cloak on him.
20 А той остави воловете та се завтече подир Илия и рече: Нека целуна, моля, баща си и майка си, и тогава ще те последвам. А Илия му каза: Иди, върни се, защото какво съм ти сторил?
Then Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah; he said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” Then Elijah said to him, “Go back, but think about what I have done to you.”
21 И той се върна отподире му, та взе двойката волове и ги закла, а с приборите на воловете опече месото им, и даде на людете, та ядоха. Тогава стана та последва Илия, и му слугуваше.
So Elisha returned from Elijah and took the yoke of oxen, killed the animals, and cooked the meat with the wood from the ox yoke. Then he gave it to the people and they ate. Then he arose, went after Elijah and served him.
