< James 4 >

1 a hinge ni ji vii ni hama ni katu kabi ye ni mi mbi/
Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Do not they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
You lust, and do not have. You murder and covet, and cannot obtain. You fight and make war. You do not have, because you do not ask.
3 bi bre ndi na fe na don bina bre ni kon ndindi ma na bi son ndi bi tie ndu niwu ni kon meme ma
You ask, and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
You adulterers and adulteresses, do not you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
5 bisi ya ndi ikpe wa nasi hla ahe megen? ibrji tsratsra wa a he ni i mbua nitie ngu kpukpo me?
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”?
6 irji nno zizi babran itre rji tre ndi irji ni kamani ndrji u sentu ani tie zizi ni ndrji u katugyi
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
7 nnotumbi ni rji kambi ni shetan ani tsutsu di kon yuwuu
Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 whie ye ni rji u wawu me ni whie ni yi ngla wo mbi biyi bi latre ngla sron mbi biyi bi sron ha
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 losron kpukpome losron yi ndu nza mbi kati losron ngyri mbi ndu kati yi
Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
Do not speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
12 indji riri nno du nda tretre wawuyi nito kpa cuwo nda kpa tie meme
Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
13 wo mba biyi a bi tre ndi iuwa komble ki hi ni gbu mu ndi tie se ri nikima ndi le ndi fe gbugbuu
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.”
14 ahi nhato kpe wa ni te imblea ka son me ni he ni he u he na kpalu wa ani rij niton fie me nda ka kadoa
Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
15 nawa u katre ndi baci nita kpa yine u ki he ni mi bi vrli ki tie wayi ndi tie wamu
For you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.”
But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.
17 u indji wa ato kpe wa abi ndutiea nda na tieu na a hi latre ni wuu
To him therefore who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
