< Marc 1 >
1 Penn-kentañ Aviel Jezuz-Krist, Mab Doue.
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God.
2 Hervez ar pezh a oa bet skrivet er brofeded: Setu e kasan va c'hannad dirak da zremm, da gempenn an hent dirazout;
As it is written in Isaiah the Prophet, "Behold, I send my messenger before thee, who shall prepare thy way:"
3 mouezh an hini a gri el lec'h distro a lavar: Kempennit hent an Aotrou, plaenit e wenodennoù.
"The voice of one proclaiming in the wilderness, Prepare a way for the Lord, make for him a straight passage:"
4 Yann a zeuas o badeziñ el lec'h distro, hag o prezeg badeziant ar geuzidigezh evit pardon ar pec'hedoù.
thus came John immersing in the wilderness, and publishing the immersion of reformation for the remission of sins.
5 An holl Judea hag holl dud Jeruzalem a yae d'e gavout, hag e oant badezet gantañ er stêr Jordan, oc'h anzav o fec'hedoù.
And all the country of Judea, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, resorted to him, and were immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Yann a zouge ur sae a vlev kañval hag ur gouriz lêr en-dro d'e groazell; e voued a oa kilheien-raden ha mel gouez.
Now John's clothing was of camel's hair, tied around his waist with a leather girdle: and he lived upon locusts and wild honey.
And he proclaimed, saying, One mightier than I comes after me, whose shoe-latchet I am unworthy to stoop down and untie.
8 Evidon-me, ho padezet em eus en dour, met eñ ho padezo er Spered-Santel.
I, indeed, have immersed you in water; but he will immerse you in the Holy Spirit.
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee to the Jordan, and was immersed by John.
10 Kerkent, evel ma save eus an dour, e welas an neñvoù digor hag ar Spered-Santel, evel ur goulm, o tiskenn warnañ.
As soon as he arose out of the water, he saw the sky part asunder, and the Spirit descend upon him like a dove.
11 Ur vouezh a zeuas eus an neñvoù, o lavarout: Te eo va Mab karet-mat, ennout em eus lakaet va holl levenez.
And a voice from heaven, which said, Thou art my Son, the beloved, in whom I delight.
Immediately after this, the spirit conveyed him into the wilderness;
and he continued in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan; and was among the wild beasts; and the heavenly messengers ministered to him.
14 Met goude ma voe bet lakaet Yann er prizon, Jezuz a yeas e Galilea, o prezeg Aviel rouantelezh Doue,
But after John's imprisonment, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the good tidings of the Reign of God.
15 hag o lavarout: An amzer a zo peurc'hraet, ha rouantelezh Doue a zo tost. Ho pet keuz ha kredit en Aviel.
The time, he said, is accomplished, the Reign of God approaches; reform, and believe the good tidings.
16 Hag, evel ma valee a-hed mor Galilea, e welas Simon hag Andrev e vreur, o teurel o roued er mor, rak pesketaerien e oant.
Then walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew, Simon's brother, casting a drag net into the sea, for they were fishers.
17 Neuze Jezuz a lavaras dezho: Heuilhit ac'hanon, ha me ho raio pesketaerien dud.
Jesus said to them, Come with me, and I will cause you to be fishers of men.
18 Kerkent, o lezel o rouedoù, e heuilhjont anezhañ.
Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
Passing on a little, and seeing James, son of Zebedee, with John his brother, who were mending their nets in a bark,
20 Raktal e c'halvas anezho; hag int, o lezel Zebedea o zad er vag gant an devezhourien, a heulias anezhañ.
he immediately called them; and leaving their father Zebedee in the bark with the hired servants, they accompanied him.
And they went to Capernaum; and on the Sabbath he repaired directly to the synagogue, and instructed the people,
22 Hag e oant souezhet eus e gelenn; rak o deskiñ a rae evel o kaout galloud, ha neket evel ar skribed.
who were filled with admiration at his manner of teaching; for he taught as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Now there was in their synagogue a man possessed with an unclean spirit, who cried out,
24 Ah! Deuet out evit hor c'holl? Me a oar piv out: Sant Doue.
Ah! Jesus of Nazareth, what hast thou to do with us? Art thou come to destroy us? I know who thou art, the Holy One of God.
Jesus rebuking him, said, Be silent, and come out of him.
26 Neuze ar spered hudur en hejas start hag o leuskel ur griadenn vras, a yeas kuit outañ.
Then the unclean spirit threw him into convulsions; and, raising loud cried, came out of him:
27 Souezhet bras e voent holl, en hevelep doare ma en em c'houlennent etrezo: Petra eo kement-mañ? Petra eo ar gredenn nevez-mañ? Rak gant galloud e c'hourc'hemenn, memes d'ar speredoù hudur, hag e sentont outañ.
at which they were all so amazed, that they asked one another, What does this mean? For he commands with authority even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.
And thenceforth his fame spread through all the region of Galilee.
29 Kerkent goude, o vezañ aet er-maez eus ar sinagogenn, e teujont gant Jakez ha Yann e ti Simon hag Andrev.
As soon as they were come out of the synagogue, they went with James and John into the house of Simon and Andrew,
30 Mamm-gaer Simon a oa en he gwele, klañv gant an derzhienn, ha raktal e komzjont outañ diwar he fenn.
where Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, of which they immediately acquainted Jesus.
31 Neuze, o tostaat, en ur gemer he dorn e reas dezhi sevel; raktal an derzhienn a yeas kuit diouti, hag e servijas anezho.
And he came, and taking her by the hand, raised her; instantly the fever left her, and she entertained them.
32 War an abardaez, pa voe kuzhet an heol, e tegasjont dezhañ an holl dud klañv, hag ar re a oa dalc'het gant diaoulien.
In the evening, after sunset, they brought to him all the sick, and the demoniacs;
33 Holl dud kêr a oa dastumet dirak dor an ti.
the whole city being assembled at the door.
34 Hag e yac'haas kalz a dud klañv eus meur a gleñved, hag e kasas kuit meur a ziaoul, o tifenn outo lavarout ec'h anavezent anezhañ.
And he healed many persons affected with various diseases, and expelled many demons, whom he permitted not to speak, because they knew him.
35 Ar beure, evel ma rae c'hoazh gwall deñval, o vezañ savet, ez eas er-maez, hag o vont en ul lec'h a-du, e pedas eno.
On the morrow, having risen before dawn, he went out, and retired to a solitary place, and prayed there.
36 Simon, hag ar re a oa gantañ a yeas d'e glask.
And Simon and his company went in quest of him,
37 O vezañ e gavet, e lavarjont dezhañ: An holl a glask ac'hanout.
and having found him, said to him, Every person seeks you.
38 Eñ a lavaras dezho: Deomp d'an nesañ bourc'hioù, evit ma prezegin ivez eno; rak evit-se eo on deuet.
Jesus said, Let us go to the neighboring boroughs, to make proclamation there also: for I came out with this design.
39 Hag e prezege en o sinagogennoù, dre an holl C'halilea, hag e kase kuit an diaoulien.
Accordingly he proclaimed in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and expelled demons.
And a leper came to him, and on his knees entreated him, saying, If you will, you can cleanse me.
41 Jezuz, o kaout truez outañ, a astennas e zorn, en stokas, hag a lavaras dezhañ: Fellout a ra din, bez glanaet.
Jesus had compassion, and stretching out his hand and touching him, said, I will, be you clean.
This he had no sooner uttered, than the leprosy departed from the man, and he was cleansed.
43 Jezuz a gasas anezhañ kuit raktal, gant gourc'hemennoù start,
Then Jesus strictly charging him, and dismissing him,
said, See you tell nothing of this to any man; but go, show yourself to the priest; and offer for your cleansing the things prescribed by Moses, that it may be notified to the people.
45 Met an den-mañ, o vezañ aet kuit, en em lakaas da zisklêriañ uhel an dra ha da skuilhañ ar vrud aze, en hevelep doare na c'helle mui Jezuz mont e kêr dirak an holl; met en em zerc'hel a rae er-maez el lec'hioù distro, hag a bep tu e teued d'e gavout.
But the man, as soon as he was gone, began to blaze this story, talking openly everywhere, insomuch that Jesus could no longer publicly appear in the city; but remained without in solitary places, whither the people resorted to him from all parts.
