শলোমনের পরমগীত 1
1 শলোমনের পরমগীত।
The song of songs, which [is] Solomon's.
2 তাঁর মুখের চুম্বনে তিনি আমাকে চুম্বন করুন, কেননা তোমার প্রেম দ্রাক্ষারসের চেয়েও বেশি চিত্তাকর্ষক ও মধুর।
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love [is] better than wine.
3 তোমার সুগন্ধির ছড়ানো সুবাস প্রফুল্লদায়ক; তোমার নামটিও যেন ঢেলে দেওয়া আতর। ফলে কুমারী মেয়েরা যে তোমাকে প্রেম করবে, এতে বিস্ময়ের কিছু নেই!
Because of the savor of thy good ointments thy name [is as] ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
4 আমাকে নিয়ে চলো তোমার সঙ্গে দূরে—চলো, আমরা শীঘ্র যাই! আমার রাজা আমাকে নিয়ে যাবেন তাঁর অন্তঃপুরে। বান্ধবীদের দল আমরা তোমাতে আনন্দিত ও উল্লসিত হব; দ্রাক্ষারসের চেয়েও আমরা তোমার প্রেমের বেশি বন্দনা করব। প্রেমিকা তোমার প্রতি লোকদের ভক্তি ভালোবাসা একেবারে ন্যায্য!
Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers; we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
5 হে জেরুশালেমের কন্যারা, আমি ঘন কালো হলেও সুন্দরী, ঠিক যেন কেদরের তাঁবু আমি, যেন শলোমনের তাঁবুর যবনিকা।
I [am] black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
6 আমি ঘন কালো বলে ওভাবে তাকিও না আমার দিকে, কেননা রোদে পুড়েই আজ আমি ঘন কালো। আমার মাতৃপুত্রগণ আমার প্রতি ক্রুদ্ধ ছিল এবং তারা আমাকে দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত্র দেখভাল করতে পাঠাত; ফলে আমার নিজের দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত্রকে আমায় উপেক্ষা করতে হয়েছে।
Look not upon me, because I [am] black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; [but] my own vineyard have I not kept.
7 ওগো প্রেমিক আমার, এবার বলত, তোমার মেষপালকে তুমি কোথায় চরাও এবং দ্বিপ্রহরকালে তোমার মেষদের কোথায় বিশ্রাম করাও। তোমার বন্ধুদের পালের পাশে আমাকে কেন ঘোমটা দেওয়া মহিলার মতো হতে হবে?
Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest [thy flock] to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
8 হে, নারীদের মধ্যে সেরা সুন্দরী, তা যদি তুমি না-জানো, তবে মেষদের পদচিহ্ন ধরে যাও, এবং পালকদের তাঁবুগুলির কাছে তোমার ছাগবৎসদের চরাও।
If thou knowest not, O thou fairest among women, go forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds tents.
9 প্রিয়তমা আমার, আমি তোমাকে তুলনা করেছি ফরৌণের অন্যতম এক রথের সঙ্গে যুক্ত এক অশ্বিনীর সঙ্গে।
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
10 কানের দুলগুলি তোমার দুই গালকে আর রত্নখচিত মালা তোমার গলাকে করে তুলেছে অপূর্ব।
Thy cheeks are comely with rows [of jewels], thy neck with chains [of gold].
11 আমরা তোমাকে করে তুলব যেন সোনার তৈরি কানের দুল, যা হবে রৌপ্যখচিত।
We will make for thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
12 রাজা যখন তাঁর মেজের নিকটে উপস্থিত, তখন আমার সুগন্ধি তার সৌরভ ছড়াল।
While the king [sitteth] at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth its smell.
13 আমার প্রেমিক আমার কাছে এক থলি গন্ধরসের মতো যা আমার স্তনযুগলের উপত্যকায় মিশে থাকে।
A bundle of myrrh [is] my well beloved to me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
14 আমার প্রেমিক আমার কাছে মেহেদি গুল্মের একগুচ্ছ কুঁড়ির মতো, যা জন্মায় ঐন-গদীর দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত্রে।
My beloved [is] to me [as] a cluster of camphor in the vineyards of En-gedi.
15 প্রিয়তমা আমার, অনিন্দ্যসুন্দরী তুমি! আহা, কি অপরূপ তুমি! তোমার দু-নয়ন কপোতের মতো।
Behold, thou [art] fair, my love; behold, thou [art] fair; thou [hast] doves' eyes.
16 ওগো আমার প্রিয়তম, সুদর্শন তুমি! আহা, কী মনোহর তুমি! আমাদের শয্যাও কেমন শ্যামল।
Behold, thou [art] fair, my beloved, yes, pleasant: also our bed [is] green.
17 আমাদের ঘরের কড়িকাঠ তৈরি সিডার গাছের কাঠ দিয়ে, আর বরগা দেবদারু দিয়ে।
The beams of our house [are] cedar, [and] our rafters of fir.
