শলোমনের পরমগীত 3
1 সারারাত আমার শয্যায় আমি একজনের প্রতীক্ষায় পথ চেয়ে বসেছিলাম, যাঁকে আমার হৃদয় ভালোবাসে; তাঁর জন্য পথ চেয়ে বসে থাকলাম কিন্তু তাঁর দেখা পেলাম না।
On my bed at night I sought the one I love; I sought him, but did not find him.
2 আমি এখন উঠব এবং নগরে যাব, সেখানকার পথে-ঘাটে ও উন্মুক্ত চত্বরে তাঁকে অন্বেষণ করব, যাঁকে আমার হৃদয় ভালোবাসে। এইভাবে আমি তাঁকে অন্বেষণ করলাম কিন্তু তাঁর দেখা পেলাম না।
I will arise now and go about the city, through the streets and squares. I will seek the one I love. So I sought him but did not find him.
3 নগররক্ষীরা রাতপাহারা দেবার সময় আমাকে দেখতে পেল। “তোমরা কি তাঁকে দেখেছ, যাঁকে আমার হৃদয় ভালোবাসে?”
I encountered the watchmen on their rounds of the city: “Have you seen the one I love?”
4 তাদের ছেড়ে আমি যখন এগিয়ে গেলাম ঠিক তখনই তাঁর দেখা পেলাম, যাঁকে আমার হৃদয় ভালোবাসে। আমি তাঁকে আঁকড়ে ধরলাম, তাঁকে কিছুতেই ছাড়লাম না, যতক্ষণ না তাঁকে আমার মায়ের বাড়িতে, আমার জন্মদাত্রীর বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেলাম।
I had just passed them when I found the one I love. I held him and would not let go until I had brought him to my mother’s house, to the chamber of the one who conceived me.
5 জেরুশালেমের কন্যারা, মাঠের গজলা হরিণীদের এবং হরিণশাবকদের দিব্যি দিয়ে আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যতক্ষণ না বাসনা জেগে উঠছে, ততক্ষণ প্রেমকে জাগিও না বা তাকে উত্তেজিত কোরো না।
O daughters of Jerusalem, I adjure you by the gazelles and does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until the time is right.
6 বণিকদের বিভিন্ন মশলাপাতি সহযোগে তৈরি গন্ধরস ও কুন্দুরুর সুবাস ছড়িয়ে, মরুপ্রান্তর পেরিয়ে ধোঁয়ার স্তম্ভের মতো কে আসে ওই?
Who is this coming up from the wilderness like a column of smoke, scented with myrrh and frankincense from all the spices of the merchant?
7 ও মা! দেখো, দেখো! এ যে শলোমনের ঘোড়ার গাড়ী, যাকে ষাটজন যোদ্ধা পাহারা দিচ্ছে, যারা ইস্রায়েলের সর্বোত্তম বীর,
Behold, it is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty of the mightiest men of Israel.
8 এরা প্রত্যেকেই সশস্ত্র, প্রত্যেকেই রণাঙ্গনের অভিজ্ঞতালব্ধ, এদের প্রত্যেকের কটিদেশে নিজ নিজ তরবারি সংলগ্ন, রাত্রিকালীন সন্ত্রাসের মোকাবিলায় সর্বদা প্রস্তুত।
All are skilled with the sword, experienced in warfare. Each has his sword at his side prepared for the terror of the night.
9 রাজা শলোমন তাঁর নিজের জন্য এই ঘোড়ার গাড়ীটি তৈরি করেছেন, লেবাননের কাঠ দিয়ে তিনি এটি নির্মাণ করেছেন।
King Solomon has made his carriage out of the timber of Lebanon.
10 তিনি এর স্তম্ভগুলি রুপো দিয়ে, আর তলার অংশ সোনা দিয়ে তৈরি করেছেন, এর বসার গদিটি বেগুনিয়া বস্ত্রে সুসজ্জিত, এর অন্দরসজ্জায় জেরুশালেমের কন্যাদের প্রীতিপূর্ণ কারুকাজ।
He has made its posts of silver, its base of gold, its seat of purple fabric. Its interior is inlaid with love by the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 ওগো সিয়োন-কন্যারা, তোমরা বাইরে বেরিয়ে এসো, দেখো, রাজা শলোমনকে, তিনি মাথায় মুকুট পরছেন, সেই মুকুট যা তাঁর বিবাহের দিন তাঁর মা মাথায় পরিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন, যেদিন তাঁর হৃদয় আনন্দিত হয়ে উঠেছিল।
Come out, O daughters of Zion, and gaze at King Solomon, wearing the crown his mother bestowed on the day of his wedding— the day of his heart’s rejoicing.
