রোমীয় 8

1 অতএব, এখন যারা খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে আছে, তাদের প্রতি কোনও শাস্তি নেই,

There is, then, no condemnation, now, to those who are in Christ Jesus.

2 কারণ খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে জীবনের আত্মার যে বিধান, তা আমাকে পাপ ও মৃত্যুর বিধান থেকে মুক্ত করেছে।

For the law of the Spirit of Life by Christ Jesus, has freed me from the law of sin, and of death.

3 বিধান রক্তমাংসের দ্বারা দুর্বল হওয়াতে যা করতে পারেনি, ঈশ্বর তা করেছেন। তিনি তাঁর নিজ পুত্রকে পাপময় মানবদেহের সাদৃশ্যে পাপার্থক বলিরূপে উৎসর্গ করার জন্য পাঠিয়ে তাই সম্পাদন করেছেন। এভাবে তিনি পাপময় মানুষের রক্তমাংসে পাপের শাস্তি দিলেন,

For what the law could not accomplish in that it was weak through the flesh; God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, accomplished; and by an offering for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.

4 যেন বিধানের ধার্মিক দাবি আমাদের মধ্যে সম্পূর্ণ সিদ্ধ হয়। কারণ আমরা পাপময় প্রকৃতি অনুযায়ী জীবনযাপন করি না কিন্তু আত্মার বশ্যতাধীন হয়ে করি।

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled by us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

5 যারা পাপময় প্রকৃতি অনুযায়ী জীবনযাপন করে, সেই প্রকৃতি যা চায়, তার উপর তারা তাদের মনোনিবেশ করে। কিন্তু যারা পবিত্র আত্মার বশে জীবনযাপন করে, তাদের মন পবিত্র আত্মা যা চান, তার প্রতিই নিবিষ্ট থাকে।

Now, they who live according to the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; and they who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

6 রক্তমাংসের উপরে নিবদ্ধ মানসিকতার পরিণাম হল মৃত্যু, কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মার দ্বারা নিয়ন্ত্রিত মানিসকতা হল জীবন ও শান্তি।

But the mind of the flesh is death; and the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:

7 রক্তমাংসের মানসিকতা হল ঈশ্বরের বিরুদ্ধে শত্রুতা। তা ঈশ্বরের বিধানের প্রতি বশীভূত থাকে না, আর তেমন করতেও পারে না।

because the mind of the flesh is enmity toward God: for, to the law of God it is not subject; neither, indeed, can be.

8 যারা রক্তমাংসের স্বভাব দ্বারা নিয়ন্ত্রিত, তারা ঈশ্বরকে সন্তুষ্ট করতে পারে না।

Those, then, who are in the flesh, can not please God.

9 তোমরা অবশ্য রক্তমাংসের দ্বারা নয়, কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মা দ্বারা নিয়ন্ত্রিত, যদি ঈশ্বরের আত্মা তোমাদের মধ্যে বাস করেন। আর যার মধ্যে খ্রীষ্টের আত্মা নেই, সে খ্রীষ্টের নয়।

Now, you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit; because the Spirit of God dwells in you. But, if any one have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 কিন্তু খ্রীষ্ট যদি তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকেন, পাপের কারণে তোমাদের শরীর মৃত হলেও ধার্মিকতার কারণে তোমাদের আত্মা জীবিত।

And if Christ be in you, the body, indeed, is dead, with respect to sin; but the Spirit is life, with respect to righteousness.

11 যিনি যীশুকে মৃতলোক থেকে উত্থাপিত করেছেন, তাঁর আত্মা যদি তোমাদের মধ্যে বাস করেন, তাহলে যিনি খ্রীষ্টকে মৃতলোক থেকে উত্থাপিত করেছেন, তিনি তোমাদের নশ্বর শরীরকেও তাঁর আত্মার মাধ্যমে সঞ্জীবিত করবেন, যিনি তোমাদের অন্তরে বাস করেন।

For, if the Spirit of him, who raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he who raised up Christ from the dead, will make even your mortal bodies alive, through his Spirit, who dwells in you.

12 অতএব ভাইবোনেরা, আমাদের আইনগত এক বাধ্যবাধকতা আছে—তা কিন্তু রক্তমাংসের বশে জীবনযাপন করার জন্য নয়।

Well, then, brethren, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

13 কারণ তোমরা যদি রক্তমাংসের বশ্যতাধীনে জীবনযাপন করো, তোমাদের মৃত্যু হবে; কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মার দ্বারা যদি শরীরের অপকর্মগুলি ধ্বংস করো, তোমরা জীবিত থাকবে।

Wherefore, if you live according to the flesh, you shall die; but if, through the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.

14 কারণ যারা ঈশ্বরের আত্মা দ্বারা চালিত হয়, তারাই ঈশ্বরের পুত্র।

Because, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.

15 প্রকৃতপক্ষে, তোমরা যে আত্মাকে গ্রহণ করেছ, তিনি তোমাদের ভয়ে জীবন কাটানোর জন্য ক্রীতদাস করেন না; কিন্তু তোমরা দত্তকপুত্র হওয়ার আত্মা লাভ করেছ। তাঁরই দ্বারা আমরা ডেকে উঠি “আব্বা! পিতা” বলে।

For you have not received the spirit of bondage, again, to fear; but you have received the spirit of adoption, by which we cry, Abba, Father.

16 পবিত্র আত্মা স্বয়ং আমাদের আত্মার সঙ্গে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছেন যে, আমরা ঈশ্বরের সন্তান।

Also this spirit bears witness, together with our spirit, that we are children of God.

17 এখন, যদি আমরা সন্তান হই, তাহলে আমরা উত্তরাধিকারীও—ঈশ্বরের উত্তরাধিকারী ও খ্রীষ্টের সঙ্গে সহ-উত্তরাধিকারী। কিন্তু যদি আমরা তাঁর মহিমার অংশীদার হতে চাই তবে তাঁর কষ্টভোগেরও অংশীদার হতে হবে।

And if children, then heirs; heirs, indeed, of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if, indeed, we suffer with him, that with him also we may be glorified.

18 আমি এরকম মনে করি যে, আমাদের মধ্যে যে মহিমার প্রকাশ ঘটবে, আমাদের বর্তমানকালের কষ্টভোগের সঙ্গে তার কোনো তুলনা হতে পারে না।

However, I esteem not the sufferings of the present time, as worthy of comparison with the glory, which is hereafter to be revealed in us.

19 ঈশ্বরের পুত্রগণের প্রকাশ পাওয়ার প্রতীক্ষায় সমস্ত সৃষ্টি সাগ্রহে অপেক্ষা করে আছে।

For the earnest expectation of the creature, is waiting for the revelation of the sons of God.

20 কারণ সৃষ্টি অলীকতার বশীভূত হয়েছিল, তার নিজের ইচ্ছায় নয়, কিন্তু যিনি বশীভূত করেছিলেন, তাঁর ইচ্ছায়;

For the creature was subjected to frailty, (not of its own choice, but by him who has subjected it, ) in hope,

21 প্রত্যাশা ছিল এই যে, সৃষ্টি স্বয়ং অবক্ষয়ের বাঁধন থেকে মুক্ত হবে এবং ঈশ্বরের সন্তানদের গৌরবোজ্জ্বল স্বাধীনতায় অংশীদার হবে।

that it may be liberated, from the bondage of a perishing state, and brought into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.

22 আমরা জানি যে, সমস্ত সৃষ্টি বর্তমানকাল পর্যন্ত সন্তান প্রসবের যন্ত্রণার মতো আর্তনাদ করছে।

Besides, we know, that the whole creation sigh together, and travail in anguish till the present time.

23 শুধু তাই নয়, কিন্তু আমরা নিজেরাও, যারা আত্মার প্রথম ফল পেয়েছি, আমাদের দত্তকপুত্র হয়ে স্বীকৃতি পাওয়ার গভীর প্রতীক্ষায় ও শরীরের মুক্তির জন্য অন্তরে আর্তনাদ করছি।

And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first fruit of the Spirit; even we ourselves, groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption; namely, the redemption of our body.

24 কারণ এই প্রত্যাশাতেই আমরা পরিত্রাণ লাভ করেছি। কিন্তু যে প্রত্যাশা দৃষ্টিগোচর, তা আদৌ কোনো প্রত্যাশা নয়। যার ইতিমধ্যে কিছু আছে, তার জন্য কেন সে প্রত্যাশা করবে?

For even we are saved by hope. Now, hope that is attained, is not hope; for who can hope for that which he enjoys?

25 কিন্তু যা আমাদের নেই, তার জন্য যদি আমরা প্রত্যাশা করি, তাহলে তার জন্য ধৈর্যসহ প্রতীক্ষা করি।

But if we hope for that which we do not enjoy, then, with patience, we wait for it.

26 একইভাবে পবিত্র আত্মা আমাদের দুর্বলতায় আমাদের সাহায্য করেন। সঠিক কী প্রার্থনা করতে হয়, তা আমরা জানি না, কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মা স্বয়ং আমাদের পক্ষে আর্তস্বরে প্রার্থনা করেন, যা ভাষায় প্রকাশ করা যায় না।

In like manner, also, the Spirit helps our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for, as we ought; however, the Spirit himself intercedes for us, in sighs, which can not be uttered.

27 যিনি আমাদের সকলের হৃদয় অনুসন্ধান করেন, তিনি পবিত্র আত্মার মানসিকতা জানেন, কারণ পবিত্র আত্মা ঈশ্বরের ইচ্ছা অনুযায়ীই পবিত্রগণের জন্য মিনতি করেন।

But he who searches the hearts, knows the mind of the Spirit; that, according to the will of God, he makes intercession for the saints.

28 আর আমরা জানি যে, যারা ঈশ্বরকে ভালোবাসে, যারা তাঁর ইচ্ছা অনুসারে আহূত, তিনি সব বিষয়ে তাদের মঙ্গলসাধনের জন্য কাজ করেন।

Besides, we know, that all things work together for good, to them who love God; to them, who are called according to his purpose.

29 কারণ ঈশ্বর যাদের পূর্ব থেকে জানতেন, তিনি তাদের তাঁর পুত্রের প্রতিমূর্তির সাদৃশ্য দান করবেন বলে নির্দিষ্ট করে রেখেছিলেন, যেন তিনি অনেক ভাইয়ের মধ্যে প্রথমজাত হন।

For, whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son; that he might be the first born among many brethren.

30 আবার যাদের তিনি পূর্ব থেকে নির্দিষ্ট করেছিলেন, তাদের তিনি আহ্বানও করলেন, যাদের আহ্বান করলেন, তিনি তাদের নির্দোষ প্রতিপন্ন করলেন, আর যাদের নির্দোষ প্রতিপন্ন করলেন, তাদের মহিমান্বিতও করলেন।

Moreover, whom he predestinated, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified; and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 এসবের প্রত্যুত্তরে তাহলে আমরা কী বলব? ঈশ্বর যদি আমাদের পক্ষে থাকেন, তাহলে কে আমাদের বিরোধী হতে পারে?

What shall we say, then, to these things? Since God is for us, who can be against us?

32 যিনি তাঁর নিজ পুত্রকেও নিষ্কৃতি দেননি, কিন্তু আমাদের সকলের জন্য তাঁকে সমর্পণ করেছেন—তিনি কি তাঁর সঙ্গে সবকিছুই অনুগ্রহপূর্বক আমাদের দান করবেন না?

He, certainly, who spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all; how will he not, with him, also, graciously give us all things?

33 ঈশ্বর যাদের মনোনীত করেছেন, তাদের বিরুদ্ধে কে অভিযোগ করবে? ঈশ্বরই তাদের নির্দোষ প্রতিপন্ন করেন।

Who will bring an accusation against the elect of God? Is it God who justifies them?

34 কে তাহলে দোষী সাব্যস্ত করবে? খ্রীষ্ট যীশু, যিনি মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন—তার চেয়েও বড়ো কথা, যাঁকে জীবনে উত্থাপিত করা হয়েছিল—তিনি ঈশ্বরের ডানদিকে উপস্থিত আছেন এবং আমাদের জন্য অনুরোধও করছেন।

Who is he, who condemns them? It is Christ, who died; or rather, who has risen: who also, is at the right hand of God; and who makes intercession for us?

35 খ্রীষ্টের প্রেম থেকে কে আমাদের বিচ্ছিন্ন করবে? কষ্ট-সংকট, না দুর্দশা, না নির্যাতন, না দুর্ভিক্ষ, না নগ্নতা, না বিপদ, না তরোয়াল—এর কোনোটিই নয়?

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 যেমন লেখা আছে, “তোমার জন্য আমরা প্রতিনিয়ত মৃত্যুর মুখোমুখি হই, বলির মেষের মতো আমাদের গণ্য করা হয়।”

As it is written, "Truly, for thy sake, we are put to death all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

37 না, যিনি আমাদের প্রেম করেছেন, তাঁরই মাধ্যমে আমরা এসব বিষয়ে বিজয়ীর থেকেও বেশি বিজয়ী হয়েছি।

Nay, in all these things, we do more than overcome, through him who has loved us.

38 কারণ আমি নিশ্চিতরূপে জানতে পেরেছি যে, মৃত্যু বা জীবন, স্বর্গদূতেরা বা ভূতেরা, বর্তমান বা ভাবীকালের কোনো বিষয়, না কোনো পরাক্রম,

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life; neither angels, nor principalities; nor powers; neither things present, nor to come;

39 ঊর্ধ্বলোক বা অধোলোক বা সমস্ত সৃষ্টির অন্য কোনো বিষয়, কোনো কিছুই আমাদের প্রভু, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে অবস্থিত ঈশ্বরের প্রেম থেকে আমাদের বিচ্ছিন্ন করতে পারবে না।

neither hight, nor depth; nor any created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
