রোমীয় 6
1 তাহলে, আমরা কী বলব? আমরা কি পাপ করতেই থাকব যেন অনুগ্রহ বৃদ্ধি পায়?
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that favour may abound?
2 কোনোমতেই নয়! আমরা পাপের পক্ষে মৃত, তাহলে কী করে আমরা আবার পাপে জীবনযাপন করব?
By no means. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 অথবা, তোমরা কি জানো না, আমরা যারা খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে বাপ্তাইজিত হয়েছি, আমরা সকলে তাঁর মৃত্যুর উদ্দেশে বাপ্তাইজিত হয়েছি?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yahushua the Messiah were baptized into his death?
4 সেই কারণে আমরা মৃত্যুর উদ্দেশে বাপ্তিষ্মের মাধ্যমে তাঁর সঙ্গে সমাধিপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছি, যেন খ্রীষ্ট যেমন পিতার মহিমার মাধ্যমে মৃতলোক থেকে উত্থিত হয়েছিলেন, তেমনই আমরাও এক নতুন জীবন লাভ করি।
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as the Messiah was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 যদি আমরা এভাবে তাঁর মৃত্যুতে তাঁর সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত হয়ে থাকি, আমরা নিশ্চিতরূপে তাঁর পুনরুত্থানেও তাঁর সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত হব।
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 কারণ আমরা জানি যে, আমাদের পুরোনো সত্তা তাঁর সঙ্গে ক্রুশবিদ্ধ হয়েছে যেন আমাদের পাপদেহ শক্তিহীন হয় এবং আমরা আর পাপের ক্রীতদাস না থাকি—
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 কারণ যার মৃত্যু হয়েছে, সে পাপ থেকে মুক্ত হয়েছে।
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 এখন যদি আমরা খ্রীষ্টের সঙ্গে মৃত্যুবরণ করেছি, আমরা বিশ্বাস করি যে আমরা তাঁর সঙ্গে জীবিতও থাকব।
Now if we be dead with the Messiah, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 কারণ আমরা জানি, খ্রীষ্টকে যেহেতু মৃতলোক থেকে উত্থাপিত করা হয়েছিল, তিনি আর মরতে পারেন না; তাঁর উপরে মৃত্যুর আর কোনও কর্তৃত্ব নেই।
Knowing that the Messiah being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 যে মৃত্যু তিনি বরণ করেছেন, পাপের সম্বন্ধে একবারেই তিনি চিরকালের জন্য সেই মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন; কিন্তু তাঁর যে জীবন আছে তার দ্বারা তিনি ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যেই জীবিত আছেন।
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto YHWH.
11 একইভাবে, নিজেদের তোমরা পাপের ক্ষমতার প্রতি মৃত, কিন্তু খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে জীবিত বলে গণ্য করো।
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto YHWH through Yahushua the Messiah our Saviour.
12 অতএব, তোমাদের নশ্বর দেহে পাপকে কর্তৃত্ব করতে দিয়ো না, তা না হলে, তোমরা তার দৈহিক কামনাবাসনার আজ্ঞাবহ হয়ে পড়বে।
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 তোমাদের শরীরের অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গকে দুষ্টতার উপকরণরূপে পাপের কাছে সমর্পণ কোরো না, বরং মৃত্যু থেকে জীবিত মানুষরূপে নিজেদের ঈশ্বরের কাছে সমর্পণ করো এবং তাঁর কাছে তোমাদের শরীরের অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গগুলি ধার্মিকতার উপকরণরূপে সমর্পণ করো।
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto YHWH, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto YHWH.
14 কারণ পাপ তোমাদের উপরে আর কর্তৃত্ব করবে না, কারণ তোমরা বিধানের অধীন নও, কিন্তু অনুগ্রহের অধীন।
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under favour.
15 তাহলে কী বলা যায়? বিধানের অধীন নই, কিন্তু অনুগ্রহের অধীন বলে আমরা কি পাপ করেই যাব? কোনোভাবেই নয়!
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under favour? By no means.
16 তোমরা কি জানো না যে, ক্রীতদাসের মতো আদেশ পালনের জন্য যখন তোমরা কারও কাছে নিজেদের সমর্পণ করো, যার আদেশ তোমরা পালন করো, তোমরা তারই ক্রীতদাস হও—হয় তোমরা পাপের ক্রীতদাস, যা মৃত্যুর অভিমুখে নিয়ে যায়, অথবা বাধ্যতার দাস, যা ধার্মিকতার পথে চালিত করে?
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 কিন্তু ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ দিই যে, তোমরা যদিও পাপের ক্রীতদাস ছিলে, শিক্ষার যে আদর্শ তোমাদের কাছে রাখা হয়েছিল, তা তোমরা সমস্ত অন্তর দিয়ে পালন করেছ।
But YHWH be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 তোমাদের পাপ থেকে মুক্ত করা হয়েছে এবং তোমরা ধার্মিকতার ক্রীতদাস হয়েছ।
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 তোমরা যেহেতু তোমাদের স্বাভাবিক সত্তায় দুর্বল তাই আমি একথা সাধারণ মানুষের মতোই বলছি। যেমন তোমরা তোমাদের শরীরের অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গকে অশুদ্ধতা ও ক্রমবর্ধমান দুষ্টতার কাছে সমর্পণ করতে, তেমনই এখন সেগুলি ধার্মিকতার ক্রীতদাসত্বে সমর্পণ করো, যা পবিত্রতার অভিমুখে চালিত করে।
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 তোমরা যখন পাপের ক্রীতদাস ছিলে, তখন তোমরা ধার্মিকতার নিয়ন্ত্রণ থেকে মুক্ত ছিলে।
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 যেসব বিষয়ের জন্য তোমরা এখন লজ্জাবোধ করছ, সেই সময় তোমরা তা থেকে কী ফল সংগ্রহ করেছিলে? সেই সমস্ত বিষয়ের পরিণাম মৃত্যু!
What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 কিন্তু এখন, যেহেতু তোমাদের পাপ থেকে মুক্ত করা হয়েছে এবং তোমরা ঈশ্বরের ক্রীতদাস হয়েছ, যে ফল তোমরা লাভ করছ, তা হল পবিত্রতা এবং তার পরিণাম হল অনন্ত জীবন। (aiōnios g166)
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to YHWH, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
