গীতসংহিতা 83
1 একটি গান। আসফের গীত। হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি নীরব থেকো না; আমার প্রতি বধির হোয়ো না, হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি আমার কাছ থেকে দূরে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকো না।
“A song or psalm of Assaph.” O God, take no rest for thyself: be not silent and keep not still, O God!
2 দেখো, আমার শত্রুরা কেমন গর্জন করে, দেখো, আমার বিপক্ষরা কেমন তাদের মাথা তোলে।
For, lo, thy enemies make a tumult, and they that hate thee have lifted up their head.
3 তারা ধূর্ততায় তোমার প্রজাদের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করে; তারা তোমার প্রিয়জনদের বিরুদ্ধে চক্রান্ত করে।
Against thy people they take crafty secret device, and they consult against those whom thou protectest.
4 “এসো,” তারা বলে, “আমরা তাদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করি, আর যেন ইস্রায়েলের নাম মনে না রাখা হয়।”
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; and the name of Israel shall be remembered no more.
5 তারা এক মনে চক্রান্ত করে; তোমার বিরুদ্ধে তারা একজোট গঠন করে—
For they have consulted cordially together; against thee they make a covenant:
6 ইদোমের তাঁবুগুলি আর ইশ্মায়েলীয়রা, মোয়াব আর হাগরীয়রা,
The tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites: Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 গিব্লীয়, অম্মোন আর অমালেকীয়রা, সোরের বাসিন্দাদের সঙ্গে, ফিলিস্তিয়া।
Gebal, and 'Ammon, and 'Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 এমনকি আসিরিয়া তাদের সঙ্গে একজোট হয়েছে আর লোটের উত্তরপুরুষদের সঙ্গে একজোট হয়েছে।
Also Asshur is joined with them; they have become an arm unto the children of Lot. (Selah)
9 তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সেইরূপ করো যেমন মিদিয়নদের প্রতি করেছিলে, কীশোন নদীতে যেমন সীষরা আর যাবীনের প্রতি করেছিলে,
Do unto them as [unto] Midian; as to Sissera, as to Jabin, at the brook Kishon:
10 ঐনদোরে যারা বিনষ্ট হয়েছিল আর মাটিতে পরে থাকা আবর্জনার মতো হয়েছিল।
Who were annihilated at 'En-dor; they became as dung for the ground.
11 বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিরা ওরেব ও সেবের মতো আর তাদের অধিপতিরা সেবহ ও সল্মুন্নার মতো মরে যাক,
Render them, their nobles, like 'Oreb, and like Zeeb; yea, like Zebach and like Zalmunna' all their princes;
12 কেননা তারা বলেছিল, “এসো, আমরা ঈশ্বরের চারণভূমি অধিকার করি।”
Who said, Let us conquer for ourselves the dwellings of God,
13 হে ঈশ্বর, তাদের ঘূর্ণীয়মান ধুলোর মতো, বাতাসের সামনে তুষের মতো করো।
O my God, render them like the thistle-down, like stubble before the wind.
14 আগুন যেমন জঙ্গল গ্রাস করে অথবা আগুনের শিখা যা পর্বতসকল জ্বালিয়ে দেয়,
As the fire burneth up a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire:
15 সেইরকম তোমার প্রচণ্ড ঝড়ে তাদের তাড়া করো আর তোমার ঝড়ে তাদের আতঙ্কিত করো।
So pursue them with thy storm, and with thy whirlwind do thou terrify them.
16 হে সদাপ্রভু, তাদের মুখ লজ্জায় ঢেকে দাও, যেন তারা তোমার নাম অন্বেষণ করে।
Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Lord!
17 তারা চিরকাল যেন লজ্জিত আর আতঙ্কিত হয়; তারা যেন অপমানে বিনষ্ট হয়।
Let them be made ashamed and terrified for ever and aye; yea, let them be put to the blush and perish:
18 তারা জানুক যে একমাত্র তোমারই নাম সদাপ্রভু, আর একমাত্র তুমিই সমগ্র জগতের উপর পরাৎপর।
That they may know that thou, whose name is the Eternal, art by thyself alone, the Most High over all the earth.
