গীতসংহিতা 82

1 আসফের গীত। ঈশ্বর মহাসভায় নিজের স্থান গ্রহণ করেছেন; তিনি “দেবতাদের” মাঝে বিচার সম্পন্ন করেন:

Of Asaph. God stood in the synagoge of goddis; forsothe he demeth goddis in the myddil.

2 কত কাল তুমি যারা অসৎ তাদের পক্ষ নেবে আর দুষ্টদের পক্ষপাতিত্ব করবে?

Hou longe demen ye wickidnesse; and taken the faces of synneris?

3 যারা দুর্বল আর অনাথ তাদের প্রতি তুমি সুবিচার করো, যারা দরিদ্র আর পীড়িত তাদের অধিকার রক্ষা করো।

Deme ye to the nedi man, and to the modirles child; iustifie ye the meke man and pore.

4 যারা দুর্বল আর অভাবী তাদের মুক্ত করো; দুষ্টদের দেশ থেকে তাদের উদ্ধার করো।

Raueische ye out a pore man; and delyuere ye the nedi man fro the hond of the synner.

5 “সেই ‘দেবতারা’ কিছুই জানে না, তারা কিছুই বোঝে না তারা অন্ধকারে হেঁটে বেড়ায়; আর জগতের ভিত্তি কেঁপে ওঠে।

Thei knewen not, nether vndirstoden, thei goen in derknessis; alle the foundementis of erthe schulen be moued.

6 “আমি বলি, ‘তোমরা “ঈশ্বর” তোমরা সবাই পরাৎপরের সন্তান।’

I seide, Ye ben goddis; and alle ye ben the sones of hiy God.

7 কিন্তু সামান্য মানুষের মতো তোমাদের মৃত্যু হবে; অন্যান্য সব শাসকের মতো তোমাদেরও পতন হবে।”

But ye schulen die as men; and ye schulen falle doun as oon of the princis.

8 ওঠো, হে ঈশ্বর, এই জগতের বিচার করো, কারণ সমস্ত জাতি তোমার উত্তরাধিকার।

Ryse, thou God, deme thou the erthe; for thou schalt haue eritage in alle folkis.
