গীতসংহিতা 72
1 শলোমনের গীত। হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি রাজাকে ন্যায়পরায়ণতা আর রাজপুত্রকে ধার্মিকতা প্রদান করো।
For Solomon. O God, give your judgement to the king, and your righteousness to the king's son;
2 তিনি ধার্মিকতায় তোমার ভক্তদের আর ন্যায়পরায়ণতায় তোমার পীড়িতদের বিচার করবেন।
[that he may] judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with judgement.
3 পর্বতগুলি সবার জন্য সমৃদ্ধি নিয়ে আসুক, আর পাহাড়গুলি ধার্মিকতার ফল প্রদান করুক।
Let the mountains and the hills raise peace to your people:
4 তিনি লোকেদের মাঝে পীড়িতদের বিচার করুন আর অভাবীদের ছেলেমেয়েদের রক্ষা করুন; তিনি অত্যাচারীকে চূর্ণ করুন।
he shall judge the poor of the people in righteousness, and save the children of the needy; and shall bring low the false accuser.
5 যতদিন সূর্য থাকবে ততদিন আর যতদিন চন্দ্রের অস্তিত্ব রইবে, তিনি স্থায়ী হবেন, বংশপরম্পরায় হবেন।
And he shall continue as long as the sun, and before the moon for ever.
6 কাটা ঘাসের প্রান্তরে তিনি বৃষ্টির মতো নেমে আসবেন, জলধারার মতো যা পৃথিবীকে সেচন করে।
He shall come down as rain upon a fleece; and as drops falling upon the earth.
7 তাঁর সময়ে ধার্মিক উন্নতি লাভ করবে আর চন্দ্রের শেষকাল পর্যন্ত সমৃদ্ধি উপচে পড়বে।
In his days shall righteousness spring up; and abundance of peace till the moon be removed.
8 তিনি সমুদ্র থেকে সমুদ্র পর্যন্ত আর নদী থেকে পৃথিবীর প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত শাসন করুন।
And he shall have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.
9 মরুভূমির গোষ্ঠীসকল তাঁর সামনে নত হবে এবং তাঁর শত্রুরা মাটির ধুলো চাটবে।
The Ethiopians shall fall down before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 তর্শীশ আর সুদূর উপকূলবর্তী দেশের রাজারা তাঁর উদ্দেশে নৈবেদ্য নিয়ে আসুক। শিবা ও সবার রাজারা তাঁর জন্য উপহার নিয়ে আসুক।
The kings of Tharsis, and the isles, shall bring presents: the kings of the Arabians and Saba shall offer gifts.
11 রাজারা সবাই তাঁর সামনে নত হোক আর সমস্ত জাতি তাঁর সেবা করুক।
And all kings shall worship him; all the Gentiles shall serve him.
12 তিনি আর্তনাদকারী অভাবীদের আর অসহায় পীড়িতদের উদ্ধার করবেন।
For he has delivered the poor from the oppressor; and the needy who had no helper.
13 তিনি দরিদ্র ও অভাবীদের প্রতি দয়া করবেন এবং অভাবীদের মৃত্যু থেকে রক্ষা করবেন।
He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall deliver the souls of the needy.
14 তিনিই তাদের অত্যাচার ও হিংসা থেকে মুক্ত করবেন, কারণ তাঁর দৃষ্টিতে তাদের রক্ত মূল্যবান।
He shall redeem their souls from usury and injustice: and their name [shall be] precious before him.
15 রাজা দীর্ঘজীবী হোন! শিবা দেশের সোনা তাঁকে দেওয়া হোক। লোকেরা তাঁর জন্য চিরকাল প্রার্থনা করুক এবং তাঁকে সর্বদা আশীর্বাদ করুক।
And he shall live, and there shall be given him of the gold of Arabia: and [men] shall pray for him continually; [and] all the day shall they praise him.
16 দেশে শস্যের প্রাচুর্য হোক; পাহাড়ের উপরে সেসব দুলে উঠুক। লেবাননের গাছের মতো ফলের গাছ উন্নতি লাভ করুক আর মাঠের ঘাসের মতো সমৃদ্ধ হোক।
There shall be an establishment on the earth on the tops of the mountains: the fruit thereof shall be exalted above Libanus, and they of the city shall flourish as grass of the earth.
17 তাঁর নাম চিরস্থায়ী হোক; ততদিন হোক যতদিন সূর্য আলো দেবে। সমুদয় জাতি তাঁর মাধ্যমে আশীর্বাদ পাবে, এবং তারা তাঁকে ধন্য বলবে।
Let his name be blessed for ever: his name shall endure longer than the sun: and all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
18 সদাপ্রভু ঈশ্বর, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা হোক, কেবলমাত্র তিনিই চমৎকার কার্যাবলি সাধন করেন।
Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, who alone does wonders.
19 চিরকাল তাঁর মহানামের প্রশংসা হোক; আর সমস্ত পৃথিবী তাঁর মহিমায় পূর্ণ হোক।
And blessed is his glorious name for ever, even for ever and ever: and all the earth shall be filled with his glory. So be it, so be it.
20 যিশয়ের ছেলে দাউদের প্রার্থনা শেষ হল।
