1 সংগীত পরিচালকের জন্য। দাউদের মিকতাম। যখন অরাম-নহরয়িমের এবং অরাম-সোবার সঙ্গে তার যুদ্ধ হয় এবং যোয়াব যখন ফিরে এসে লবণ উপত্যকায় বারো হাজার ইদোমীয়দের হত্যা করেছিলেন, তখন দাউদ এই শিক্ষামূলক গীতটি রচনা করেন। সুর: “নিয়মের কমল।” হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি আমাদের পরিত্যাগ করেছ আর আমাদের প্রতিরক্ষা ভগ্ন করেছ; তুমি ক্রুদ্ধ হয়েছ—এবার আমাদের পুনরুদ্ধার করো!
To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
2 তুমি আমাদের দেশ ঝাঁকিয়ে তুলেছ এবং বিদীর্ণ করেছ, দেশের ভাঙনের প্রতিকার করো কারণ দেশ কাঁপছে।
Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
3 তুমি তোমার প্রজাদের দুর্দশার সময় দেখিয়েছ, তুমি আমাদের এমন সুরা দিয়েছ যাতে আমরা টলমল হয়েছি।
Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4 কিন্তু যারা তোমাকে সম্ভ্রম করে, তুমি তাদের জন্য একটি পতাকা তুলেছ, যেন তা সত্যের পক্ষে তুলে ধরা যায়।
Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Selah)
5 তোমার ডান হাত দিয়ে তুমি আমাদের রক্ষা করো ও সাহায্য করো, যেন তারা উদ্ধার পায় যাদের তুমি ভালোবাসো।
That thy beloved may be delivered; save [with] thy right hand, and hear me.
6 ঈশ্বর তাঁর পবিত্রস্থান থেকে কথা বলেছেন: “জয়ধ্বনিতে আমি শিখিম বিভক্ত করব, সুক্কোতের উপত্যকা আমি পরিমাপ করে দেব।
God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 গিলিয়দ আমার, ও মনঃশিও আমার; ইফ্রয়িম আমার শিরস্ত্রাণ, যিহূদা আমার রাজদণ্ড।
Gilead [is] mine, and Manasseh [is] mine; Ephraim also [is] the strength of mine head; Judah [is] my lawgiver;
8 মোয়াব আমার হাত ধোয়ার পাত্র, ইদোমের উপরে আমি আমার চটি নিক্ষেপ করব; ফিলিস্তিয়ার উপরে আমি জয়ধ্বনি করব।”
Moab [is] my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
9 কে আমাকে সুরক্ষিত নগরের মধ্যে নিয়ে যাবে? কে ইদোম পর্যন্ত আমাকে পথ দেখাবে?
Who will bring me [into] the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
10 হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি কি এখন আমাদের ত্যাগ করেছ? তুমি কি আমাদের সৈন্যদলের সাথে আর যাবে না?
[Wilt] not thou, O God, [which] hadst cast us off? and [thou], O God, [which] didst not go out with our armies?
11 আমাদের শত্রুদের বিরুদ্ধে সাহায্য করো, কারণ মানুষের সাহায্য নিষ্ফল।
Give us help from trouble: for vain [is] the help of man.
12 ঈশ্বরের সাথে আমরা জয়লাভ করব, এবং তিনি আমাদের শত্রুদের পদদলিত করবেন।
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he [it is that] shall tread down our enemies.
