গীতসংহিতা 51
1 সংগীত পরিচালকের জন্য। দাউদের গীত। বৎশেবার সঙ্গে ব্যভিচারে লিপ্ত হওয়ার পরে যখন ভাববাদী নাথন দাউদের কাছে গিয়েছিলেন। হে ঈশ্বর, তোমার অবিচল প্রেম অনুযায়ী আমার উপর দয়া করো; তোমার অপার করুণা অনুযায়ী আমার সমস্ত অপরাধ মার্জনা করো।
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. When Nathan the Prophet had come to him, after he had gone in unto Bath-sheba. Be favorable unto me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness, And, in the multitude of thy compassions, blot out my transgressions;
2 আমার সমস্ত অন্যায় মুছে দাও আর আমার পাপ থেকে আমাকে শুচি করো।
Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And, from my sin, make me pure;
3 কারণ আমি আমার অপরাধসকল জানি, আর আমার পাপ সর্বদা আমার সামনে আছে।
For, my transgressions, do, I, acknowledge, And, my sin, is before me continually:
4 তোমার বিরুদ্ধে, তোমারই বিরুদ্ধে, আমি পাপ করেছি আর তোমার দৃষ্টিতে যা অন্যায় তাই করেছি; অতএব তুমি তোমার বাক্যে ধর্মময় আর যখন বিচার করো তখন ন্যায়পরায়ণ।
Against thee—against thee alone, have I sinned, And, wickedness—in thine eyes, have I done, —That thou mayest, Be justified when thou speakest, —Be clear when thou judgest.
5 নিশ্চয়ই অপরাধে আমার জন্ম হয়েছে, পাপে আমার মা আমাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছিলেন।
Lo! in iniquity, was I brought forth, And, in sin, did my mother conceive me.
6 তবুও মাতৃগর্ভে তুমি বিশ্বস্ততা কামনা করেছিলে; সেই গোপন স্থানে তুমি আমাকে প্রজ্ঞা শিক্ষা দিয়েছিলে।
Lo! faithfulness, hast thou desired in the inward parts, Yea, in the hidden part, wilt thou cause me to know, wisdom.
7 আমার পাপ থেকে আমাকে শুদ্ধ করো, আর আমি নির্মল হব; আমাকে পরিষ্কার করো, আর আমি বরফের থেকেও সাদা হব।
Wilt thou cleanse me from sin with hyssop, That I may be pure? Wilt thou wash me, That I may be whiter, than snow?
8 আমাকে আনন্দ ও উল্লাসের বাক্য শোনাও; আমার হাড়গোড়, যা তুমি পিষে দিয়েছ, এখন আমোদ করুক।
Wilt thou cause me to hear joy and gladness? The bones thou hast crushed would exult.
9 আমার পাপ থেকে তোমার মুখ লুকাও আর আমার সব অন্যায় মার্জনা করো।
Hide thy face from my sins, —And, all mine iniquities, blot out;
10 হে ঈশ্বর, আমার মধ্যে এক বিশুদ্ধ হৃদয় সৃষ্টি করো, আর এক অবিচল আত্মা আমার মধ্যে সঞ্জীবিত করো।
A pure heart, create for me, O God, And, a steadfast spirit, renew within me.
11 আমাকে তোমার সান্নিধ্য থেকে দূর কোরো না আর তোমার পবিত্র আত্মাকে আমার কাছ থেকে নিয়ে নিয়ো না।
Do not cast me away from thy presence, And, thy Holy Spirit, do not take from me:
12 তোমার পরিত্রাণের আনন্দ আবার আমাকে ফিরিয়ে দাও আর আমাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখতে এক ইচ্ছুক আত্মা দাও।
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, And, with a willing spirit, wilt thou uphold me: —
13 তখন আমি অপরাধীদের তোমার পথ শিক্ষা দেব, যেন পাপীরা তোমার দিকে ফিরে আসে।
I would teach transgressors thy ways, And, sinners, unto thee, should return.
14 রক্তপাতের দোষ থেকে আমাকে উদ্ধার করো, হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি আমার ঈশ্বর আমার রক্ষাকর্তা, আর আমার জিভ তোমার ন্যায়পরায়ণতার বিষয়ে গান করবে।
Rescue me from shed-blood, O God, the God of my salvation, My tongue should shout thy righteousness;
15 হে সদাপ্রভু, আমার ঠোঁট খুলে দাও, আর আমার মুখ তোমার প্রশংসা ঘোষণা করবে।
O My Lord! my lips, wilt thou open, And, my mouth, shall declare thy praise.
16 তুমি নৈবেদ্যতে আমোদ করো না, করলে আমি নিয়ে আসতাম; তুমি হোমবলি চাওনি।
For thou wilt not desire sacrifice—that I should give it, Ascending-offering, will not please:
17 ভগ্ন আত্মা আমার নৈবেদ্য, হে ঈশ্বর; ভগ্ন ও অনুতপ্ত হৃদয় হে ঈশ্বর, তুমি তুচ্ছ করবে না।
The sacrifices of God, are a spirit that is broken, —A heart—broken and crushed, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 তুমি আপন অনুগ্রহে সিয়োনের মঙ্গল করো, জেরুশালেমের প্রাচীর নির্মাণ করো।
Do good, in thy good-pleasure, unto Zion, Wilt thou build the walls of Jerusalem!
19 তখন তুমি ধার্মিকদের নৈবেদ্যে আর সম্পূর্ণ হোমবলিতে আমোদ করবে; তখন লোকে তোমার বেদিতে বলদ উৎসর্গ করবে।
Then, shalt thou desire the sacrifices of righteousness, Ascending-sacrifice and whole burnt-offering, Then, shall ascend upon thine altar, young bulls.
