গীতসংহিতা 48
1 একটি সংগীত। কোরহ বংশের সন্তানদের একটি গীত। আমাদের ঈশ্বরের নগরীতে এবং তাঁর পবিত্র পর্বতে, সদাপ্রভু মহান, আর তিনি সর্বোচ্চ প্রশংসার যোগ্য।
A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.
2 কী সুন্দর সেই উচ্চভূমি, যা সারা পৃথিবীর আনন্দস্থল, সাফোনের উচ্চতার মতো সিয়োন পর্বত, যা মহান রাজার নগরী।
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, [on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 ঈশ্বর, সেই নগরীর অট্টালিকা সমূহের মধ্যে উচ্চদুর্গ বলে নিজেকে প্রকাশ করেছেন।
God hath made himself known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 পৃথিবীর রাজারা দলে দলে যোগ দিয়েছে এবং নগরীর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযান করেছে।
For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together.
5 কিন্তু তারা যখন তাকে দেখেছে, তারা বিস্মিত হয়েছে, আতঙ্কিত হয়েছে আর পালিয়ে গেছে।
They saw it, then were they amazed; they were dismayed, they hasted away.
6 আতঙ্ক তাদের সেখানে গ্রাস করেছিল, এবং প্রসববেদনায় ক্লিষ্ট মহিলার মতো যন্ত্রণায় কুঁকড়ে গিয়েছিল।
Trembling took hold of them there; pain, as of a woman in travail.
7 পূবের বাতাসে চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ হওয়া তর্শীশের জাহাজের মতো তুমি তাদের ধ্বংস করেছিলে।
With the east wind thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
8 আমরা যেমন শুনেছি, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভুর নগরীতে, আমাদের ঈশ্বরের নগরীতে তেমন দেখেছি: ঈশ্বর চিরকাল তাকে সুরক্ষিত রাখেন।
As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. (Selah)
9 তোমার মন্দিরে, হে ঈশ্বর, আমরা তোমার অবিচল প্রেমে ধ্যান করি।
We have thought on thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.
10 তোমার নামের মতো, হে ঈশ্বর, তোমার প্রশংসা পৃথিবীর প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত পৌঁছায়; তোমার শক্তিশালী ডান হাত ধার্মিকতায় পূর্ণ।
As is thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
11 তোমার ন্যায়বিচারে, সিয়োন পর্বত উল্লাস করে, যিহূদার গ্রামগুলি আনন্দিত হয়।
Let mount Zion be glad, let the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of thy judgments.
12 যাও, জেরুশালেম নগরী পরিদর্শন করো, তার দুর্গসকল গণনা করো;
Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.
13 তার দৃঢ় প্রাচীর লক্ষ্য করো, তার অট্টালিকাগুলি দেখো, যেন তুমি আগামী প্রজন্মের কাছে এই সবের বর্ণনা করতে পারো।
Mark ye welt her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.
14 কারণ এই ঈশ্বর অনন্তকাল ধরে আমাদের ঈশ্বর; তিনি শেষ পর্যন্ত আমাদের পথপ্রদর্শক হবেন।
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide [even] unto death.
