গীতসংহিতা 37
1 দাউদের গীত। যারা দুষ্ট তাদের দিকে তাকিয়ে বিচলিত হোয়ো না যারা মন্দ কাজ করে তাদের দেখে ঈর্ষা কোরো না;
[A Psalm] of David. Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.
2 কারণ ঘাসের মতো তারা অচিরেই শুকিয়ে যাবে, সবুজ লতার মতো তারা অচিরেই বিনষ্ট হবে।
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 সদাপ্রভুতে আস্থা রাখো আর সদাচরণ করো; এই দেশে বসবাস করো আর নিরাপদ আশ্রয় উপভোগ করো।
Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and follow after faithfulness.
4 সদাপ্রভুতে আনন্দ করো, তিনিই তোমার মনের অভিলাষ পূর্ণ করবেন।
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 তোমার চলার পথ সদাপ্রভুতে সমর্পণ করো; তাঁর উপর নির্ভর করো আর তিনি এসব করবেন:
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.
6 তিনি তোমার ধার্মিকতার পুরস্কার ভোরের মতো, আর তোমার সততা মধ্যাহ্নের সূর্যের মতো উজ্জ্বল করবেন।
Add he shall make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নীরব হও, ধৈর্য ধরে তাঁর প্রতীক্ষায় থাকো; যখন দুষ্ট ব্যক্তিরা তাদের জীবনে সফল হয়, যখন তারা তাদের মন্দ পরিকল্পনা কার্যকর করে, তখন বিচলিত হোয়ো না।
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 রাগ থেকে দূরে থাকো আর ক্রোধ থেকে মুখ ফেরাও; বিচলিত হোয়ো না, তা কেবল মন্দের দিকে নিয়ে যায়।
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself, [it tendeth] only to evil-doing.
9 কারণ যারা দুষ্ট তারা ধ্বংস হবে, কিন্তু যারা সদাপ্রভুতে আশা রাখে তারা দেশের অধিকারী হবে।
For evil-doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the land.
10 আর কিছুকাল পরেই দুষ্টদের অস্তিত্ব লোপ পাবে; তুমি তাদের খোঁজ করতে পারো কিন্তু তাদের পাওয়া যাবে না।
For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and he shall not be.
11 কিন্তু যারা নম্র তারা দেশের অধিকারী হবে, এবং শান্তি ও প্রাচুর্য উপভোগ করবে।
But the meek shall inherit the land; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 যারা দুষ্ট তারা ধার্মিকদের বিরুদ্ধে চক্রান্ত করে আর তাদের প্রতি ক্রোধে দন্তঘর্ষণ করে;
The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু দুষ্টদের দিকে তাকিয়ে হাসেন কারণ তিনি জানেন যে তাদের দিন ঘনিয়ে আসছে।
The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 দুষ্টেরা তরোয়াল বের করে, আর ধনুকে গুণ পরায় কারণ তারা দরিদ্র ও অভাবী মানুষদের বিনাশ করতে চায়, যারা ন্যায়পরায়ণ তাদের হত্যা করতে চায়।
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow; to cast down the poor and needy, to slay such as be upright in the way:
15 কিন্তু তাদের তরোয়ালগুলি তাদের নিজেদের হৃদয় বিদ্ধ করবে, আর তাদের ধনুকও চূর্ণ হবে।
Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 বহু দুষ্টের ঐশ্বর্যের চেয়ে ধার্মিকের সামান্য সম্বল শ্রেয়;
Better is a little that the righteous hath than the abundance of many wicked.
17 কারণ দুষ্টদের ক্ষমতা চূর্ণ হবে, কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু ধার্মিকদের ধারণ করেন।
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 দিনের পর দিন সদাপ্রভু নির্দোষদের রক্ষা করেন আর তারা এমন এক অধিকার পাবে যা চিরস্থায়ী হবে।
The LORD knoweth the days of the perfect: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 সংকটকালে তারা শুকিয়ে যাবে না; দুর্ভিক্ষের দিনে তারা প্রাচুর্য উপভোগ করবে।
They shall not be ashamed in the time of evil: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 কিন্তু দুষ্টেরা বিনষ্ট হবে: যদিও সদাপ্রভুর শত্রুরা মাঠের ফুলের মতো, তাদের গ্রাস করা হবে, আর তারা ধোঁয়ার মতো মিলিয়ে যাবে।
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the excellency of the pastures: they shall consume; in smoke shall they consume away.
21 দুষ্টেরা ঋণ নেয় কিন্তু পরিশোধ করে না, কিন্তু ধার্মিকেরা উদারতার সাথে দান করে;
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.
22 যাদের সদাপ্রভু আশীর্বাদ করেন তারা দেশের অধিকারী হবে, কিন্তু যাদের তিনি অভিশাপ দেন তারা ধ্বংস হবে।
For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the land; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 যে ব্যক্তি সদাপ্রভুতে আমোদ করে সদাপ্রভু তার পদক্ষেপ সুদৃঢ় করেন;
A man’s goings are established of the LORD; and he delighteth in his way.
24 হোঁচট খেলেও তার পতন হবে না, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাকে স্বহস্তে ধরে রাখেন।
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25 আমি তরুণ ছিলাম এবং এখন প্রবীণ হয়েছি, কিন্তু আমি দেখিনি যে ধার্মিকদের পরিত্যাগ করা হয়েছে অথবা তাদের ছেলেমেয়েরা ভিক্ষা করছে।
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging [their] bread.
26 তারা সর্বদা উদার ও মুক্তহস্তে ঋণ দান করে, তাদের ছেলেমেয়েরা আশীর্বাদপ্রাপ্ত হয়।
All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 মন্দতা বর্জন করো আর সৎকাজ করো; তাহলে চিরকাল তোমরা দেশে বসবাস করবে।
Depart from evil, and do good; dwell for evermore.
28 কারণ সদাপ্রভু ন্যায়পরায়ণকে ভালোবাসেন আর তিনি তাঁর বিশ্বস্তজনেদের পরিত্যাগ করবেন না। তারা চিরতরে রক্ষিত হবে; কিন্তু দুষ্টদের ছেলেমেয়েরা বিনষ্ট হবে।
For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 ধার্মিকেরাই দেশের অধিকারী হবে এবং তারা চিরকাল সেখানে বসবাস করবে।
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 ধার্মিকদের মুখ জ্ঞানের কথা বলে, তাদের জিভ যা ন্যায্য তাই বলে।
The mouth of the righteous talketh of wisdom, and his tongue speaketh judgment.
31 তাদের ঈশ্বরের বিধান তাদের অন্তরে আছে; আর তাদের পা পিছলায় না।
The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 যে দুষ্ট সে ধার্মিকদের পথ গোপনে লক্ষ্য রাখে, সে তাদের হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করে,
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 কিন্তু সদাপ্রভু তাদের দুষ্টদের হাতে ছেড়ে দেবেন না বা তাদের বিচারে নিয়ে আসা হলে দোষী সাব্যস্ত হতে দেবেন না।
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 সদাপ্রভুর আশায় থাকো আর তাঁর পথে অগ্রসর হও। তিনি তোমাকে দেশের অধিকার দেবার জন্য উন্নীত করবেন; যখন দুষ্টেরা ধ্বংস হবে, তোমরা দেখতে পাবে।
Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 আমি দুষ্ট ও নিষ্ঠুর ব্যক্তিদের দেখেছি স্বভূমিতে সতেজ গাছের মতো প্রসারিত হতে দেখেছি,
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
36 কিন্তু আবার যখন দৃষ্টিপাত করেছি, তারা নিশ্চিহ্ন হয়েছে; আমি তাদের খোঁজার চেষ্টা করলেও তাদের সন্ধান পাওয়া যায়নি।
But one passed by, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 নির্দোষদের কথা ভাবো, ন্যায়পরায়ণদের প্রতি দৃষ্টিপাত করো; যারা শান্তি খোঁজে তাদের এক ভবিষ্যৎ আছে,
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the latter end of [that] man is peace.
38 কিন্তু পাপীরা সবাই ধ্বংস হবে; দুষ্টদের কোনও ভবিষ্যৎ নেই।
As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together: the latter end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 ধার্মিকদের পরিত্রাণ সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকেই আসে; সংকটকালে তিনিই তাদের আশ্রয় দুর্গ।
But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strong hold in the time of trouble.
40 সদাপ্রভু তাদের সাহায্য করেন ও তাদের উদ্ধার করেন; তিনি তাদের দুষ্টদের কবল থেকে উদ্ধার করেন ও মুক্ত করেন, কারণ তারা যে তাঁরই শরণাগত।
And the LORD helpeth them, and rescueth them: he rescueth them from the wicked, and saveth them, because they have taken refuge in him.
