গীতসংহিতা 35
1 দাউদের গীত। হে সদাপ্রভু, যারা আমার সঙ্গে বিবাদ করে, তাদের সঙ্গে তুমি বিবাদ করো; যারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করে, তাদের বিরুদ্ধে তুমি যুদ্ধ করো।
By David. Strive, Jehovah, with my strivers, fight with my fighters,
2 ঢাল ও বর্ম পরিধান করো; ওঠো, আর আমার সাহায্যের জন্য এসো।
Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise for my help,
3 যারা আমাকে ধাওয়া করে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে বর্শা ও বল্লম তুলে নাও। আমাকে বলো, “আমিই তোমার পরিত্রাণ।”
And draw out spear and lance, To meet my pursuers. Say to my soul, 'Thy salvation I [am].'
4 যারা আমার প্রাণনাশের চেষ্টা করে তারা অপমানিত হোক ও লজ্জায় নত হোক; যারা আমার ধ্বংসের চক্রান্ত করে তারা হতাশায় ফিরে যাক।
They are ashamed and blush, those seeking my soul, Turned backward and confounded, Those devising my evil.
5 বাতাসে তুষের মতো ওদের অবস্থা হোক, সদাপ্রভুর দূত তাদের বিতাড়িত করুক;
They are as chaff before wind, And a messenger of Jehovah driving away.
6 তাদের চলার পথ অন্ধকারাচ্ছন্ন ও পিচ্ছিল হোক, আর সদাপ্রভুর দূত তাদের পিছনে ধাওয়া করুক।
Their way is darkness and slipperiness, And a messenger of Jehovah their pursuer.
7 যেহেতু ওরা অকারণে আমার জন্য গোপন ফাঁদ পেতেছে, আর অকারণেই আমার জন্য গর্ত খুঁড়েছে,
For without cause they hid for me their netpit, Without cause they digged for my soul.
8 অতর্কিতে তাদের উপর যেন ধ্বংস নেমে আসে— ওদের পাতা গোপন ফাঁদে যেন ওরা নিজেরাই ধরা পড়ে, ওদের খোঁড়া গর্তে যেন ওরা পড়ে আর ধ্বংস হয়।
Meet him doth desolation — he knoweth not, And his net that he hid catcheth him, For desolation he falleth into it.
9 তখন সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে আমার প্রাণ আনন্দিত হবে, আর তাঁর পরিত্রাণে উল্লসিত হবে।
And my soul is joyful in Jehovah, It rejoiceth in His salvation.
10 আমার সমগ্র সত্তা বলবে, “তোমার মতো কে আছে, হে সদাপ্রভু? তুমি শক্তিমানের হাত থেকে দুর্বলকে রক্ষা করো, লুণ্ঠনকারীদের হাত থেকে দুর্বল ও দরিদ্রদের রক্ষা করো।”
All my bones say, 'Jehovah, who is like Thee, Delivering the poor from the stronger than he, And the poor and needy from his plunderer.'
11 দুষ্ট সাক্ষীর দল এগিয়ে আসছে; আমার অজানা বিষয় নিয়ে তারা আমাকে প্রশ্ন করে।
Violent witnesses rise up, That which I have not known they ask me.
12 উপকারের প্রতিদানে ওরা আমার অপকার করে, আমি শোকার্ত হয়ে রইলাম।
They pay me evil for good, bereaving my soul,
13 কিন্তু ওরা যখন পীড়িত ছিল, আমি দুঃখে তখন চট পরেছিলাম, উপবাস করে নিজেকে নম্র করেছিলাম, কিন্তু আমার প্রার্থনা নিরুত্তর হয়ে আমার কাছে ফিরে এল।
And I — in their sickness my clothing [is] sackcloth, I have humbled with fastings my soul, And my prayer unto my bosom returneth.
14 আমি শোকার্ত হয়ে রইলাম, যেন তারা আমার বন্ধু বা পরিবার ছিল, বিষাদে আমি মাথা নত করেছিলাম যেন আমি নিজের মায়ের শোকে বিলাপ করছিলাম।
As [if] a friend, as [if] my brother, I walked habitually, As a mourner for a mother, Mourning I have bowed down.
15 কিন্তু যখন আমি হোঁচট খেলাম, তখন ওরা আনন্দে সমবেত হল, আক্রমণকারীরা আমার অজান্তে আমার বিরুদ্ধে দলবদ্ধ হল। ক্ষান্ত না হয়ে তারা আমাকে বিদীর্ণ করল।
And — in my halting they have rejoiced, And have been gathered together, Gathered against me were the smiters, And I have not known, They have rent, and they have not ceased;
16 অধার্মিকের মতো তারা আমাকে ব্যঙ্গবিদ্রুপ করে, তারা আমার প্রতি দন্তঘর্ষণ করে।
With profane ones, mockers in feasts, Gnashing against me their teeth.
17 আর কত কাল, হে প্রভু, তুমি নীরবে দেখবে? ওদের হিংস্র আক্রমণ থেকে আমাকে রক্ষা করো, ওইসব সিংহের গ্রাস থেকে আমার জীবন বাঁচাও।
Lord, how long dost thou behold? Keep back my soul from their desolations, From young lions my only one.
18 মহাসমাবেশে আমি তোমাকে ধন্যবাদ জানাব; অগণিত মানুষের মাঝে আমি তোমার প্রশংসা করব।
I thank Thee in a great assembly, Among a mighty people I praise Thee.
19 যারা অকারণে আমার শত্রু হয়েছে তারা যেন আমার পরাজয়ে উল্লসিত না হয়; যারা অকারণে আমায় ঘৃণা করে তারা যেন পরহিংসায় আমার প্রতি কটাক্ষ না করে।
Mine enemies rejoice not over me [with] falsehood, Those hating me without cause wink the eye.
20 তারা শান্তির কথা বলে না; কিন্তু যারা জগতে শান্তিতে বসবাস করে তাদেরই বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যা অভিযোগ রচনা করে।
For they speak not peace, And against the quiet of the land, Deceitful words they devise,
21 তারা আমার প্রতি অবজ্ঞা করে আর বলে, “হা! হা! আমরা নিজেদের চোখে এসব দেখেছি।”
And they enlarge against me their mouth, They said, 'Aha, aha, our eye hath seen.'
22 হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি সবই দেখেছ, তুমি নীরব থেকো না। হে প্রভু, তুমি আমার কাছ থেকে দূরে থেকো না।
Thou hast seen, O Jehovah, Be not silent, O Lord — be not far from me,
23 জেগে ওঠো এবং আমায় সমর্থন করো! আমার পক্ষে দাঁড়াও, হে আমার ঈশ্বর ও প্রভু।
Stir up, and wake to my judgment, My God, and my Lord, to my plea.
24 তোমার ধার্মিকতায় আমাকে নির্দোষ ঘোষণা করো, হে সদাপ্রভু, আমার ঈশ্বর; আমাকে নিয়ে তাদের উল্লাস করতে দিয়ো না।
Judge me according to Thy righteousness, O Jehovah my God, And they do not rejoice over me.
25 তাদের ভাবতে দিয়ো না, “আহা! আমরা যা চেয়েছি, তাই ঘটেছে!” অথবা না বলে, “আমরা ওকে গ্রাস করেছি।”
They do not say in their heart, 'Aha, our desire.' They do not say, 'We swallowed him up.'
26 যারা আমার দুর্দশায় উল্লসিত হয় তারা যেন লজ্জিত ও অপমানিত হয়; যারা আমার উপরে নিজেদের উন্নত করে তারা সবাই যেন লজ্জায় ও অসম্মানে আবৃত হয়।
They are ashamed and confounded together, Who are rejoicing at my evil. They put on shame and confusion, Who are magnifying themselves against me.
27 যারা আমার নির্দোষিতা প্রমাণে আনন্দ পায়, তারা আনন্দধ্বনি করুক, আহ্লাদিত হোক; তারা সর্বক্ষণ বলুক, “সদাপ্রভু মহিমান্বিত হোন, যিনি তাঁর দাসের কল্যাণে নিত্য আনন্দিত।”
They sing and rejoice, who are desiring my righteousness, And they say continually, 'Jehovah is magnified, Who is desiring the peace of His servant.'
28 আমার জিভ তোমার ধার্মিকতা প্রচার করবে, সারাদিন তোমার প্রশংসাগান গাইবে।
And my tongue uttereth Thy righteousness, All the day Thy praise!
