গীতসংহিতা 23

1 দাউদের গীত। সদাপ্রভু আমার পালক, আমার অভাব হবে না।

“A psalm of David.” The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

2 তিনি সবুজ চারণভূমিতে আমাকে শয়ন করান, তিনি শান্ত জলের ধারে আমাকে নিয়ে যান,

In pastures of tender grass he causeth me to lie down: beside still waters he leadeth me.

3 তিনি আমার প্রাণ সঞ্জীবিত করেন। নিজের নামের মহিমায় তিনি আমাকে সঠিক পথে পরিচালনা করেন।

My soul he refresheth: he guideth me in the tracks of righteousness for the sake of his name.

4 যদিও আমি হেঁটে যাই অন্ধকারাচ্ছন্ন উপত্যকার মধ্য দিয়ে, আমি কোনও অমঙ্গলের ভয় করব না, কারণ তুমি আমার সঙ্গে আছ; তোমার লাঠি ও তোমার ছড়ি, সেগুলি আমাকে সান্ত্বনা দেয়।

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear evil; for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff—they indeed comfort me.

5 আমার শত্রুদের উপস্থিতিতে তুমি আমার সামনে এক ভোজসভায় আয়োজন করেছ। তুমি আমার মাথা তেল দিয়ে অভিষিক্ত করেছ; আমার পানপাত্র উপচে পড়ে।

Thou preparest before me a table in the presence of my assailants; thou anointest with oil my head: my cup overfloweth.

6 নিশ্চয় তোমার মঙ্গল ও প্রেম আমার পিছু নেবে আমার জীবনের সব দিন পর্যন্ত, এবং চিরকাল আমি সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে বসবাস করব।

Surely, only goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord to the utmost length of days.
