গীতসংহিতা 2
1 কেন জাতিরা চক্রান্ত করে আর লোকেরা কেন বৃথাই সংকল্প করে?
Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?
2 পৃথিবীর রাজারা উদিত হয় এবং শাসকেরা সংঘবদ্ধ হয় সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে ও তাঁর অভিষিক্ত ব্যক্তির বিরুদ্ধে, এই বলে,
The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together, —against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One [saying]:
3 “এসো আমরা তাদের শিকল ভেঙে ফেলি ও তাদের হাতকড়া ফেলে দিই।”
Let us break asunder their bonds, —and cast from us their cords!
4 যিনি স্বর্গের সিংহাসনে উপবিষ্ট তিনি হাসেন; প্রভু তাদের প্রতি বিদ্রুপ করেন।
He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh, —My Lord, will mock at them:
5 রাগে তিনি তাদের তিরস্কার করেন ও তাঁর ক্রোধে তিনি তাদের আতঙ্কিত করেন।
Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:
6 কারণ প্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, “আমার পবিত্র সিয়োন পর্বতে আমি আমার রাজাকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছি।”
Yet, I, have installed my king, —on Zion my holy mountain.
7 আমি সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ ঘোষণা করব: তিনি আমায় বললেন, “তুমি আমার পুত্র; আজ আমি তোমার পিতা হয়েছি।
Let me tell of a decree, —Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:
8 আমাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করো, আর আমি জাতিদের তোমার অধিকার করব, পৃথিবীর শেষ প্রান্ত তোমার অধীনস্থ হবে।
Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:
9 তুমি তাদের লোহার দণ্ড দিয়ে চূর্ণ করবে; মাটির পাত্রের মতো তুমি তাদের ভেঙে টুকরো করবে।”
Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron, —as a potter’s vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.
10 অতএব, হে রাজারা, তোমরা বিচক্ষণ হও; হে পৃথিবীর শাসকবর্গ, সাবধান হও।
Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:
11 সম্ভ্রমে সদাপ্রভুর আরাধনা করো আর কম্পিত হৃদয়ে তাঁর শাসন উদ্যাপন করো।
Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:
12 তাঁর পুত্রকে চুম্বন করো, নতুবা তিনি ক্রুদ্ধ হবেন এবং তোমার পথ তোমাকে ধ্বংসের দিকে নিয়ে যাবে, কারণ তাঁর ক্রোধ মুহূর্তে জ্বলে উঠতে পারে। ধন্য তারা, যারা তাঁর শরণাপন্ন।
Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger, —How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
