গীতসংহিতা 17
1 দাউদের প্রার্থনা। হে সদাপ্রভু, আমার প্রার্থনা শোনো, আমার আবেদন ন্যায্য; আমার আর্তনাদ শোনো। আমার প্রার্থনা শোনো, যা ছলনায় মুখ থেকে নির্গত হয় না।
A Prayer of David. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, [that goeth] not out of feigned lips.
2 তুমি আমাকে নির্দোষ ঘোষণা করো; যা সঠিক সেদিকে তোমার দৃষ্টি পড়ুক।
Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.
3 যদিও তুমি আমার অন্তর অনুসন্ধান করেছ, রাত্রে আমায় পরখ করেছ ও পরীক্ষা করেছ, তুমি খুঁজে পাবে না যে আমি কোনও মন্দ সংকল্প করেছি; আমার মুখ অপরাধ করেনি।
Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited [me] in the night; thou hast tried me, [and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed [that] my mouth shall not transgress.
4 যদিও লোকেরা আমাকে ঘুস দিতে চেয়েছিল, তোমার মুখের বাক্য দিয়ে আমি নিজেকে অত্যাচারীদের পথ থেকে দূরে রেখেছি।
Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept [me from] the paths of the destroyer.
5 আমার পদক্ষেপ তোমার পথে স্থির রেখেছি, এবং আমি হোঁচট খাইনি।
Hold up my goings in thy paths, [that] my footsteps slip not.
6 আমি তোমাকে ডাকি, হে ঈশ্বর, কারণ তুমি আমায় সাড়া দেবে; আমার দিকে কর্ণপাত করো ও আমার প্রার্থনা শোনো।
I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, [ and hear] my speech.
7 তোমার মহান প্রেমের আশ্চর্য কাজগুলি আমাকে দেখাও, যারা শত্রুর কবল থেকে বাঁচতে তোমাতে আশ্রয় নেয় তুমি তোমার ডান হাত দিয়ে তাদের উদ্ধার করো।
Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust [in thee] from those that rise up [against them].
8 আমাকে তোমার চোখের মণি করে রাখো; তোমার ডানার ছায়ায় আমাকে লুকিয়ে রাখো।
Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
9 দুষ্ট ব্যক্তি যারা আমাকে ধ্বংস করতে চায় ও হত্যাকারী শত্রু যারা আমাকে ঘিরে রেখেছে, তাদের হাত থেকে আমাকে রক্ষা করো।
From the wicked that oppress me, [from] my deadly enemies, [who] compass me about.
10 তারা তাদের উদাসীন হৃদয় রুদ্ধ করে রেখেছে, এবং তাদের মুখ উদ্ধতভাবে কথা বলে।
They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 তারা আমার পথ অনুসরণ করেছে ও আমায় চতুর্দিকে ঘিরে ফেলেছে; আমাকে ধরাশায়ী করার জন্য তাদের দৃষ্টি স্থির রেখেছে।
They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;
12 ওরা শিকারের জন্য ক্ষুধার্ত সিংহের মতো, হিংস্র সিংহের মতো যারা আড়ালে ওৎ পেতে থাকে।
Like as a lion [that] is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 জেগে ওঠো, হে সদাপ্রভু, ওদের মোকাবিলা করো, ওদের ধ্বংস করো; তোমার তরোয়াল দিয়ে দুষ্টদের কবল থেকে আমাকে রক্ষা করো।
Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, [which is] thy sword:
14 হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার হাতের শক্তি দিয়ে ওইসব লোক থেকে আমাকে বাঁচাও, জাগতিক মানুষদের থেকে, যাদের পুরস্কার এই জগতেই। কিন্তু তোমার প্রিয়জনদের ক্ষুধা তুমি মেটাও। তাদের সন্তানদের যেন প্রচুর থাকে, তাদের বংশধরদের জন্য যেন অধিকারের অংশ থাকে।
From men [which are] thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, [which have] their portion in [this] life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid [treasure: ] they are full of children, and leave the rest of their [substance] to their babes.
15 কিন্তু আমি ধার্মিকতায় তোমার মুখদর্শন করব; যখন আমি জেগে উঠব, আমি তোমার মুখদর্শন করব আর সন্তুষ্ট হব।
As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
