গীতসংহিতা 11

1 সংগীত পরিচালকের জন্য। দাউদের গীত। আমি সদাপ্রভুতে শরণ নিয়েছি। তুমি কেমন করে আমায় বলো: “পাখির মতো তোমার পাহাড়ের দিকে উড়ে যাও।

To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David. In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee [as] a bird to your mountain?

2 কারণ দেখো, ন্যায়পরায়ণদের হৃদয় বিদ্ধ করার জন্য ছায়া থেকে তির নিক্ষেপ করতে তারা ধনুকের দড়িতে তির লাগিয়েছে দুষ্টরা তাদের ধনুকে গুণ পরিয়েছে।

For, lo, the wicked bend [their] bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

3 যখন ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর ধ্বংস হচ্ছে, তখন ধার্মিকেরা কী করতে পারে?”

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4 সদাপ্রভু তাঁর পবিত্র মন্দিরে আছেন; সদাপ্রভু স্বর্গের সিংহাসনে অধিষ্ঠিত। তিনি পৃথিবীর সকলকে নিরীক্ষণ করেন; তাঁর দৃষ্টি তাদের পরীক্ষা করে।

The LORD [is] in his holy temple, the LORD’s throne [is] in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

5 সদাপ্রভু ধার্মিকদের পরীক্ষা করেন, কিন্তু যারা দুষ্ট, যারা হিংসা ভালোবাসে, তাদের তিনি হৃদয় দিয়ে ঘৃণা করেন।

The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 দুষ্টদের উপর তিনি জ্বলন্ত কয়লা আর গন্ধক বর্ষণ করবেন; উত্তপ্ত বায়ু দিয়ে তাদের শাস্তি দেবেন।

Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: [this shall be] the portion of their cup.

7 কারণ সদাপ্রভু ধার্মিক, তিনি ন্যায় ভালোবাসেন; ন্যায়পরায়ণ লোক তাঁর মুখদর্শন করবে।

For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
