গীতসংহিতা 106
1 সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করো। সদাপ্রভুর ধন্যবাদ করো, কারণ তিনি মঙ্গলময়; তাঁর দয়া অনন্তকালস্থায়ী।
Let the Lord be praised. O give praise to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy is unchanging for ever.
2 কে সদাপ্রভুর পরাক্রমী কাজকর্ম প্রচার করতে পারে অথবা তাঁর প্রশংসা সম্পূর্ণ ঘোষণা করতে পারে?
Who is able to give an account of the great acts of the Lord, or to make clear all his praise?
3 ধন্য তারা, যারা ন্যায় কাজ করে, এবং যা সঠিক তা সর্বদা পালন করে।
Happy are they whose decisions are upright, and he who does righteousness at all times.
4 আমাকে মনে রেখো, হে সদাপ্রভু, যখন তুমি তোমার প্রজাদের উপর অনুগ্রহ করো, যখন তুমি তাদের রক্ষা করো, আমাকে সাহায্য করো,
Keep me in mind, O Lord, when you are good to your people; O let your salvation come to me;
5 যেন আমি তোমার মনোনীতদের সমৃদ্ধি দেখতে পাই, যেন তোমার জাতির আনন্দে অংশীদার হতে পারি এবং তোমার অধিকারের সঙ্গে যোগ দিয়ে ধন্যবাদ দিতে পারি।
So that I may see the well-being of the people of your selection, and have a part in the joy of your nation, and take pride in your heritage.
6 আমরা পাপ করেছি, যেমন আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরাও করেছে; আমরা অপরাধ করেছি এবং অধর্মাচরণ করেছি।
We are sinners like our fathers, we have done wrong, our acts are evil.
7 আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা যখন মিশরে ছিল, তারা তোমার আশ্চর্য কাজগুলি বিবেচনা করেনি, তারা তোমার অপার দয়ার কথা মনে রাখেনি, বরং সাগরের তীরে, লোহিত সাগরের তীরে, তারা বিদ্রোহী হয়েছিল।
Our fathers did not give thought to your wonders in Egypt; they did not keep in memory the great number of your mercies, but gave you cause for wrath at the sea, even at the Red Sea.
8 তবুও তাঁর নামের গুণে এবং তাঁর মহাপরাক্রম প্রকাশ করার উদ্দেশে, তিনি তাদের রক্ষা করেছিলেন।
But he was their saviour because of his name, so that men might see his great power.
9 তিনি লোহিত সাগরকে তিরস্কার করলেন আর তা শুকিয়ে গেল; মরুভূমির মতো সমুদ্রতলের মধ্য দিয়ে তিনি তাদের নিয়ে গেলেন।
By his word the Red Sea was made dry: and he took them through the deep waters as through the waste land.
10 তিনি বিপক্ষদের কবল থেকে তাদের রক্ষা করলেন; শত্রুদের হাত থেকে তিনি তাদের মুক্ত করলেন।
And he took them safely out of the hands of their haters, and kept them from the attacks of those who were against them.
11 জলধিস্রোত তাদের প্রতিপক্ষদের গ্রাস করল একজনও বেঁচে রইল না।
And the waters went over their haters; all of them came to an end.
12 তখন তারা তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতিতে বিশ্বাস করল এবং তাঁর প্রশংসা করল।
Then they had faith in his words; they gave him songs of praise.
13 কিন্তু তারা অবিলম্বে তাঁর কাজগুলি ভুলে গেল, এবং তাঁর সুমন্ত্রণার অপেক্ষাতেও রইল না।
But their memory of his works was short; not waiting to be guided by him,
14 মরুভূমিতে তারা তাদের আকাঙ্ক্ষায় আসক্ত হল; মরুপ্রান্তরে তারা ঈশ্বরের পরীক্ষা করল।
They gave way to their evil desires in the waste land, and put God to the test in the dry places.
15 তাই তিনি তাদের প্রার্থিত বস্তু দিলেন, কিন্তু তার সঙ্গে তাদের মধ্যে ক্ষয়রোগ পাঠালেন।
And he gave them their request, but sent a wasting disease into their souls.
16 তারা শিবিরের মধ্যে মোশির প্রতি আর সদাপ্রভুর পবিত্র লোক হারোণের প্রতি ঈর্ষা করল।
They were full of envy against Moses among the tents, and against Aaron, the holy one of the Lord.
17 পৃথিবী বিভক্ত হয়ে দাথনকে গ্রাস করল; অবীরাম ও তার দলবলকে সমাধিস্থ করল।
The earth opening put an end to Dathan, covering up Abiram and his band.
18 তাদের অনুসরণকারীদের মাঝে আগুন জ্বলে উঠল; আগুনের শিখা দুষ্টদের দগ্ধ করল।
And a fire was lighted among their tents; the sinners were burned up by the flames.
19 সীনয় পর্বতে তারা এক বাছুর নির্মাণ করল এবং ধাতু নির্মিত সেই মূর্তির আরাধনা করল।
They made a young ox in Horeb, and gave worship to an image of gold.
20 এভাবে তারা তাদের গৌরবের ঈশ্বরের সাথে তৃণভোজী এক বলদের প্রতিমা বিনিময় করল।
And their glory was changed into the image of an ox, whose food is grass.
21 যে ঈশ্বর তাদের রক্ষা করেছিলেন তারা তাঁকে ভুলে গেল, যিনি মিশরে মহান কাজ করেছিলেন,
They had no memory of God their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt;
22 হামের দেশে বিভিন্ন আশ্চর্য কাজ, আর লোহিত সাগরতীরে ভয়াবহ কাজকর্ম করেছিলেন,
Works of wonder in the land of Ham, and things of fear by the Red Sea.
23 তাই তিনি বললেন যে তিনি তাদের ধ্বংস করবেন; কিন্তু মোশি, তাঁর মনোনীত সেবক, সদাপ্রভু ও তাঁর লোকেদের মাঝে দাঁড়ালেন, তিনি তাঁর কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন যেন তিনি তাঁর ক্রোধ থেকে মুখ ফেরান এবং তাদের ধ্বংস না করেন।
And he was purposing to put an end to them if Moses, his special servant, had not gone up before him, between him and his people, turning back his wrath, to keep them from destruction.
24 এরপর তারা সেই মনোরম দেশটিকে তুচ্ছ করল; তারা তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতিতে বিশ্বাস করল না।
They were disgusted with the good land; they had no belief in his word;
25 নিজেদের তাঁবুতে তারা অভিযোগ জানালো, আর সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ পালন করল না।
Talking against him secretly in their tents, they did not give ear to the voice of the Lord.
26 তাই তিনি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে হাত তুলে শপথ করলেন, যে তিনি তাদের মরুপ্রান্তরে বিনাশ করবেন,
So he made an oath against them, to put an end to them in the waste land:
27 যে তিনি তাদের বংশধরদের বিভিন্ন জাতির মধ্যে বিক্ষিপ্ত করবেন, এবং তাদের বিভিন্ন দেশে ছড়িয়ে দেবেন।
That their children might be mixed among the nations, and sent away into other lands.
28 তারপর তারা পিয়োরের বায়াল-দেবতার আরাধনায় যুক্ত হল এবং প্রাণহীন দেবতাদের প্রতি নিবেদিত বলি ভোজন করল;
And they were joined to Baal-peor, and took part in the offerings to the dead.
29 তাদের সব অনাচারে তারা সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ প্রজ্বলিত করল, আর তাদের মধ্যে এক মহামারি নেমে এল।
So they made him angry by their behaviour; and he sent disease on them.
30 তখন পীনহস উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে মধ্যস্থতা করলেন, আর মহামারি বন্ধ হল।
Then Phinehas got up, and made prayer for them; and the disease went no farther.
31 এই কাজ তাঁর পক্ষে ধার্মিকতা বলে পুরুষানুক্রমে চিরকালের জন্য গণ্য হল।
And all the generations coming after him kept the memory of his righteousness for ever.
32 মরীবার জলস্রোতের কাছে তারা সদাপ্রভুকে ক্রুদ্ধ করল, আর তাদেরই জন্য মোশির বিপদ ঘটল;
They made God angry again at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled because of them;
33 কেননা তারা ঈশ্বরের আত্মার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করল, আর তাই বেপরোয়া কথা মোশির মুখে উচ্চারিত হল।
For they made his spirit bitter, and he said unwise things.
34 তারা জাতিদের বিনষ্ট করল না যেমন সদাপ্রভু তাদের আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন,
They did not put an end to the peoples, as the Lord had said;
35 বরং তারা অন্যান্য জাতিদের সঙ্গে মিলেমিশে গেল আর তাদের রীতিনীতি গ্রহণ করল।
But they were joined to the nations, learning their works.
36 তাদের প্রতিমাগুলির আরাধনা করল, আর সেইসব তাদের ফাঁদ হয়ে উঠল।
And they gave worship to images; which were a danger to them:
37 এমনকি তারা তাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের মিথ্যা দেবতাদের উদ্দেশে বলি দিল।
They even made offerings of their sons and their daughters to evil spirits,
38 তারা নির্দোষের রক্তপাত করল, নিজেদের ছেলেমেয়েদের রক্ত, যাদের তারা কনান দেশের প্রতিমাদের উদ্দেশে বলি দিল, আর তাদের রক্তে সারা দেশ কলুষিত হল।
And gave the blood of their sons and their daughters who had done no wrong, offering them to the images of Canaan; and the land was made unclean with blood.
39 আপন কর্মের ফলে তারা নিজেদের অশুচি করল, নিজেদের ক্রিয়াকলাপে তারা ব্যভিচারী হল।
So they became unclean through their works, going after their evil desires.
40 তাই সদাপ্রভু নিজের প্রজাদের উপর ক্রুদ্ধ হলেন তিনি নিজের অধিকারকে ঘৃণা করলেন।
Then the wrath of the Lord was burning against his people, and he was angry with his heritage.
41 তাদের তিনি জাতিদের হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন, এবং তাদের বিপক্ষরা তাদের উপর শাসন করল।
And he gave them into the hands of the nations; and they were ruled by their haters.
42 তাদের শত্রুরা তাদের উপর অত্যাচার করল এবং তাদের শত্রুদের শক্তির সামনে তারা নত হল।
By them they were crushed, and made low under their hands.
43 বহুবার তিনি তাদের উদ্ধার করলেন, কিন্তু তারা স্বেচ্ছায় তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী হল, আর শেষে তারা নিজেদের পাপে ধ্বংস হল।
Again and again he made them free; but their hearts were turned against his purpose, and they were overcome by their sins.
44 কিন্তু যখন তিনি তাদের কান্না শুনলেন, তিনি তাদের দুর্দশার প্রতি দৃষ্টিপাত করলেন;
But when their cry came to his ears, he had pity on their trouble:
45 তাদের সুবিধার্থে তিনি নিজের নিয়ম স্মরণ করলেন এবং তাঁর মহান প্রেমের কারণে তিনি নরম হলেন।
And kept in mind his agreement with them, and in his great mercy gave them forgiveness.
46 যারা তাদের দাসত্বে বন্দি করেছিল, তিনি তাদের অন্তরে করুণার সঞ্চার করলেন।
He put pity into the hearts of those who made them prisoners.
47 হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের ঈশ্বর, আমাদের রক্ষা করো, জাতিদের মধ্য থেকে আমাদের একত্রিত করো, যেন আমরা তোমার পবিত্র নামের ধন্যবাদ করতে পারি, এবং তোমার প্রশংসায় মহিমা করতে পারি।
Be our saviour, O Lord our God, and let us come back together from among the nations, so that we may give honour to your holy name, and have glory in your praise.
48 ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা হোক, অনাদিকাল থেকে অনন্তকাল পর্যন্ত, সব লোকজন বলুক, “আমেন!” সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা হোক।
Praise be to the Lord God of Israel for ever and for ever; and let all the people say, So be it. Give praise to the Lord.
