1 খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর দাস পৌল ও তিমথি, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে অবস্থিত ফিলিপীর সমস্ত সন্ত, অধ্যক্ষগণ ও পরিচারকবর্গের প্রতি,
Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus that are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
2 আমাদের পিতা ঈশ্বর এবং প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্ট থেকে অনুগ্রহ ও শান্তি তোমাদের উপর বর্ষিত হোক।
grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 আমি যখনই তোমাদের কথা স্মরণ করি, আমি আমার ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ দিই।
I thank my God on every remembrance of you―
4 প্রার্থনার সময়ে আমি তোমাদের সকলের জন্য সর্বদা সানন্দে প্রার্থনা করি,
always in every supplication of mine for you all, making my supplication with joy―
5 কারণ প্রথম দিন থেকে, আজ পর্যন্ত সুসমাচার প্রচারের কাজে তোমরা আমাকে সহযোগিতা করেছ।
for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day till now:
6 এ বিষয়ে আমি সুনিশ্চিত যে, যিনি তোমাদের অন্তরে শুভকর্মের সূচনা করেছেন, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর দিন পর্যন্ত তিনি তা সুসম্পন্ন করবেন।
being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you, will carry it on till the day of Jesus Christ;
7 তোমাদের সকলের বিষয়ে এই মনোভাব পোষণ করাই আমার পক্ষে সংগত, কারণ তোমরা আমার হৃদয় জুড়ে আছ। আমি বন্দিদশায় থাকি, অথবা সুসমাচারের পক্ষসমর্থনে বা প্রতিষ্ঠার কাজে ব্যাপৃত থাকি, তোমরা সকলেই আমার সঙ্গে ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহের সহভাগী।
as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I say I have you in my heart; both in my bonds and in my defense and confirmation of the gospel, I say I have you all in my heart as being joint partakers of my grace.
8 ঈশ্বরই আমার সাক্ষী, খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর স্নেহে আমি তোমাদের সাক্ষাৎ পাওয়ার জন্য কতই না ব্যাকুল!
For God is my witness how ardently I love you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 এখন, আমার প্রার্থনা এই: তোমাদের ভালোবাসা যেন জ্ঞান ও গভীর অন্তর্দৃষ্টিতে দিনের পর দিন সমৃদ্ধ হয়ে ওঠে,
I also pray for this, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all understanding,
10 যেন কোনটি উৎকৃষ্ট, তা তোমরা উপলব্ধি করতে পারো এবং খ্রীষ্টের পুনরাগমনের দিন পর্যন্ত পবিত্র ও নিষ্কলঙ্ক হয়ে থাকতে পারো;
in order that you may distinguish things that differ, to the end that you may be pure and blameless till the day of Christ,
11 ঈশ্বরের গৌরব ও প্রশংসার জন্য তোমরা ধার্মিকতার সেই ফলে পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে ওঠো, যা যীশু খ্রীষ্টের মাধ্যমে পাওয়া যায়।
being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which fruit is by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
12 ভাই ও বোনেরা, আমি চাই, তোমরা যেন জানতে পারো যে, আমার প্রতি যা ঘটেছে, তা প্রকৃতপক্ষে সুসমাচার প্রচারের কাজ আরও এগিয়ে দিয়েছে।
But I wish you to know, brethren, that the things which have befallen me have turned out rather to the advancement of the gospel;
13 ফলস্বরূপ, সমস্ত প্রাসাদরক্ষী এবং অন্য সকলের কাছে সুস্পষ্ট হয়ে গেছে যে, খ্রীষ্টের জন্যই আমি কারাগারে বন্দি হয়েছি।
so that my bonds which are for Christ have become known to be such in all the palace, and in all other places;
14 আমার বন্দিদশার জন্যই প্রভুতে অধিকাংশ ভাই আরও সাহসের সঙ্গে ও আরও নির্ভীকভাবে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য প্রচার করতে অনুপ্রেরণা লাভ করেছে।
and most of the brethren in the Lord, having confidence in my bonds, are more bold to speak the word without fear.
15 একথা সত্যি যে, কেউ কেউ ঈর্ষা ও প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতার মনোভাব নিয়ে খ্রীষ্টকে প্রচার করে, কিন্তু অন্যেরা করে সদিচ্ছার বশবর্তী হয়ে।
Some, indeed, preach the Christ, because of envy and a contentious disposition, and some because of good-will.
16 এই ব্যক্তিরা ভালোবাসায় উদ্বুদ্ধ হয়ে প্রচার করে কারণ তারা জানে যে সুসমাচারের পক্ষ সমর্থনের জন্যই আমাকে এখানে রাখা হয়েছে।
These do it from love, because they know that I am set for the defense of the gospel;
17 কিন্তু অন্যরা আন্তরিকতায় নয়, স্বার্থসিদ্ধির উদ্দেশ্যে খ্রীষ্টকে প্রচার করে। তারা মনে করে, আমার বন্দিদশায় তারা আমার কষ্ট আরও বেশি বাড়িয়ে তুলতে পারবে।
those preach Christ from a contentious disposition, not sincerely, thinking that they will add affliction to my bonds.
18 কিন্তু তাতেই বা কী? গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় হল, ছলনা বা সত্য, যেভাবেই হোক, খ্রীষ্টকে প্রচার করা হচ্ছে। আর সেই কারণেই আমি আনন্দিত। হ্যাঁ, আমার এই আনন্দ অব্যাহত থাকবে,
What difference does this make? Christ is, nevertheless, preached in every way, whether in pretense or in truth; and in this I rejoice, yes, and I will rejoice:
19 কারণ আমি জানি, আমার জীবনে যা ঘটেছে, তোমাদের প্রার্থনার মাধ্যমে এবং যীশু খ্রীষ্টের আত্মা দ্বারা যে সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে, সেসব আমার মুক্তির কারণ হবে।
for I know that this will result in my benefit through your supplication, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
20 আমার আকুল আকাঙ্ক্ষা ও প্রত্যাশা এই যে, আমি কোনোভাবেই লজ্জিত হব না, বরং পর্যাপ্ত সাহসের সঙ্গে চলব, যেন সবসময় যেমন করে এসেছি আজও তেমনি—জীবনে হোক বা মৃত্যুতে হোক—আমার এই শরীরে খ্রীষ্ট মহিমান্বিত হবেন।
according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be ashamed, but with all boldness, as at all times, so even now, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
21 কারণ আমার কাছে খ্রীষ্টই জীবন, আর মৃত্যু লাভজনক।
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 যদি এই শরীরে আমাকে বেঁচে থাকতে হয়, তাহলে আমার পরিশ্রম ফলপ্রসূ হয়েছে বলে মনে করব। তবুও কোনটা আমি বেছে নেব, তা জানি না!
But if this, my life in the flesh, would be profitable for my work in the ministry, verily, what I should choose I know not.
23 এই দুই আকাঙ্ক্ষার মধ্যে আমি বিদীর্ণ হচ্ছি: আমার আকাঙ্ক্ষা এই, বিদায় নিয়ে আমি খ্রীষ্টের সঙ্গে থাকি, যা অনেক বেশি শ্রেয়।
I am in a strait between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better:
24 কিন্তু তোমাদেরই জন্য আমার শরীরে বেঁচে থাকার প্রয়োজন অনেক বেশি।
yet to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
25 এ বিষয়ে আমি নিশ্চিত যে, আমি জীবিত থাকব এবং বিশ্বাসে তোমাদের উন্নতি ও আনন্দের জন্য আমি তোমাদের সকলের সঙ্গেই থাকব,
And of this I feel assured, that I shall remain and continue among you all for your advancement and joy in the faith,
26 যেন তোমাদের মধ্যে আমার পুনরায় অবস্থিতির জন্য খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে তোমাদের আনন্দ, আমার কারণে উপচে পড়তে পারে।
that your rejoicing in Christ Jesus may become more abundant through me by my being present among you again.
27 যাই ঘটুক না কেন, তোমরা খ্রীষ্টের সুসমাচারের যোগ্য আচরণ করো। তাহলে আমি কাছে এসে তোমাদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করি বা আমার অনুপস্থিতিতে তোমাদের কথা শুধু শুনেই থাকি, আমি জানব যে তোমরা এক আত্মায় অবিচল আছ, এবং এক মন হয়ে সুসমাচারে তোমাদের স্থির বিশ্বাসের জন্য সংগ্রাম করছ,
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Christ, that, whether I come and see you, or be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving together for the faith of the gospel,
28 যারা তোমাদের বিপক্ষতা করে, কোনোভাবেই তাদের ভয় পাওনি। এই হবে তাদের বিনাশের প্রমাণ, কিন্তু তোমরা লাভ করবে মুক্তি—ঈশ্বরই তা দান করবেন।
and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.
29 কারণ খ্রীষ্টের পক্ষে তোমাদের এই অনুগ্রহ দেওয়া হয়েছে, কেবলমাত্র তাঁর উপর বিশ্বাস করো, তা নয়, কিন্তু তাঁর জন্য যেন কষ্টভোগও করো,
For to you it is given in behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but, also, to suffer for him,
30 কারণ আমাকে যে রকম দেখেছ ও শুনতে পাচ্ছ এবং এখনও যেমন হচ্ছে, তোমরাও সেই একই সংগ্রাম করে চলেছ।
since you have the same conflict that you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
