নহিমিয়ের বই 13

1 সেদিন লোকদের কাছে মোশির পুস্তক জোরে পড়া হল আর দেখা গেল সেখানে লেখা আছে যে কোনও অম্মোনীয় অথবা মোয়াবীয় ঈশ্বরের লোকদের সমাজে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না,

On the day that it was read aloud in [the] scroll of Moses in [the] ears of the people and it was found written in it that not he will come an Ammonite and a Moabite in [the] assembly of God until perpetuity.

2 কারণ তারা খাবার ও জল নিয়ে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেনি, বরং তাদের অভিশাপ দেবার জন্য বিলিয়মকে ভাড়া করেছিল। কিন্তু আমাদের ঈশ্বর সেই অভিশাপকে আশীর্বাদে পরিণত করেছিলেন।

For not they had met [the] people of Israel with food and with water and he had hired on it Balaam to curse it and he turned God our the curse into blessing.

3 লোকেরা যখন এই বিধান শুনল, তারা বিদেশিদের বংশধরদের সবাইকে ইস্রায়েলীদের সমাজ থেকে বাদ দিয়ে দিল।

And it was when heard they the law and they separated every person of mixed ancestry from Israel.

4 এর আগে ইলীয়াশীব যাজককে আমাদের ঈশ্বরের গৃহের ভাণ্ডারের দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছিল। সে টোবিয়ের নিকট আত্মীয় ছিল,

And before from this Eliashib the priest [was] appointed over [the] store-room of [the] house of God our [one] near to Tobiah.

5 যার জন্য তাকে একটি বড়ো ঘর দেওয়া হয়েছিল যা আগে শস্য-নৈবেদ্যের সামগ্রী, ধূপ ও উপাসনা গৃহের জিনিসপত্র এবং লেবীয়দের, গায়কদের ও দারোয়ানদের জন্য শস্যের, নতুন দ্রাক্ষারসের ও জলপাই তেলের দশমাংশ এবং যাজকদের যা দেওয়া হত তা রাখার জন্য ব্যবহার করা হত।

And he made for him a room large and there people were before putting the grain offering the frankincense and the utensils and [the] tithe of the grain the new wine and the fresh oil [the] commandment of the Levites and the singers and the gatekeepers and [the] contribution of the priests.

6 কিন্তু এসব যখন হচ্ছিল তখন আমি জেরুশালেমে ছিলাম না, কেননা ব্যাবিলনের রাজা অর্তক্ষস্তের বত্রিশ বছর রাজত্বের সময় আমি রাজার কাছে ফিরে গিয়েছিলাম। কিছুদিন পর আমি রাজার কাছে ফিরে আসার অনুমতি নিলাম

And in all this not I was in Jerusalem for in year thirty and two of Artaxerxes [the] king of Babylon I had gone to the king and to [the] end of days I requested leave of absence from the king.

7 আর জেরুশালেমে ফিরে এলাম। ঈশ্বরের গৃহে টোবিয়কে একটি ঘর দিয়ে ইলীয়াশীব যে মন্দ কাজ করেছে আমি তা জানলাম।

And I came to Jerusalem and I perceived! the evil thing which he had done Eliashib for Tobiah by making for him a room in [the] courtyards of [the] house of God.

8 আমি খুব অসন্তুষ্ট হলাম এবং টোবিয়ের সমস্ত জিনিসপত্র সেই ঘর থেকে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিলাম।

And it was displeasing to me exceedingly and I threw! all [the] articles of [the] household of Tobiah the outside from the room.

9 আমি আদেশ দিয়ে সেই ঘর শুচি করলাম আর ঈশ্বরের গৃহের শস্য উৎসর্গের জিনিস ও ধূপ আবার সেখানে এনে রাখলাম।

And I said! and people purified the store-rooms and I brought back! there [the] utensils of [the] house of God the grain offering and the frankincense.

10 আমি আরও জানতে পারলাম যে লেবীয়দের পাওনা অংশ তাদের দেওয়া হয়নি, এবং তাদের উপর যে দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছিল তা পালন না করে লেবীয়েরা ও গায়কেরা নিজের নিজের জমিতে ফিরে গেছে।

And I perceived! that [the] portions of the Levites not it had been given and they had fled each one to own field his the Levites and the singers [who] did the work.

11 তাতে আমি কর্মকর্তাদের অনুযোগ করে বললাম, “ঈশ্বরের গৃহ কেন অবহেলায় আছে?” তারপর আমি তাদের ডেকে একত্র করে নিজের নিজের পদে বহাল করলাম।

And I contended! with the officials and I said! why? has it been neglected [the] house of God and I assembled them and I made stand them at place their.

12 যিহূদার সমস্ত লোক তাদের শস্যের, নতুন দ্রাক্ষারস ও জলপাই তেলের দশমাংশ ভাণ্ডারে আনল।

And all Judah they brought [the] tithe of the grain and the new wine and the fresh oil to the storerooms.

13 আমি শেলিমিয় যাজক, সাদোক অধ্যাপককে ও লেবীয়দের মধ্যে পদায়কে ভাণ্ডার সকলের দায়িত্ব দিলাম এবং মত্তনিয়ের ছেলে সক্কূর ও সক্কুরের ছেলে হাননকে তাদের সহযোগী হিসেবে নিযুক্ত করলাম, কারণ সবাই এই লোকদের বিশ্বাসযোগ্য মনে করত। তাদের সহযোগী লেবীয়দের অংশ দেওয়ার জন্য তাদের দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হল।

And I appointed as treasurers! over [the] storerooms Shelemiah the priest and Zadok the scribe and Pedaiah one of the Levites and [was] on hand their Hanan [the] son of Zaccur [the] son of Mattaniah for reliable they were thought and [was] on them to distribute to brothers their.

14 হে আমার ঈশ্বর, এসব কাজের জন্য আমাকে মনে রেখো, আমি আমার ঈশ্বরের গৃহের জন্য ও তার পরিচর্যা কাজের জন্য বিশ্বস্তভাবে যা করেছি তা মুছে ফেলে দিয়ো না।

Remember! to me O God my on this and may not you wipe out loyalti my which I have done in [the] house of God my and in services its.

15 ওই সময় আমি দেখলাম যিহূদার লোকেরা বিশ্রামবারে দ্রাক্ষারস মাড়াইয়ের কাজ করছে আর শস্য, দ্রাক্ষারস, আঙুর, ডুমুর এবং সকল জিনিসের বোঝা গাধার উপর চাপাচ্ছে। আর বিশ্রামবারে এসব জিনিস জেরুশালেমে নিয়ে আসছে। সেইজন্য আমি তাদের সেদিন খাবার বিক্রি না করার জন্য সাবধান করলাম।

In the days those I saw in Judah - [some who] trod winepresses - on the sabbath and [some who] brought heaps of grain and [some who] loaded [them] on donkeys and also wine grapes and figs and every load and [some who] brought [them] Jerusalem on [the] day of the sabbath and I protested on [the] day sold they food.

16 জেরুশালেমে বাসকারী সোরের লোকেরা মাছ আর অন্যান্য জিনিস এনে বিশ্রামবারে জেরুশালেমে যিহূদার লোকদের কাছে বিক্রি করছিল।

And the Tyrians [who] they dwelt in it [were] bringing fish and every merchandise and [were] selling [it] on the sabbath to [the] people of Judah and in Jerusalem.

17 আমি যিহূদার গণ্যমান্য লোকদের তিরস্কার করে বললাম, “তোমরা এ কেমন মন্দ কাজ করছ, বিশ্রামবারকে অপবিত্র করছ?

And I contended! with [the] nobles of Judah and I said! to them what? [is] the thing evil this which you [are] doing and [are] profaning [the] day of the sabbath.

18 তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা কি সেই একই কাজ করেননি, যার দরুন আমাদের ঈশ্বর আমাদের উপর ও এই নগরের উপর এসব সর্বনাশ ঘটিয়েছেন? এখন তোমরা বিশ্রামবারের পবিত্রতা নষ্ট করে ইস্রায়েলীদের উপর ঈশ্বরের আরও ক্রোধ বাড়িয়ে তুলছ।”

¿ Not thus did they do ancestors your and he brought God our on us all the trouble this and on the city this and you [are] increasing anger toward Israel by profaning the sabbath.

19 আমি এই আদেশ দিলাম যে, বিশ্রামবারের আরম্ভে যখন জেরুশালেমের কবাটগুলির উপর সন্ধ্যা ছায়া নেমে আসবে তখন যেন কবাটগুলি বন্ধ করা হয় এবং বিশ্রামবার শেষ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত তা বন্ধ রাখা হয়। বিশ্রামবারে যাতে কোনও বোঝা ভিতরে আনা না হয় তা দেখবার জন্য আমি আমার নিজের কয়েকজন লোক কবাটগুলিতে নিযুক্ত করলাম।

And it was just when they became dark [the] gates of Jerusalem before the sabbath and I said! and they were closed the doors and I said! that not people will open them until after the sabbath and some of servants my I stationed at the gates not it will come a load on [the] day of the sabbath.

20 এতে ব্যবসায়ীরা ও যারা সব রকম জিনিস বিক্রি করত তারা দু-একবার জেরুশালেমের বাইরে রাত কাটাল।

And they passed [the] night the traders and [the] sellers of every merchandise from [the] outside of Jerusalem a time and two [times].

21 কিন্তু আমি তাদের সতর্ক করে বললাম, “তোমরা প্রাচীরের সামনে কেন রাত কাটাচ্ছ? তোমরা যদি আবার এই কাজ করো তবে আমি তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেব।” সেই থেকে তারা আর বিশ্রামবারে আসত না।

And I warned! them and I said! to them why? [are] you passing [the] night before the wall if you will do [it] again a hand I will stretch out on you from the time that not they came on the sabbath.

22 তারপর আমি লেবীয়দের আদেশ দিলাম যেন তারা নিজেদের শুচি করে এবং বিশ্রামবার পবিত্র রাখবার জন্য দ্বারগুলি পাহারা দেয়। হে আমার ঈশ্বর, এর জন্যও তুমি আমাকে মনে রেখো এবং তোমার মহান ভালোবাসাতে আমার প্রতি করুণা কোরো।

And I said! to the Levites that they will be purifying themselves and coming guarding the gates to keep holy [the] day of the sabbath also this remember! to me O God my and have mercy! on me according to [the] greatness of covenant loyalty your.

23 সেই সময় আমি এও দেখলাম যে, যিহূদার কোনও কোনও লোক অস্‌দোদ, অম্মোন ও মোয়াবের মেয়েদের বিয়ে করছে।

Also - in the days those I saw the Jews [who] they had married women (Ashdodite Ammonite *Q(k)*) Moabite.

24 তাদের অর্ধেক ছেলেমেয়ে অস্‌দোদের ভাষা কিংবা অন্যান্য জাতির ভাষায় কথা বলে, কিন্তু যিহূদার ভাষায় কথা বলতে জানে না।

And children their half [were] speaking Ashdodite and not they [were] knowing to speak [in] Judean and according to [the] language of people and people.

25 আমি তাদের তিরস্কার করে বললাম যেন তাদের উপর অভিশাপ নেমে আসে। কয়েকজনকে আমি মারলাম এবং চুল উপড়ে ফেললাম। আমি তাদের ঈশ্বরের নামে শপথ নিতে বাধ্য করলাম এবং বললাম: “তাদের ছেলেদের সঙ্গে তোমাদের মেয়েদের বিয়ে দেবে না, অথবা তোমাদের ছেলেদের জন্য কিংবা নিজেদের জন্য তাদের মেয়েদের গ্রহণ করবে না।

And I contended with them and I cursed them and I struck some of them men and I pulled out beard their and I made take an oath them by God if you will give daughters your to sons their and if you will take any of daughters their for sons your and for yourselves.

26 এরকম বিয়ে করার জন্য ইস্রায়েলের রাজা শলোমন কি পাপ করেনি? অন্য কোনও জাতির মধ্যে তার মতো রাজা কেউই ছিল না। তাঁর ঈশ্বর তাঁকে ভালোবাসতেন আর ঈশ্বর তাঁকে সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়দের উপর রাজা করেছিলেন, কিন্তু বিদেশি স্ত্রীরা তাঁকে পাপ করিয়েছিল।

¿ Not on these did he sin Solomon [the] king of Israel and among the nations many not he was a king like him and loved by God his he was and he made him God king over all Israel also him they caused to sin the wives foreign.

27 এখন আমাদের কি এই কথাই শুনতে হবে যে, তোমরাও এসব ভীষণ দুষ্টতার কাজ করেছ এবং বিদেশি স্ত্রীকে বিয়ে করে আমাদের ঈশ্বরের প্রতি অবিশ্বস্ত হয়েছ?”

And to you ¿ is it heard to do all the evil great this to act unfaithfully against God our by marrying wives foreign.

28 ইলীয়াশীব মহাযাজকের ছেলে যিহোয়াদার এক ছেলে হোরোণীয় সন্‌বল্লটের জামাই ছিল। আর আমি তাকে আমার কাছ থেকে তাড়িয়ে দিলাম।

And one of [the] sons of Joiada [the] son of Eliashib the priest great [was] a son-in-law of Sanballat the Horonite and I drove away him from with me.

29 হে আমার ঈশ্বর, এদের কথা মনে রেখো, কারণ এরা যাজকদের পদ এবং যাজকের পদের ও লেবীয়দের নিয়ম কলঙ্কিত করেছে।

Remember! to them O God my on [the] defilement of the priesthood and [the] covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.

30 সুতরাং আমি বিজাতীয় সকলের থেকে যাজক ও লেবীয়দের পবিত্র করলাম, এবং তাদের কাজ অনুসারে প্রত্যেকের কাজ ভাগ করে দিলাম।

And I purified them from all foreignness and I assigned! duties to the priests and to the Levites each one in own work his.

31 এছাড়া সময়মত কাঠ ও ফসলের অগ্রিমাংশ আনবার জন্যও আমি ব্যবস্থা করলাম। হে আমার ঈশ্বর, আমার মঙ্গল করার জন্য আমাকে মনে রেখো।

And for [the] offering of the wood at times appointed and for the first-fruits remember! to me O God my for good.
