মীখা ভাববাদীর পুস্তক 6
1 সদাপ্রভু কি বলছেন তা শোনো, “ওঠো, পর্বতের সামনে আমার কথা পেশ করো; তুমি যা বলছ তা পাহাড়গুলি শুনুক।
Hear, I pray you, what, Yahweh, is saying, —arise thou, maintain thy controversy before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice: —
2 “হে পর্বতসকল, সদাপ্রভুর অভিযোগ শোনো; হে পৃথিবীর চিরস্থায়ী ভিত্তিমূলগুলি, তোমরাও শোনো। তাঁর নিজের লোকদের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভুর কিছু বলার আছে; তিনি ইস্রায়েলীদের বিরুদ্ধে একটি অভিযোগ আনছেন।
Hear, ye mountains, the controversy of Yahweh, and ye lasting rocks, the foundations of the earth, —for, a controversy, hath Yahweh, with his people, and, with Israel, will he dispute.
3 “হে আমার লোকেরা, আমি তোমাদের কি করেছি? কীভাবে আমি তোমাদের কষ্ট দিয়েছি? আমাকে উত্তর দাও।
O my people! what have I done to thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? Testify thou against me!
4 আমি তোমাদের মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছি এবং দাসত্বের দেশ থেকে উদ্ধার করেছি। তোমাদের পরিচালনা করার জন্য আমি মোশি, হারোণ আর মরিয়মকে পাঠিয়েছি।
For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and, out of the house of slaves, I ransomed thee, —and I sent before thee, Moses, Aaron and Miriam.
5 হে আমার লোকেরা, স্মরণ করো মোয়াবের রাজা বালাক তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যে পরিকল্পনা করেছিল, এবং বিয়োরের পুত্র বিলিয়ম কি উত্তর দিয়েছিল। শিটিম থেকে গিল্গল পর্যন্ত তোমাদের যাত্রার কথা মনে করো, যেন তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর ধার্মিকতার কাজগুলি জানতে পারো।”
O my people! remember, I pray you, what Balak king of Moab, counseled, and what Balaam son of Beor, answered him, —from the Acacias as far as Gilgal, that ye may know the righteousness of Yahweh.
6 আমি কি নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে যাব এবং স্বর্গের ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা করব? আমি কি হোমবলির জন্য তাঁর সামনে যাব, কয়েকটি এক বছরের বাছুর নিয়ে?
Wherewith, shall I come before Yahweh? bow myself to God on high? Shall I come before him with ascending-sacrifice? with calves of a year old?
7 সদাপ্রভু কি হাজার হাজার মেষ, কিংবা দশ হাজার নদী ভরা জলপাই তেলে খুশি হবেন? আমার অন্যায়ের জন্য কি আমি আমার প্রথম সন্তান, আমার পাপের জন্য নিজের শরীরের ফল উৎসর্গ করব?
Will Yahweh, be pleased, with thousands of rams? with myriads of torrents of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression? the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 হে মানুষ, যা ভালো তা তো তিনি তোমাকে দেখিয়েছেন। সদাপ্রভু তোমার কাছ থেকে কী চাইছেন জানো? শুধুমাত্র এইটা যে, ন্যায্য কাজ করা ও ভালোবাসা এবং তোমার সদাপ্রভুর সঙ্গে নম্র হয়ে চলা।
He hath told thee, O son of earth, what is good, —what then is, Yahweh, seeking of thee, but, to do justice, to delight in lovingkindness, and humbly to walk with thy God?
9 শোনো! সদাপ্রভু নগরের লোকদের ডাকছেন, আর তোমার নামের ভয় করা হল প্রজ্ঞা, “শাস্তির লাঠি এবং সেটিকে যিনি নিযুক্ত করেছেন তাঁর দিকে মনোযোগ দাও!
The voice of Yahweh, to the city, crieth out, With safety for him who regardeth his name, —Hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
10 হে দুষ্ট ঘর, আমি কি ভুলে যাব অসৎ উপায়ে পাওয়া তোমার ধনসম্পদ এবং কম মাপের ঐফা, যা অভিশপ্ত?
Even yet, are there, in the house of the lawless one, the treasures of lawlessness, —and the scant measure—accurst?
11 আমি কি তাকে নির্দোষ মানব যার কাছে অসাধু দাঁড়িপাল্লা এবং থলিতে কম ওজনের বাটখারা আছে?
Shall I be pure with lawless balances? or with bag of deceitful weights?
12 তোমাদের ধনী লোকেরা অত্যাচারী; তোমাদের অধিবাসীরা মিথ্যাবাদী এবং তাদের জিভ ছলনার কথা বলে।
For, her rich men, are full of violence, and, her inhabitants, have spoken falsehood, —and, their tongue, is deceitful in their mouth.
13 সুতরাং, আমি তোমাদের পাপের জন্য ভীষণভাবে শাস্তি দেব ও তোমাদের ধ্বংস করব।
Moreover also, I, have made thee sick with smiting thee, —laying thee waste because of thy sins.
14 তোমরা খাবে কিন্তু তৃপ্ত হবে না; তোমাদের পেট তখনও খালি থাকবে। তোমরা সঞ্চয় করার চেষ্টা করবে কিন্তু হবে না, কারণ তোমরা যা কিছু রক্ষা করবে তা আমি তরোয়ালকে দেব।
Thou, shalt eat—and not be satisfied, but be shrunk with hunger within thee, —Though thou remove, yet shalt thou not set in safety, and, what thou dost set in safety, to the sword, will I deliver.
15 তোমরা বীজ বুনবে কিন্তু ফসল কাটতে পারবে না; তোমরা জলপাই মাড়াই করবে কিন্তু তার তেল ব্যবহার করতে পারবে না, তোমরা দ্রাক্ষামাড়াই করবে কিন্তু তার রস পান করতে পারবে না।
Thou, shalt sow, but shalt not reap, —thou, shalt tread the olive, but shalt not anoint thee with oil, also the grape, but shalt not drink the wine.
16 তোমরা অম্রির নিয়ম পালন করেছ এবং আহাবের পরিবারের সব অভ্যাসমতো চলেছ; তোমরা তাদের প্রথা অনুসরণ করেছ। সুতরাং, আমি তোমাদের ধ্বংসের হাতে তুলে দেব আর তোমাদের লোকদের ঠাট্টার পাত্র করব; তোমরা পরজাতিদের অবজ্ঞা ভোগ করবে।”
For strictly observed are the statutes of Omri, and every doing of the house of Ahab, and ye have walked in their counsels, —to the end I may give thee up to desolation, and her inhabitants to hissing, that, the reproach of peoples, ye may bear.
