1 সেইদিনই যীশু বাড়ি থেকে বের হয়ে সাগরের তীরে গিয়ে বসলেন।
On that day Jesus went out of the house and was seated by the seaside.
2 তাঁর চারপাশে এত লোক সমবেত হল যে তিনি একটি নৌকায় উঠলেন ও তার উপরে বসলেন। সব লোক তীরে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল।
And great numbers of people came together to him, so that he got into a boat; and the people took up their position by the sea.
3 তখন তিনি রূপকের মাধ্যমে তাদের অনেক কথা বলতে লাগলেন। তিনি বললেন, “একজন কৃষক তার বীজবপন করতে গেল।
And he gave them teaching in the form of a story, saying, A man went out to put seed in the earth;
4 সে যখন বীজ ছড়াচ্ছিল, কিছু বীজ পথের ধারে পড়ল, আর পাখিরা এসে তা খেয়ে ফেলল।
And while he did so, some seeds were dropped by the wayside, and the birds came and took them for food:
5 কিছু বীজ পাথুরে জমিতে পড়ল, যেখানে মাটি গভীর ছিল না। মাটি অগভীর থাকাতে সেগুলো দ্রুত অঙ্কুরিত হল,
And some of the seed went among the stones, where it had not much earth, and straight away it came up because the earth was not deep:
6 কিন্তু যখন সূর্য উঠল চারাগুলি ঝলসে গেল এবং মূল না থাকাতে সেগুলি শুকিয়ে গেল।
And when the sun was high, it was burned; and because it had no root it became dry and dead.
7 অন্য কিছু বীজ পড়ল কাঁটাঝোপের মধ্যে। সেগুলি বৃদ্ধি পেলে কাঁটাঝোপ তাদের চেপে রাখল।
And some seeds went among thorns, and the thorns came up and they had no room for growth:
8 তবুও কিছু বীজ উৎকৃষ্ট জমিতে পড়ল ও ফসল উৎপন্ন করল—যা বপন করা হয়েছিল তার শতগুণ, ষাটগুণ বা ত্রিশগুণ পর্যন্ত।
And some, falling on good earth, gave fruit, some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times as much.
9 যাদের কান আছে, তারা শুনুক।”
He who has ears, let him give ear.
10 শিষ্যেরা তাঁর কাছে এসে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আপনি লোকদের কাছে রূপকের মাধ্যমে কথা বলছেন কেন?”
And the disciples came and said to him, Why do you say things to them in the form of stories?
11 উত্তরে তিনি বললেন, “স্বর্গরাজ্যের গুপ্তরহস্য তোমাদের জানতে দেওয়া হয়েছে, তাদেরকে নয়।
And he said to them in answer, To you is given the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 যার কাছে আছে, তাকে আরও দেওয়া হবে ও তার অনেক হবে। যার কাছে নেই, তার কাছে যা আছে, তাও তার কাছ থেকে কেড়ে নেওয়া হবে।
Because whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have more; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
13 এই কারণে আমি তাদের কাছে রূপকের মাধ্যমে কথা বলছি: “‘যেন দেখেও তারা দেখতে না পায়, শুনেও তারা শুনতে বা বুঝতে না পায়।’
For this reason I put things into the form of stories; because they see without seeing, and give ear without hearing, and the sense is not clear to them.
14 তাদের মধ্যেই যিশাইয়ের এই ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী পূর্ণ হয়েছে: “‘তোমরা সবসময়ই শুনতে থাকবে, কিন্তু কখনও বুঝতে পারবে না; তোমরা সবসময়ই দেখতে থাকবে, কিন্তু কখনও উপলব্ধি করবে না।
And for them the words of Isaiah have come true, Though you give ear, you will not get knowledge; and seeing, you will see, but the sense will not be clear to you:
15 কারণ এই লোকেদের হৃদয় অনুভূতিহীন হয়েছে, তারা কদাচিৎ তাদের কান দিয়ে শোনে এবং তারা তাদের চোখ বন্ধ করেছে। অন্যথায়, তারা হয়তো তাদের চোখ দিয়ে দেখবে, তাদের কান দিয়ে শুনবে, তাদের মন দিয়ে বুঝবে ও ফিরে আসবে, যেন আমি তাদের আরোগ্য দান করি।’
For the heart of this people has become fat and their ears are slow in hearing and their eyes are shut; for fear that they might see with their eyes and give hearing with their ears and become wise in their hearts and be turned again to me, so that I might make them well.
16 কিন্তু ধন্য তোমাদের চোখ কারণ সেগুলি দেখতে পায় ও তোমাদের কান কারণ সেগুলি শুনতে পায়।
But a blessing be on your eyes, because they see; and on your ears, because they are open.
17 কারণ আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, তোমরা যা দেখছ, বহু ভাববাদী ও ধার্মিক ব্যক্তি, তা দেখতে চেয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু তাঁরা তা দেখতে পাননি এবং তোমরা যা শুনছ, তাঁরা তা শুনতে চেয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু শুনতে পাননি।
For truly, I say to you that prophets and upright men had a desire to see the things which you see, and saw them not; and to have knowledge of the words which have come to your ears, and they had it not.
18 “তাহলে শোনো, বীজবপকের রূপকের তাৎপর্য কী:
Give ear, then, to the story of the man who put the seed in the earth.
19 যখন কেউ স্বর্গরাজ্যের বার্তা শোনে অথচ বোঝে না, তখন সেই পাপাত্মা এসে তার হৃদয়ে যা বপন করা হয়েছিল, তা হরণ করে নেয়। এ সেই বীজ, যা পথের ধারে বপন করা হয়েছিল।
When the word of the kingdom comes to anyone, and the sense of it is not clear to him, then the Evil One comes, and quickly takes away that which was put in his heart. He is the seed dropped by the wayside.
20 আর পাথুরে জমিতে বপন করা বীজের সম্বন্ধে বলা হয়েছে, যে বাক্য শোনামাত্র তা সানন্দে গ্রহণ করে,
And that which went on the stones, this is he who, hearing the word, straight away takes it with joy;
21 কিন্তু যেহেতু তার অন্তরে মূল নেই, সে অল্পকালমাত্র স্থির থাকে। আর বাক্যের কারণে যখন কষ্ট বা অত্যাচার আসে, সে দ্রুত পিছিয়ে যায়।
But having no root in himself, he goes on for a time; and when trouble comes or pain, because of the word, he quickly becomes full of doubts.
22 আর যে বীজ কাঁটাঝোপে বপন করা হয়েছিল, সে সেই মানুষ যে বাক্য শোনে কিন্তু এই জীবনের সব দুশ্চিন্তা ও ধনসম্পদের প্রতারণা তা চেপে রাখে, এতে তা ফলহীন হয়। (aiōn g165)
And that which was dropped among the thorns, this is he who has the word; and the cares of this life, and the deceits of wealth, put a stop to the growth of the word and it gives no fruit. (aiōn g165)
23 কিন্তু উৎকৃষ্ট জমিতে যে বীজবপন করা হয়েছিল, সে সেই ব্যক্তি যে বাক্য শোনে ও তা বোঝে। যা বপন করা হয়েছিল সে তার শতগুণ, ষাটগুণ বা ত্রিশগুণ ফসল উৎপন্ন করে।”
And the seed which was put in good earth, this is he who gives ear to the word, and gets the sense of it; who gives fruit, some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times as much.
24 যীশু তাদের আর একটি রূপকের কথা বললেন: “স্বর্গরাজ্য এমন একজন মানুষের মতো, যিনি তার মাঠে উৎকৃষ্ট বীজবপন করলেন।
And he gave them another story, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man who put good seed in his field:
25 কিন্তু সবাই যখন নিদ্রাচ্ছন্ন, তার শত্রুরা এসে গমের সঙ্গে শ্যামাঘাসেরও বীজবপন করে চলে গেল।
But while men were sleeping, one who had hate for him came and put evil seeds among the grain, and went away.
26 পরে গম অঙ্কুরিত হয়ে যখন শিষ দেখা দিল, তখন শ্যামাঘাসও দেখা গেল।
But when the green stem came up and gave fruit, the evil plants were seen at the same time.
27 “এতে সেই মনিবের দাসেরা তার কাছে এসে বলল, ‘মহাশয়, আপনি কি আপনার ক্ষেত্রে উৎকৃষ্ট বীজবপন করেননি? তাহলে এই শ্যামাঘাসগুলি কোথা থেকে এল?’
And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, Sir, did you not put good seed in your field? how then has it evil plants?
28 “‘কোনো শত্রু এরকম করেছে,’ তিনি উত্তর দিলেন। “দাসেরা তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, ‘আপনি কি চান, আমরা গিয়ে শ্যামাঘাসগুলি উপড়ে ফেলি?’
And he said, Someone has done this in hate. And the servants say to him, Is it your pleasure that we go and take them up?
29 “‘না,’ তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, ‘কারণ শ্যামাঘাস উপড়ানোর সময়, তোমরা হয়তো তার সঙ্গে গমও শিকড়শুদ্ধ তুলে ফেলবে।
But he says, No, for fear that by chance while you take up the evil plants, you may be rooting up the grain with them.
30 শস্য কাটার দিন পর্যন্ত উভয়কে একসঙ্গে বাড়তে দাও। সেই সময়ে, আমি শস্যচয়নকারীদের বলে দেব: প্রথমে শ্যামাঘাস সংগ্রহ করে পোড়াবার জন্য আঁটি বাঁধো; তারপরে গম সংগ্রহ করে আমার গোলাঘরে এনে মজুত করো।’”
Let them come up together till the getting in of the grain; and then I will say to the workers, Take up first the evil plants, and put them together for burning: but put the grain into my store-house.
31 তিনি তাদের অন্য একটি রূপক বললেন: “স্বর্গরাজ্য এমন একটি সর্ষে বীজের মতো, যা একজন ব্যক্তি নিয়ে তার মাঠে রোপণ করল।
He put another story before them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his field:
32 যদিও সব বীজের মধ্যে ওই বীজ ক্ষুদ্রতম, তবুও তা যখন বৃদ্ধি পেল তা অন্য সব গাছপালাকে ছাড়িয়ে গেল ও একটি গাছে পরিণত হল। ফলে আকাশের পাখিরা এসে তার শাখাপ্রশাখায় বাসা বাঁধল।”
Which is smaller than all seeds; but when it has come up it is greater than the plants, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of heaven come and make their resting-places in its branches.
33 তিনি তাদের আরও একটি রূপক বললেন: “স্বর্গরাজ্য এমন খামিরের মতো, যা একজন স্ত্রীলোক তিন পাল্লা ময়দার সঙ্গে মেশালো, ফলে সমস্ত তালটিই ফেঁপে উঠল।”
Another story he gave to them: The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took, and put in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.
34 লোকেদের কাছে যীশু এই সমস্ত বিষয় রূপকের মাধ্যমে বললেন; রূপক ব্যবহার না করে তিনি তাদের কাছে কোনো কথাই বললেন না।
All these things Jesus said to the people in the form of stories; and without a story he said nothing to them:
35 এভাবেই ভাববাদীর মাধ্যমে কথিত বচন পূর্ণ হল: “আমি রূপকের মাধ্যমে আমার মুখ খুলব, জগৎ সৃষ্টির লগ্ন থেকে গুপ্ত বিষয়গুলি আমি উচ্চারণ করব।”
That it might come true which was said by the prophet, Opening my mouth, I will give out stories; I will give knowledge of things kept secret from before all time.
36 এরপর তিনি সকলকে বিদায় দিয়ে ঘরে ঢুকলেন। তাঁর শিষ্যেরা তাঁর কাছে এসে বললেন, “মাঠের শ্যামাঘাসের রূপকটি আমাদের কাছে ব্যাখ্যা করুন।”
Then he went away from the people, and went into the house; and his disciples came to him, saying, Make clear to us the story of the evil plants in the field.
37 তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “যিনি উৎকৃষ্ট বীজবপন করেন তিনি মনুষ্যপুত্র।
And he made answer and said, He who puts the good seed in the earth is the Son of man;
38 মাঠ হল জগৎ এবং উৎকৃষ্ট বীজ হল স্বর্গরাজ্যের সন্তানেরা। শ্যামাঘাস হল সেই পাপাত্মার সন্তানেরা।
And the field is the world; and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom; and the evil seeds are the sons of the Evil One;
39 আর যে শত্রু তাদের বপন করেছিল সে হল দিয়াবল। শস্য কাটার সময় হচ্ছে যুগের শেষ সময় এবং যাঁরা শস্য কাটবেন তাঁরা হলেন সব স্বর্গদূত। (aiōn g165)
And he who put them in the earth is Satan; and the getting in of the grain is the end of the world; and those who get it in are the angels. (aiōn g165)
As then the evil plants are got together and burned with fire, so will it be in the end of the world. (aiōn g165)
41 মনুষ্যপুত্র তাঁর দূতদের পাঠাবেন। তাঁরা তাঁর রাজত্ব থেকে যা কিছু পাপের কারণস্বরূপ ও যারা অন্যায় আচরণ করে তাদের উৎখাত করবেন।
The Son of man will send out his angels, and they will take out of his kingdom everything which is a cause of error, and all those who do wrong,
42 তাঁরা তাদের জ্বলন্ত অগ্নিকুণ্ডে নিক্ষেপ করবেন, যেখানে হবে কেবলই রোদন ও দন্তঘর্ষণ।
And will put them into the fire; there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.
43 তখন ধার্মিকেরা তাদের পিতার রাজ্যে সূর্যের মতো দীপ্যমান হবে। যার কান আছে, সে শুনুক।
Then will the upright be shining as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him give ear.
44 “স্বর্গরাজ্য হল মাঠে লুকোনো ধনসম্পদের মতো। যখন কোনো মানুষ তার সন্ধান পায় সে পুনরায় তা লুকিয়ে রাখে। পরে আনন্দে সে গিয়ে সর্বস্ব বিক্রি করে ও মাঠটি কিনে নিল।
The kingdom of heaven is like a secret store of wealth in a field, which a man came across and put back again; and in his joy he goes and gives all he has, to get that field.
45 “আবার স্বর্গরাজ্য এমন এক বণিকের মতো, যে উৎকৃষ্ট সব মুক্তার অন্বেষণ করছিল।
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a trader searching for beautiful jewels.
46 যখন সে অমূল্য এক মুক্তার সন্ধান পেল সে ফিরে গিয়ে সর্বস্ব বিক্রি করে তা কিনে নিল।
And having come across one jewel of great price, he went and gave all he had in exchange for it.
47 “আবার স্বর্গরাজ্য এমন এক টানা-জালের মতো যা সাগরে নিক্ষেপ করা হলে সব ধরনের মাছ ধরা পড়ল।
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net, which was put into the sea and took in every sort of fish:
48 জালটি পূর্ণ হলে জেলেরা তা টেনে তীরে তুলল। তারপর তারা বসে ভালো মাছগুলি ঝুড়িতে সংগ্রহ করল, কিন্তু মন্দগুলিকে ফেলে দিল।
When it was full, they took it up on the sands; and seated there they put the good into vessels, but the bad they put away.
49 যুগের শেষ সময়ে এরকমই ঘটনা ঘটবে। স্বর্গদূতেরা এসে ধার্মিকদের মধ্যে থেকে দুষ্টদের পৃথক করবেন এবং (aiōn g165)
So will it be in the end of the world: the angels will come and take out the bad from the good, (aiōn g165)
50 জ্বলন্ত অগ্নিকুণ্ডে তাদের নিক্ষেপ করবেন, যেখানে হবে কেবলই রোদন ও দন্তঘর্ষণ।”
And will put them into the fire: there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.
51 যীশু জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তোমরা কি এসব বিষয় বুঝতে পেরেছ?” তারা উত্তর দিলেন, “হ্যাঁ।”
Are all these things now clear to you? They say to him, Yes.
52 তিনি তাদের বললেন, “এই কারণে স্বর্গরাজ্যের বিষয়ে শিক্ষাপ্রাপ্ত প্রত্যেক শাস্ত্রবিদ এমন এক গৃহস্থের মতো যিনি তার ভাণ্ডার থেকে নতুন ও পুরোনো, উভয় প্রকার সম্পদই বের করে থাকেন।”
And he said to them, For this reason every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house, who gives out from his store things new and old.
53 যীশু যখন এসব রূপক বলা শেষ করলেন, তিনি সেখান থেকে অন্যত্র চলে গেলেন।
And when Jesus had come to the end of these stories he went away from there.
54 নিজ নগরে ফিরে এসে তিনি সমাজভবনে লোকদের শিক্ষা দিতে লাগলেন। এতে তারা আশ্চর্য হয়ে গেল। তারা প্রশ্ন করল, “এই লোকটি কোথা থেকে এমন জ্ঞান ও এই অলৌকিক ক্ষমতা পেল?
And coming into his country, he gave them teaching in their Synagogue, so that they were greatly surprised and said, Where did this man get this wisdom and these works of power?
55 এ কি সেই কাঠ মিস্ত্রির পুত্র নয়? এর মায়ের নাম কি মরিয়ম নয়? আর যাকোব, যোষেফ, শিমোন ও যিহূদা কি এর ভাই নয়?
Is not this the woodworker's son? is not his mother named Mary? and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
56 এর বোনেরা কি আমাদের মধ্যে নেই? তাহলে ও কোথা থেকে এসব পেল?”
And his sisters, are they not all with us? from where, then, has he all these things?
57 এভাবে তারা তাঁর প্রতি বিরূপ হয়ে উঠল। কিন্তু যীশু তাদের বললেন, “কেবলমাত্র নিজের দেশ ও নিজের পরিবারেই কোনো ভাববাদী সম্মান পান না।”
And they were bitter against him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is nowhere without honour but in his country and among his family.
58 তাদের বিশ্বাসের অভাবে তিনি সেখানে বিশেষ আর অলৌকিক কাজ করলেন না।
And the works of power which he did there were small in number because they had no faith.
