মথি 12
1 সেই সময়ে যীশু বিশ্রামদিনে শস্যক্ষেত্রের মধ্য দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন। তাঁর শিষ্যেরা ক্ষুধার্ত ছিলেন। তাঁরা শস্যের শিষ ছিঁড়ে খেতে লাগলেন।
In that season, went Jesus, on, the sabbath, through the cornfields, —and, his disciples, hungered, and began to pluck ears of corn, and to eat.
2 এ দেখে ফরিশীরা তাঁকে বলল, “দেখুন! বিশ্রামদিনে যা করা বিধিসংগত নয়, আপনার শিষ্যেরা তাই করছে।”
But, the Pharisees, observing it, said unto him, Lo! thy disciples, are doing what is not allowed to do, on sabbath.
3 তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “দাউদ ও তাঁর সঙ্গীরা যখন ক্ষুধার্ত ছিলেন, তখন তাঁরা কী করেছিলেন, তা কি তোমরা পাঠ করোনি?
And he said unto them, have ye never read what, David, did, when he hungered, and they who were with him? how
4 তিনি ঈশ্বরের গৃহে প্রবেশ করেছিলেন এবং তিনি ও তাঁর সঙ্গীরা সেই পবিত্র রুটি খেয়েছিলেন, যা করা তাঁদের পক্ষে বিধিসংগত ছিল না, কিন্তু কেবলমাত্র যাজকদেরই ছিল।
he entered into the house of God and, the presence-bread, did eat, which it was not, allowable, for him to eat, nor for them who were with him, —save for the priests, alone?
5 কিংবা, তোমরা কি মোশির বিধানে (বিধিগ্রন্থে) পড়োনি যে, বিশ্রামদিনে যাজকেরা মন্দির অপবিত্র করলেও তাঁরা নির্দোষ থাকতেন?
Or have ye not read, in the law, that, on the sabbaths, the priests, in the temple, the sabbath, profane, and are, blameless?
6 আমি তোমাদের বলছি, মন্দির থেকেও মহান এক ব্যক্তি এখানে আছেন।
But I say unto you, —Something greater than the Temple, is here!
7 ‘আমি দয়া চাই, বলিদান নয়,’ এই বাক্যের মর্ম যদি তোমরা বুঝতে, তাহলে নির্দোষদের তোমরা দোষী সাব্যস্ত করতে না।
If, however, ye had known what this meaneth—Mercy, I desire, and not, sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the blameless;
8 কারণ, মনুষ্যপুত্রই হলেন বিশ্রামদিনের প্রভু।”
For, the Son of Man, is, Lord of the Sabbath.
9 সেই স্থান থেকে চলে গিয়ে, তিনি তাদের সমাজভবনে প্রবেশ করলেন।
And, passing on from thence, he came into their synagogue;
10 সেখানে একটি লোক ছিল, যার একটি হাত শুকিয়ে গিয়েছিল। যীশুকে অভিযুক্ত করার মতো কোনো সূত্র পাওয়ার সন্ধানে তারা তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “বিশ্রামদিনে সুস্থ করা কি বিধিসংগত?”
and lo! a man having, a withered hand, and they questioned him, saying, Is it allowable, on the sabbath, to heal? that they might accuse him.
11 তিনি তাদের বললেন, “তোমাদের মধ্যে কারও যদি একটি মেষ থাকে ও সেটি বিশ্রামদিনে গর্তে পড়ে যায়, তাহলে তোমরা কি সেটিকে ধরে তুলবে না?
And said unto them, What man, from among yourselves, [shall there be], —Who shall have one sheep, and, if this should fall, on the sabbath, into a pit, will not lay hold of it, and raise it?
12 একটি মেষের চেয়ে একজন মানুষ আরও কত না মূল্যবান! সেই কারণে, বিশ্রামদিনে ভালো কাজ করা ন্যায়সংগত।”
How much better, then, a man, than, a sheep? So that it is allowable, on the sabbath, nobly, to act.
13 তারপর তিনি সেই লোকটিকে বললেন, “তোমার হাতটি বাড়িয়ে দাও।” তাই সে হাতটি বাড়িয়ে দিল এবং সেটি অন্য হাতটির মতোই সম্পূর্ণ সুস্থ হয়ে গেল।
Then saith he unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand! And he stretched it forth, —and it was restored, whole, as the other.
14 কিন্তু ফরিশীরা বাইরে গিয়ে কীভাবে যীশুকে হত্যা করতে পারে, তার ষড়যন্ত্র করতে লাগল।
And the Pharisees, going forth, took, counsel, against him, to the end that, him, they might destroy.
15 সেকথা জানতে পেরে, যীশু সেই স্থান থেকে চলে গেলেন। বহু মানুষ তাঁকে অনুসরণ করল এবং তিনি তাদের সব অসুস্থ মানুষকে সুস্থ করলেন।
But, Jesus, taking note, retired from thence, —and many followed him, and he cured them all;
16 তিনি তাদের সতর্ক করলেন তারা যেন কাউকে না বলে যে, আসলে তিনি কে।
and straitly charged them, lest they should make him, manifest:
17 এরকম হল যেন ভাববাদী যিশাইয়ের মাধ্যমে কথিত বচন পূর্ণ হয়:
that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: —
18 “এই দেখো আমার দাস, আমার মনোনীত, যাঁকে আমি প্রেম করি, যাঁর প্রতি আমি পরম প্রসন্ন; আমি তাঁর উপরে আমার আত্মাকে স্থাপন করব, আর তিনি সর্বজাতির কাছে ন্যায়ের বাণী প্রচার করবেন।
Lo! my servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom, my soul, delighteth, —I will put my Spirit upon him, and, justice, unto the nations, will he report:
19 তিনি কলহবিবাদ করবেন না, উচ্চরবে চিৎকার করবেন না, পথে পথে কেউ তাঁর কণ্ঠস্বর শুনতে পাবে না।
He will not strive, nor will he cry out, nor shall any hear, in the broadways, his voice:
20 তিনি দলিত নলখাগড়া ভেঙে ফেলবেন না, এবং ধূমায়িত সলতে নির্বাপিত করবেন না, যতক্ষণ না ন্যায়বিচারকে প্রবলরূপে বলবৎ করেন।
A bruised cane, will he not break, and, a smoking wick, will he not quench, —until he urge on, justice, to victory,
21 আর সর্বজাতি তাঁরই নামে তাদের প্রত্যাশা রাখবে।”
And, in his name, shall nations hope.
22 তারপর তারা একজন ভূতগ্রস্ত ব্যক্তিকে তাঁর কাছে নিয়ে এল। সে ছিল অন্ধ ও বোবা। যীশু তাকে সুস্থ করলেন, আর সে দৃষ্টি ও বাক্ শক্তি, উভয়ই ফিরে পেল।
Then they brought unto him, one demonized, blind and dumb, —and he cured him, so that the dumb did speak and see.
23 সব মানুষ চমৎকৃত হয়ে বলল, “ইনি কি সেই দাউদের সন্তান?”
And all the multitudes were beside themselves, and were saying, Can, this one, be, the Son of David?
24 কিন্তু ফরিশীরা একথা শুনে বলল, “এই লোকটি তো ভূতদের অধিপতি, বেলসবুলের দ্বারা ভূত তাড়ায়।”
But, the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This one, doth not cast out the demons, save in Beelzebul ruler of the demons.
25 যীশু তাদের মনের কথা বুঝতে পেরে তাদের বললেন, “যে কোনো রাজ্য অন্তর্বিরোধের ফলে বিভাজিত হলে, তা ধ্বংস হয়, আর যে কোনো নগর বা পরিবার অন্তর্বিরোধের কারণে বিভাজিত হলে, তা স্থির থাকতে পারে না।
And, knowing their inward thoughts, he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself, is laid waste, —and, no city or house divided against itself, will stand;
26 শয়তান যদি শয়তানকে বিতাড়িত করে, সে তার নিজের বিপক্ষেই বিভাজিত হবে। তাহলে কীভাবে তার রাজ্য স্থির থাকবে?
And, if, Satan, is casting, Satan, out, against himself, hath he become divided, —How then shall, his kingdom, stand?
27 আর আমি যদি বেলসবুলের দ্বারা ভূত তাড়িয়ে থাকি, তাহলে তোমাদের লোকেরা কার সাহায্যে তাদের তাড়ায়? সেই কারণে, তারাই তোমাদের বিচারক হবে।
And, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, judges of you.
28 কিন্তু যদি আমি ঈশ্বরের আত্মার সাহায্যে ভূতদের বিতাড়িত করি, তাহলে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য তোমাদের উপরে এসে পড়েছে।
But, if, in God’s Spirit, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless hath come upon you unawares, the kingdom of God!
29 “আবার, কীভাবে কেউ কোনো শক্তিশালী ব্যক্তির বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করে তার ধনসম্পত্তি লুট করতে পারে, যতক্ষণ না সেই শক্তিশালী ব্যক্তিকে বেঁধে ফেলে? কেবলমাত্র তখনই সে তার বাড়ি লুট করতে পারবে।
Or how can one enter the house of the mighty and, seize his goods, unless, first, he bind the mighty one? and, then, his house, he will plunder.
30 “যে আমার পক্ষে নয়, সে আমার বিপক্ষে, আর যে আমার সঙ্গে সংগ্রহ করে না, সে ছড়িয়ে ফেলে।
He that is no with me, is, against me, —and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth
31 আর তাই আমি তোমাদের বলছি, মানুষের সব পাপ ও ঈশ্বরনিন্দার ক্ষমা হবে, কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মার বিরুদ্ধে নিন্দা ক্ষমা করা হবে না।
Wherefore, I say unto you, All sin and profane speaking, shall be forgiven unto men, —but, the speaking profanely of the Spirit, shall not be forgiven;
32 কোনো ব্যক্তি মনুষ্যপুত্রের বিরুদ্ধে কিছু বললে তাকে ক্ষমা করা হবে, কিন্তু কেউ যদি পবিত্র আত্মার বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলে, তাকে ইহকাল বা পরকাল, কোনো কালেই ক্ষমা করা হবে না। (aiōn g165)
And, whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him, —but, whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or the coming. (aiōn g165)
33 “গাছ ভালো হলে তার ফলও ভালো হবে, আবার গাছ মন্দ হলে তার ফলও মন্দ হবে, কারণ ফল দেখেই গাছ চেনা যায়।
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree worthless, and its fruit worthless; for, from the fruit, the tree is known.
34 তোমরা বিষধর সাপের বংশধর! তোমাদের মতো মন্দ মানুষ কীভাবে কোনও ভালো কথা বলতে পারে? কারণ হৃদয় থেকে যা উপচে পড়ে মুখ সেকথাই ব্যক্ত করে।
Broods of vipers! How can ye speak, good things, being, evil? For, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
35 ভালো মানুষ তার অন্তরের সঞ্চিত ভালো ভাণ্ডার থেকে ভালো বিষয়ই বের করে এবং মন্দ মানুষ তার অন্তরের সঞ্চিত মন্দ ভাণ্ডার থেকে মন্দ বিষয়ই বের করে।
The good man, out of the good treasure, putteth forth, good things; and, the evil man, out of the evil treasure, putteth forth, evil things.
36 কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের বলছি, মানুষ যত অনর্থক কথা বলে, বিচারদিনে তাকে তার প্রত্যেকটির জবাবদিহি করতে হবে।
But I say unto you, That, every useless expression that men shall utter, they shall render, concerning it, an account, in a day of judgment;
37 কারণ তোমাদের কথার দ্বারাই তোমরা অব্যাহতি পাবে, আর তোমাদের কথার দ্বারাই তোমরা অপরাধী সাব্যস্ত হবে।”
For, by thy words, shalt thou be, justified, and, by thy words, shalt thou be condemned.
38 এরপরে কয়েকজন ফরিশী ও শাস্ত্রবিদ তাঁকে বলল, “গুরুমহাশয়, আমরা আপনার কাছ থেকে কোনও অলৌকিক চিহ্ন দেখতে চাই।”
Then, answered him, certain of the Scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher! we desire of thee, a sign, to behold.
39 তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “দুষ্ট ও ব্যভিচারী প্রজন্মই অলৌকিক চিহ্ন দেখতে চায়! কিন্তু ভাববাদী যোনার চিহ্ন ছাড়া আর কোনো চিহ্নই কাউকে দেওয়া হবে না।
But, he, answering, said unto them, A wicked and adulterous generation, a sign, doth seek, and, a sign, will not be, given, it, save the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 কারণ যোনা যেমন এক বিশাল মাছের পেটে তিন দিন ও তিনরাত ছিলেন, মনুষ্যপুত্রও তেমনই তিন দিন ও তিনরাত মাটির নিচে থাকবেন।
For, just as was Jonah in the belly of the sea-monster three days and three nights, so, will be the Son of Man, in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights.
41 বিচারের দিনে নীনবী নগরের লোকেরা এই প্রজন্মের লোকদের সঙ্গে উঠে দাঁড়াবে ও এদের অভিযুক্ত করবে; কারণ তারা যোনার প্রচারে মন পরিবর্তন করেছিল, আর এখন যোনার চেয়েও মহান একজন এখানে উপস্থিত আছেন।
Men of Nineveh, will rise up in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it, —because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah; and lo! something greater than Jonah, here.
42 বিচারের দিনে দক্ষিণ দেশের রানি এই প্রজন্মের লোকেদের সঙ্গে উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে তাদের অভিযুক্ত করবেন, কারণ শলোমনের প্রজ্ঞার বাণী শোনার জন্য তিনি পৃথিবীর সুদূর প্রান্ত থেকে এসেছিলেন। কিন্তু শলোমনের চেয়েও মহান একজন এখানে উপস্থিত আছেন।
The queen of the south, will arise in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it—because she came out of the ends of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo! something greater than Solomon, here.
43 “কোনো মানুষের ভিতর থেকে যখন কোনও দুষ্ট-আত্মা বের হয়ে যায় সে তখন বিশ্রামের খোঁজে শুষ্ক-ভূমিতে ঘুরে বেড়ায় কিন্তু তার সন্ধান পায় না।
But, when the impure spirit goeth out of the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, —and findeth it not.
44 তখন সে বলে, ‘আমি যে বাড়ি ছেড়ে এসেছি সেখানেই ফিরে যাব।’ যখন সে ফিরে আসে তখন সেই বাড়ি শূন্য, পরিচ্ছন্ন ও সুশৃঙ্খল দেখতে পায়।
Then, it saith, Into my house, will I return whence I came out, —and, coming, findeth it empty [and] swept and adorned.
45 তখন সে গিয়ে তার থেকেও দুষ্ট আরও সাতটি আত্মাকে নিজের সঙ্গে নিয়ে আসে, আর তারা ভিতরে প্রবেশ করে সেখানে বাস করতে থাকে। তখন সেই মানুষটির অন্তিমদশা আগের থেকে আরও বেশি শোচনীয় হয়ে পড়ে। এই দুষ্ট প্রজন্মের দশা সেরকমই হবে।”
Then, it goeth, and taketh along with itself, seven diverse spirits, more wicked than itself, —and, entering, abideth there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first. So, shall it be, with this, wicked, generation.
46 যীশু যখন লোকেদের সঙ্গে কথা বলছিলেন, তাঁর মা ও ভাইয়েরা তাঁর সঙ্গে কথা বলার জন্য বাইরে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন।
While yet he was speaking unto the multitudes, lo! his mother and brethren, were standing without, seeking to speak with him.
47 এক ব্যক্তি তাঁকে বলল, “আপনার মা ও ভাইয়েরা বাইরে দাঁড়িয়ে আছেন, আপনার সঙ্গে কথা বলতে চাইছেন।”
[And one said to him, Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, without, are standing, seeking, to speak, with thee.]
48 তিনি তাঁকে উত্তর দিলেন, “কে আমার মা আর কারাই বা আমার ভাই?”
But, he, answering, said unto him that was telling him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 তাঁর শিষ্যদের দিকে ইশারা করে তিনি বললেন, “এই যে আমার মা ও ভাইয়েরা।
And, stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said, Lo! my mother and my brethren!
50 কারণ যে কেউ আমার স্বর্গস্থ পিতার ইচ্ছা পালন করে, তারাই আমার ভাই, বোন ও মা।”
For, whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he, is my, brother, and sister, and mother.
