মথি 10
1 যীশু তাঁর বারোজন শিষ্যকে নিজের কাছে ডাকলেন। তিনি তাঁদের অশুচি আত্মা তাড়ানোর, সমস্ত রকম রোগ ও পীড়া ভালো করার ক্ষমতা দিলেন।
Then He called to Him His twelve disciples and gave them authority over foul spirits, to drive them out; and to cure every kind of disease and infirmity.
2 সেই বারোজন প্রেরিতের নাম হল: প্রথমে, শিমোন যাকে পিতর নামে ডাকা হত ও তার ভাই আন্দ্রিয়; সিবদিয়ের পুত্র যাকোব ও তার ভাই যোহন;
Now the names of the twelve Apostles were these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James the son of Zabdi, and his brother John;
3 ফিলিপ ও বর্থলময়; থোমা ও কর আদায়কারী মথি; আলফেয়ের পুত্র যাকোব ও থদ্দেয়;
Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax-gatherer, James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;
4 উদ্যোগী শিমোন ও যিহূদা ইষ্কারিয়োৎ, যে তার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করেছিল।
Simon the Cananaean, and Judas the Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.
5 যীশু বারোজনকে এসব আদেশ দিয়ে পাঠালেন: “তোমরা অইহুদিদের মধ্যে যেয়ো না বা শমরীয়দের কোনো নগরে প্রবেশ কোরো না।
These twelve Jesus sent on a mission, after giving them their instructions: "Go not," He said, "among the Gentiles, and enter no Samaritan town;
6 বরং তোমরা ইস্রায়েলের হারিয়ে যাওয়া মেষদের কাছে যাও।
but, instead of that, go to the lost sheep of Israel's race.
7 তোমরা যেতে যেতে এই বার্তা প্রচার কোরো: ‘স্বর্গরাজ্য সন্নিকট।’
And as you go, preach and say, 'The Kingdom of the Heavens is close at hand.'
8 তোমরা পীড়িতদের সুস্থ করো, মৃতদের উত্থাপন করো, যাদের কুষ্ঠরোগ আছে, তাদের শুচিশুদ্ধ করো, ভূতদের তাড়িও। তোমরা বিনামূল্যে পেয়েছ, সেইরূপ বিনামূল্যেই দান করো।
Cure the sick, raise the dead to life, cleanse lepers, drive out demons: you have received without payment, give without payment.
9 “তোমাদের কোমরের বেল্টে সোনা, বা রুপো, বা তামার মুদ্রা নিয়ো না;
"Provide no gold, nor even silver nor copper to carry in your pockets;
10 যাত্রার উদ্দেশ্যে কোনো থলি, বা অতিরিক্ত পোশাক, বা চটিজুতো বা কোনো ছড়ি নিয়ো না; কর্মচারী তার বেতন পাওয়ার যোগ্য।
no bag for your journey, nor change of linen, nor shoes, nor stick; for the labourer deserves his food.
11 আর তোমরা যে নগরে বা গ্রামে প্রবেশ করবে, সেখানকার কোনো উপযুক্ত লোকের সন্ধান করে সেই স্থান ত্যাগ না করা পর্যন্ত তার বাড়িতেই থেকো।
"Whatever town or village you enter, inquire for some good man; and make his house your home till you leave the place.
12 সেই বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করার সময়, তোমরা তাদের শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়ো।
When you enter the house, salute it;
13 যদি সেই বাড়ি যোগ্য হয়, তোমাদের শান্তি তার উপরে বিরাজ করুক; যদি যোগ্য না হয়, তাহলে তোমাদের শান্তি তোমাদেরই কাছে ফিরে আসুক।
and if the house deserves it, the peace you invoke shall come upon it. If not, your peace shall return to you.
14 কেউ যদি তোমাদের স্বাগত না জানায়, বা তোমাদের কথা না শোনে, সেই বাড়ি বা নগর ত্যাগ করার সময় তোমাদের পায়ের ধুলো ঝেড়ে ফেলো।
And whoever refuses to receive you or even to listen to your Message, as you leave that house or town, shake off the very dust from your feet.
15 আমি তোমাদের সত্যিই বলছি, বিচারদিনে সদোম ও ঘমোরার দশা, বরং সেই নগরের চেয়ে বেশি সহনীয় হবে।
I solemnly tell you that it will be more endurable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of Judgement than for that town.
16 “আমি নেকড়েদের মধ্যে তোমাদের মেষের মতো পাঠাচ্ছি। সেই কারণে, তোমরা সাপের মতো চতুর ও কপোতের মতো সরল হও।
"Remember it is I who am sending you out, as sheep into the midst of wolves; prove yourselves as sagacious as serpents, and as innocent as doves.
17 লোকেদের ব্যাপারে তোমরা সাবধান থেকো। তারা তোমাদের স্থানীয় বিচার-পরিষদের হাতে তুলে দেবে এবং তাদের সমাজভবনে তোমাদের চাবুক মারবে।
But beware of men; for they will deliver you up to appear before Sanhedrins, and will flog you in their synagogues;
18 আমারই কারণে প্রদেশপালদের ও রাজাদের কাছে এবং অইহুদিদের কাছে সাক্ষ্য দেওয়ার জন্য তোমাদের নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে।
and you will even be put on trial before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness to them and to the Gentiles.
19 কিন্তু, তারা যখন তোমাদের গ্রেপ্তার করবে, কী বলবে বা কীভাবে তা বলবে, সে বিষয়ে দুশ্চিন্তা কোরো না। সেই সময়ে, তোমরা কী বলবে, তা তোমাদের বলে দেওয়া হবে।
But when they have delivered you up, have no anxiety as to how you shall speak or what you shall say; for at that very time it shall be given you what to say;
20 কারণ তোমরা যে কথা বলবে, তা নয়, কিন্তু তোমাদের পিতার আত্মাই তোমাদের মাধ্যমে কথা বলবেন।
for it is not you who will speak: it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21 “ভাই ভাইকে ও পিতা সন্তানকে প্রতারিত করবে; ছেলেমেয়েরা বাবা-মার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী হয়ে তাদের মৃত্যুর উদ্দেশে সমর্পণ করবে।
Brother will betray brother to death, and father, child; and children will rise against their own parents and will put them to death.
22 আমার কারণে সব মানুষ তোমাদের ঘৃণা করবে, কিন্তু যে কেউ শেষ পর্যন্ত অবিচল থাকবে, সেই পরিত্রাণ পাবে।
And you will be objects of universal hatred because you are called by my name; but he who holds out to the End--he will be saved.
23 কোনো এক স্থানে তোমরা নির্যাতিত হলে অন্য স্থানে পালিয়ে যেয়ো। আমি তোমাদের সত্যিই বলছি, মনুষ্যপুত্রের আগমনের পূর্বে ইস্রায়েলের নগরগুলির পরিক্রমা তোমরা শেষ করতে পারবে না।
Whenever they persecute you in one town, escape to the next; for I solemnly tell you that you will not have gone the round of all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24 “কোনো শিষ্য তার গুরু থেকে বড়ো নয়, কোনো দাস তার মনিব থেকেও নয়।
"The learner is never superior to his teacher, and the servant is never superior to his master.
25 শিষ্য যদি গুরুর সদৃশ হয় এবং দাস তার মনিবের সদৃশ, তাহলেই যথেষ্ট। বাড়ির কর্তাকেই যদি বেলসবুল বলা হয়, তার পরিজনদের আরও কত নাকি বলা হবে।
Enough for the learner to be on a level with his teacher, and for the servant to be on a level with his master. If they have called the master of the house Baal-zebul, how much more will they slander his servants?
26 “সুতরাং, তোমরা তাদের ভয় পেয়ো না। এমন কিছুই লুকোনো নেই যা প্রকাশ পাবে না, বা এমন কিছুই গোপন নেই যা জানা যাবে না।
Fear them not, however; there is nothing veiled which will not be uncovered, nor secret which will not become known.
27 আমি তোমাদের অন্ধকারে যা কিছু বলি, দিনের আলোয় তোমরা তা বোলো; তোমাদের কানে কানে যা বলা হয়, তা ছাদের উপর থেকে ঘোষণা কোরো।
What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what is whispered into your ear, proclaim upon the roofs of the houses.
28 যারা কেবলমাত্র শরীর বধ করতে পারে, কিন্তু আত্মাকে বধ করতে পারে না, তাদের ভয় কোরো না। বরং, যিনি আত্মা ও শরীর, উভয়কেই নরকে ধ্বংস করতে পারেন, তোমরা তাঁকেই ভয় কোরো। (Geenna g1067)
"And do not fear those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
29 দুটি চড়ুইপাখি কি এক পয়সায় বিক্রি হয় না? তবুও, তোমাদের পিতার ইচ্ছা ব্যতিরেকে তাদের একটিও মাটিতে পড়ে না।
Do not two sparrows sell for a halfpenny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave.
30 এমনকি, তোমাদের মাথার চুলগুলিরও সংখ্যা গোনা আছে।
But as for you, the very hairs on your heads are all numbered.
31 তাই ভয় পেয়ো না কারণ চড়ুইপাখি থেকেও তোমরা অনেক বেশি মূল্যবান।
Away then with fear; you are more precious than a multitude of sparrows.
32 “যে কেউ মানুষের সাক্ষাতে আমাকে স্বীকার করে, আমিও স্বর্গে আমার পিতার কাছে তাকে স্বীকার করব।
"Every man who acknowledges me before men I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in Heaven.
33 কিন্তু কেউ যদি মানুষের সাক্ষাতে আমাকে অস্বীকার করে, আমিও স্বর্গে আমার পিতার কাছে তাকে অস্বীকার করব।
But whoever disowns me before men I also will disown before my Father who is in Heaven.
34 “মনে কোরো না যে আমি পৃথিবীতে শান্তি দিতে এসেছি। আমি শান্তি দিতে নয়, কিন্তু এক খড়্গ দিতে এসেছি।
"Do not suppose that I came to bring peace to the earth: I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
35 কারণ আমি এসেছি, “পুত্রকে তার পিতার বিরুদ্ধে বিচ্ছেদ করাতে ‘কন্যাকে তার মাতার বিরুদ্ধে, পুত্রবধূকে তার শাশুড়ির বিরুদ্ধে—
For I came to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
36 একজন মানুষের শত্রু তার নিজ পরিবারের সদস্যই হবে।’
and a man's own family will be his foes.
37 “যে তার বাবা অথবা মাকে আমার চেয়েও বেশি ভালোবাসে সে আমার যোগ্য নয়। যে তার ছেলে বা মেয়েকে আমার চেয়েও বেশি ভালোবাসে সে আমার যোগ্য নয়।
Any one who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and any one who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 আর যে আমার অনুগামী হতে চায় অথচ নিজের ক্রুশ বহন করে না, সে আমার যোগ্য নয়।
and any one who does not take up his cross and follow where I lead is not worthy of me.
39 যে তার প্রাণরক্ষা করতে চায় সে তা হারাবে এবং কেউ যদি আমার কারণে তার প্রাণ হারায় সে তা লাভ করবে।
To save your life is to lose it, and to lose your life for my sake is to save it.
40 “যে তোমাদের গ্রহণ করে সে আমাকেই গ্রহণ করে; যে আমাকে গ্রহণ করে সে তাঁকেই গ্রহণ করে যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।
"Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me.
41 কেউ যদি কোনো ভাববাদীকে ভাববাদী জেনে গ্রহণ করে, সে এক ভাববাদীরই পুরস্কার লাভ করবে। আবার যে এক ধার্মিক ব্যক্তিকে ধার্মিক ব্যক্তি বলে গ্রহণ করে, সেও ধার্মিকের পুরস্কার পাবে।
Every one who receives a prophet, because he is a prophet, will receive a prophet's reward, and every one who receives a righteous man, because he is a righteous man, will receive a righteous man's reward.
42 আবার এই ক্ষুদ্রজনেদের মধ্যে কোনো একজনকে কেউ যদি আমার শিষ্য জেনে এক পেয়ালা ঠান্ডা জল দেয়, আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি সে কোনোমতেই তার প্রাপ্য পুরস্কার থেকে বঞ্চিত হবে না।”
And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, I solemnly tell you that he will not lose his reward."
