1 অন্য এক সময়ে যীশু সমাজভবনে গেলেন। সেখানে এক লোক ছিল, যার একটি হাত শুকিয়ে গিয়েছিল।
And he entered again into a synagogue, and there-was there, a man having, his hand, withered;
2 কয়েকজন ফরিশী যীশুকে অভিযুক্ত করার সুযোগ খুঁজে বেড়াচ্ছিল। যীশু বিশ্রামদিনে লোকটিকে সুস্থ করেন কি না, দেখার জন্য তারা তাঁর উপর সতর্ক দৃষ্টি রাখল।
and they were narrowly watching him, whether, on the Sabbath, he would cure him, that they might accuse him.
3 যার হাত শুকিয়ে গিয়েছিল, তাকে যীশু বললেন, “তুমি সবার সামনে এসে দাঁড়াও।”
And he saith unto the man who hath his hand withered, Arise into the midst!
4 এরপর যীশু তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “বিশ্রামদিনে কী করা ন্যায়সংগত, ভালো কাজ করা, না মন্দ কাজ করা; জীবন রক্ষা করা, না হত্যা করা?” কিন্তু তারা নীরব হয়ে রইল।
and saith unto them—Is it allowed, on the Sabbath, to do good, or to do evil? To, save, life, or, to slay? but they remained silent.
5 যীশু ক্রুদ্ধ দৃষ্টিতে তাদের সকলের দিকে তাকালেন এবং তাদের হৃদয়ের তীব্র কাঠিন্যের জন্য তিনি গভীর বেদনায় লোকটিকে বললেন, “তোমার হাত বাড়িয়ে দাও।” লোকটি হাত বাড়িয়ে দিল, সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তার হাত আগের মতো সম্পূর্ণ সুস্থ হয়ে গেল।
And, looking round upon them with anger, being at the same time grieved on account of the hardening of their heart, he saith unto the man—Stretch forth thy hand! and he stretched it forth, and his hand, was restored.
6 এরপর ফরিশীরা বেরিয়ে গেল এবং হেরোদীয় সম্প্রদায়ের সঙ্গে ষড়যন্ত্র করতে শুরু করল যে, কীভাবে যীশুকে হত্যা করা যায়।
And, the Pharisees, going out straightway with the Herodians, were giving counsel against him, that they should, destroy, him.
7 যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের নিয়ে গালীল সাগরের দিকে চলে গেলেন। গালীল থেকে অনেক লোক তাঁকে সেখানে অনুসরণ করল।
And, Jesus, with his disciples, retired unto the sea; and, a great throng from Galilee, followed, also from Judaea,
8 তারা যখন যীশুর সমস্ত কীর্তির কথা শুনল, তখন যিহূদিয়া, জেরুশালেম, ইদুমিয়া, জর্ডনের অপর পারের অঞ্চল এমনকি টায়ার ও সীদোনের চারদিক থেকে অসংখ্য মানুষ তাঁর কাছে এসে জড়ো হল।
and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Zidon, a great throng, hearing whatsoever things he was doing, came unto him.
9 এই বিপুল সংখ্যক লোক দেখে যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের বললেন, তাঁর জন্য একটি ছোটো নৌকা প্রস্তুত রাখতে, যেন এত ভিড়ের চাপ তাঁর উপরে এসে না পড়ে।
And he spake unto his disciples that a little boat might attend him, because of the multitude, —that they might not be pressing upon him.
10 যেহেতু যীশু এর আগে বহু লোককে সুস্থ করেছিলেন, তাই অসংখ্য রোগী তাঁকে একবার স্পর্শ করার জন্য ঠেলাঠেলি করে সামনে এগোতে চাইছিল।
For he cured many, so that they were besieging him, that they might touch him—as many as had plagues;
11 তাদের মধ্যে মন্দ-আত্মাগ্রস্ত ব্যক্তিরা তাঁকে দেখে তাঁর সামনে লুটিয়ে পড়ে চিৎকার করে বলছিল, “আপনিই সেই ঈশ্বরের পুত্র।”
and the impure spirits, as soon as they beheld him, were falling down to him, and crying aloud, while he was speaking, Thou, art the Son of God!
12 যীশু কিন্তু তাদের কঠোর নির্দেশ দিলেন, তারা যেন কাউকে না বলে যে, আসলে তিনি কে।
and sternly was he rebuking them, lest they should make him manifest.
13 পরে যীশু এক পাহাড়ে উঠলেন ও তিনি যাদের ইচ্ছা করলেন তাঁদের কাছে আহ্বান করলেন, এবং তারা তাঁর কাছে এগিয়ে এলেন।
And he goeth up into the mountain and calleth near whom, he, pleased, —and they went away unto him;
14 তিনি বারোজন শিষ্যকে নিয়োগ করলেন ও তাঁদের “প্রেরিতশিষ্য” বলে ডাকলেন যেন তাঁরা তাঁর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে থাকেন ও তিনি যেন তাঁদের প্রচারের কাজে চারদিকে পাঠাতে পারেন
and he appointed a twelve, whom also he named, Apostles, —that they might be with him, and that he might be sending them forth to make proclamation,
15 এবং তাঁরা যেন ভূত তাড়ানোর ক্ষমতাপ্রাপ্ত হন।
and to have authority to cast out the demons;
16 যে বারোজনকে তিনি প্রেরিতশিষ্য পদে নিয়োগ করলেন, তাঁরা হলেন: শিমোন (যাঁকে তিনি নাম দিয়েছিলেন পিতর),
and he appointed the twelve (and imposed a name on Simon—) Peter,
17 সিবদিয়ের পুত্র যাকোব ও তাঁর ভাই যোহন (তিনি যাঁদের নাম দিয়েছিলেন বোনেরগশ, এর অর্থ, বজ্রতনয়);
and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (and imposed on them a name—Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder);
18 আন্দ্রিয়, ফিলিপ, বর্থলময়, মথি, থোমা, আলফেয়ের পুত্র যাকোব, থদ্দেয়, জিলট দলভুক্ত শিমোন,
and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the zealot;
19 এবং যিহূদা ইষ্কারিয়োৎ, যে যীশুর সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করেছিল।
and Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up. And he cometh into a house;
20 এরপর যীশু এক বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করলেন, কিন্তু সেখানেও আবার এত লোক ভিড় জমালো যে, তিনি ও তাঁর শিষ্যেরা খাওয়াদাওয়া করার সময়ই পেলেন না।
and the multitude come together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
21 এসব ঘটনার কথা শুনে যীশুর আত্মীয়পরিজনেরা বলল, “ওর বুদ্ধিভ্রম হয়েছে।” এই বলে তারা তাঁকে ধরে আনতে গেল।
And they who were near to him, hearing of it, went out to secure him, —for they were saying—He is beside himself!
22 আর জেরুশালেম থেকে যেসব শাস্ত্রবিদ এসেছিল, তারা বলল, “ওর উপর বেলসবুল ভর করেছে। ভূতদের অধিপতির সাহায্যেই ও ভূতদের দূর করছে।”
And, the Scribes who from Jerusalem had come down, were saying—He hath, Beelzebul; and—In the ruler of the demons, casteth he out the demons.
23 যীশু তখন তাদের ডাকলেন ও রূপকের আশ্রয়ে তাদের বললেন, “শয়তান কীভাবে শয়তানকে দূর করতে পারে?
And, calling them near, in parables, began he to say unto them—How can, Satan, cast, Satan out?
24 কোনো রাজ্য যদি নিজের বিপক্ষে বিভক্ত হয়, তাহলে সেই রাজ্য টিকে থাকতে পারে না।
And, if a kingdom against itself be divided, that kingdom cannot be made to stand;
25 আবার একটি পরিবার যদি নিজেরই বিরোধিতা করে, তাহলে সেই পরিবারও টিকে থাকতে পারে না।
And, if a house against itself be divided, the house shall be unable to stand;
26 এভাবে শয়তান যদি নিজেরই বিরুদ্ধে যায় ও বিভক্ত হয়, তাহলে সেও আর টিকে থাকতে পারে না। অর্থাৎ তার সমাপ্তি সন্নিকট।
And, if, Satan, hath risen up against himself, and become divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
27 বস্তুত, শক্তিশালী ব্যক্তির ধনসম্পত্তি লুট করতে হলে, প্রথমেই তাকে বেঁধে ফেলতে হয়, তা না হলে তার ঘরে ঢুকে তার সম্পত্তি লুট করা অসম্ভব।
But, no one is able into the house of the mighty one to enter, and, his spoils, to carry off, unless, first the mighty one, he bind, and, then his house, will he plunder!
28 আমি তোমাদের সত্যিই বলছি, মানুষের সব পাপ ও ঈশ্বরনিন্দা ক্ষমা করা হবে,
Verily, I say unto you—All things shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, —the sins and the profanities wherewithal they shall profane;
30 তাঁর একথা বলার কারণ হল, শাস্ত্রবিদরা বলেছিল, “ওর মধ্যে মন্দ-আত্মা ভর করেছে।”
because they were saying—An impure spirit, he hath!
31 তখন যীশুর মা ও ভাইয়েরা সেখানে এসে পৌঁছালেন। তাঁরা ঘরের বাইরে দাঁড়িয়ে যীশুকে ডেকে আনার জন্য একজনকে ভিতরে পাঠালেন।
And there come his mother and his brethren, and, standing, outside, they sent unto him, calling him.
32 সেই সময় যীশুর চারপাশে বহু মানুষ ভিড় করে বসেছিল। তারা তাঁকে বলল, “আপনার মা ও ভাইয়েরা বাইরে দাঁড়িয়ে আছেন এবং আপনার খোঁজ করছেন।”
And there was sitting around him a multitude, and they say unto him—Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, outside, are seeking thee!
33 তিনি প্রশ্ন করলেন, “কে আমার মা? আর আমার ভাইয়েরাই বা কারা?”
And, answering them, he saith—Who are my mother and my brethren?
34 তারপর, যারা তাঁর চারপাশে গোল করে বসেছিল, তাদের দিকে তাকিয়ে তিনি বললেন, “এরাই হল আমার মা ও ভাইয়েরা!
And, looking around on them who, about him, in a circle, were sitting, he saith, See! my mother and my brethren!
35 কারণ যে কেউ ঈশ্বরের ইচ্ছা পালন করে, সেই আমার ভাই ও বোন এবং মা।”
Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same, is my brother and sister and mother.
