মার্ক 13
1 তিনি যখন মন্দির ছেড়ে যাচ্ছেন, তাঁর শিষ্যদের মধ্যে একজন তাঁকে বললেন, “গুরুমহাশয়, দেখুন! পাথরগুলি কেমন বিশাল! কেমন অপরূপ সব ভবন!”
And as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples says to him, Teacher, see what stones and what buildings!
2 উত্তরে যীশু বললেন, “তোমরা কি বিশাল এসব ভবন দেখছ? এদের একটি পাথরও অন্যটির উপরে থাকবে না, সবকটিকেই ভূমিসাৎ করা হবে।”
And Jesus answering said to him, Seest thou these great buildings? not a stone shall be left upon a stone, which shall not be thrown down.
3 মন্দিরের বিপরীত দিকে যীশু যখন জলপাই পর্বতে বসেছিলেন, পিতর, যাকোব, যোহন ও আন্দ্রিয় তাঁকে একান্তে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন,
And as he sat on the mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 “কখন এই সমস্ত ঘটনা ঘটবে, আমাদের বলুন। আর এগুলি পূর্ণ হওয়ার চিহ্নই বা কী হবে?”
Tell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?
5 যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, “সতর্ক থেকো, কেউ যেন তোমাদের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা না করে।
And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any one mislead you.
6 অনেকে এসে আমার নামে দাবি করবে, ‘আমিই সেই,’ আর এভাবে বহু মানুষকে ঠকাবে।
For many shall come in my name, saying, It is I, and shall mislead many.
7 তোমরা যখন যুদ্ধের কথা ও যুদ্ধের সব জনরব শুনবে, তখন আতঙ্কগ্রস্ত হোয়ো না। এ সমস্ত বিষয় অবশ্যই ঘটবে, কিন্তু তখনও অন্তিমলগ্ন উপস্থিত হয়নি।
But when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be not disturbed, for [this] must happen, but the end is not yet.
8 এক জাতি অন্য জাতির বিপক্ষে, এক রাজ্য অন্য রাজ্যের বিপক্ষে অভিযান করবে। বিভিন্ন স্থানে ভূমিকম্প হবে ও দুর্ভিক্ষ দেখা দেবে। কিন্তু এসব প্রসব যন্ত্রণার সূচনা মাত্র।
For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in [different] places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these things [are the] beginnings of throes.
9 “তোমরা অবশ্যই নিজেদের সম্পর্কে সতর্ক থাকবে। তোমাদেরকে স্থানীয় কর্তৃপক্ষের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হবে ও সমাজভবনগুলিতে চাবুক মারা হবে। আমার কারণে তোমাদের বিভিন্ন প্রদেশপাল ও রাজাদের কাছে দাঁড়াতে হবে, তাদের কাছে তোমরা আমার সাক্ষীস্বরূপ হবে।
But ye, take heed to yourselves, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrims and to synagogues: ye shall be beaten and brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them;
10 আর প্রথমে সমস্ত জাতির কাছে সুসমাচার প্রচারিত হবে।
and the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
11 যখনই তোমাদের গ্রেপ্তার করে বিচারের জন্য নিয়ে আসা হবে, কী বলবে, তা নিয়ে আগে থেকেই দুশ্চিন্তাগ্রস্ত হোয়ো না। সেই সময়ে তোমাদের যা দেওয়া হবে, কেবলমাত্র তাই বোলো, কারণ তোমরা যে কথা বলবে, এমন নয়, কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মাই বলবেন।
But when they shall lead you away to deliver you up, be not careful beforehand as to what ye shall say, [nor prepare your discourse]: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak; for ye are not the speakers, but the Holy Spirit.
12 “ভাই ভাইকে ও পিতা সন্তানকে প্রতারিত করবে; ছেলেমেয়েরা বাবা-মার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী হয়ে তাদের মৃত্যুর উদ্দেশে সমর্পণ করবে।
But brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
13 আমার কারণে সব মানুষ তোমাদের ঘৃণা করবে, কিন্তু যে কেউ শেষ পর্যন্ত অবিচল থাকবে, সেই পরিত্রাণ পাবে।
And ye will be hated of all on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end, he shall be saved.
14 “যখন তোমরা দেখবে, ‘ধ্বংসের কারণস্বরূপ সেই ঘৃণ্য বস্তু’ যেখানে তার দাঁড়াবার অধিকার নেই, সেখানেই দাঁড়িয়ে আছে, তখন যারা যিহূদিয়ায় থাকে, তারা পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে পালিয়ে যাক।
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not, (he that reads let him consider [it], ) then let those in Judaea flee to the mountains;
15 তখন ছাদের উপরে যে থাকবে, সে যেন কোনো জিনিসপত্র নেওয়ার জন্য নিচে নেমে না আসে, বা ঘরে প্রবেশ না করে।
and him that is upon the housetop not come down into the house, nor enter [into it] to take away anything out of his house;
16 মাঠে যে থাকবে, সে যেন জামাকাপড় নেওয়ার জন্য ঘরে ফিরে না যায়।
and him that is in the field not return back to take his garment.
17 সেই সময় গর্ভবতী নারীদের ও স্তন্যদাত্রী মায়েদের কতই না ভয়ংকর কষ্ট হবে!
But woe to those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days!
18 প্রার্থনা কোরো, যেন এই ঘটনা শীতকালে না ঘটে।
And pray that it may not be in winter time;
19 কারণ সেইসব দিনের দুঃসহ যন্ত্রণার কোনও তুলনা হবে না, ঈশ্বরের জগৎ সৃষ্টির সময় থেকে সেরকম কখনও হয়নি, বা আর কখনও হবেও না।
for those days shall be distress such as there has not been the like since [the] beginning of creation which God created, until now, and never shall be;
20 “প্রভু যদি সেই সমস্ত দিনের সংখ্যা কমিয়ে না দিতেন, তাহলে কোনো মানুষই রক্ষা পেত না। কিন্তু যাদের তিনি মনোনীত করেছেন ও বেছে নিয়েছেন, তাঁদের জন্য তিনি সেইসব দিনের সংখ্যা কমিয়ে দিয়েছেন।
and if [the] Lord had not cut short those days, no flesh should have been saved; but on account of the elect whom he has chosen, he has cut short those days.
21 সেই সময় কেউ যদি তোমাদের বলে, ‘দেখো, খ্রীষ্ট এখানে,’ বা ‘দেখো, তিনি ওখানে,’ সেকথা তোমরা বিশ্বাস কোরো না।
And then if any one say to you, Lo, here [is] the Christ, or Lo, there, believe [it] not.
22 কারণ ভণ্ড খ্রীষ্টেরা ও ভণ্ড ভাববাদীরা উপস্থিত হয়ে বহু চিহ্ন ও অলৌকিক কাজ করে দেখাবে, যেন সম্ভব হলে মনোনীতদেরও প্রতারিত করতে পারে।
For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and give signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
23 তাই, সতর্ক থেকো, সময়ের আগেই আমি তোমাদের সবকিছু জানালাম।
But do ye take heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
24 “কিন্তু সেই সমস্ত দিনে, সেই বিপর্যয়ের শেষে, “‘সূর্য অন্ধকারে ঢেকে যাবে, চাঁদ তার আলো দেবে না;
But in those days, after that distress, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give its light;
25 আকাশ থেকে নক্ষত্রসমূহের পতন হবে, আর জ্যোতিষ্কমণ্ডলী প্রকম্পিত হবে।’
and the stars of heaven shall be falling down, and the powers which are in the heavens shall be shaken;
26 “সেই সময়ে লোকেরা মনুষ্যপুত্রকে মহাপরাক্রমে ও মহিমায় মেঘে করে আসতে দেখবে।
and then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory;
27 তিনি তাঁর দূতদের পাঠাবেন এবং তাঁরা আকাশের এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত চারদিক থেকে তাঁর মনোনীতদের সংগ্রহ করবেন।
and then shall he send his angels and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from end of earth to end of heaven.
28 “এখন ডুমুর গাছ থেকে এই শিক্ষাগ্রহণ করো: যখনই এর শাখায় কোমল পল্লব ও পাতা বের হয়ে আসে, তোমরা বুঝতে পারো যে, গ্রীষ্মকাল কাছে এসেছে।
But learn the parable from the fig-tree: when its branch already becomes tender and puts forth the leaves, ye know that the summer is near.
29 সেভাবে, তোমরা যখন এসব বিষয় ঘটতে দেখবে, তোমরা জানবে যে, সময় হয়ে এসেছে, এমনকি, তিনি দুয়ারে উপস্থিত হয়েছেন।
Thus also ye, when ye see these things happening, know that it is near, at the doors.
30 আমি তোমাদের সত্যিই বলছি, এই সমস্ত ঘটনা না ঘটা পর্যন্ত বর্তমান প্রজন্ম লুপ্ত হবে না।
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall in no wise pass away, till all these things take place.
31 আকাশ ও পৃথিবী লুপ্ত হবে, কিন্তু আমার বাক্য কখনও লুপ্ত হবে না।
The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.
32 “কিন্তু সেই দিন বা ক্ষণের কথা কেউই জানে না, এমনকি স্বর্গদূতেরা বা পুত্রও জানেন না, কেবলমাত্র পিতা জানেন।
But of that day or of that hour no one knows, neither the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.
33 সতর্ক হও! তোমরা সজাগ থেকো! কারণ তোমরা জানো না সেই সময় কখন আসবে।
Take heed, watch and pray, for ye do not know when the time is:
34 এ যেন কোনো ব্যক্তি বাড়ি ছেড়ে যাচ্ছেন; তিনি তাঁর বাড়ি ত্যাগ করে তাঁর দাসদের উপরে সমস্ত দায়িত্ব দিলেন। তিনি প্রত্যেককে তার নির্দিষ্ট কাজ দিলেন এবং দ্বাররক্ষীকে সতর্ক পাহারা দিতে বললেন।
[it is] as a man gone out of the country, having left his house and given to his bondmen the authority, and to each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.
35 “সেই কারণে, সজাগ থেকো, কারণ তোমরা জানো না, বাড়ির কর্তা কখন ফিরে আসবেন—সন্ধ্যায়, না মধ্যরাত্রে, মোরগ ডাকার সময়, নাকি সকালবেলায়।
Watch therefore, for ye do not know when the master of the house comes: evening, or midnight, or cock-crow, or morning;
36 তিনি যদি হঠাৎ এসে উপস্থিত হন, তোমাদের যেন ঘুমিয়ে থাকা অবস্থায় দেখতে না পান।
lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 আমি তোমাদের যা কিছু বলি, তা সবাইকেই বলি: ‘তোমরা সজাগ থেকো।’”
But what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.
