লুক 4
1 যীশু পবিত্র আত্মায় পরিপূর্ণ হয়ে জর্ডন নদী থেকে ফিরে এলেন এবং পবিত্র আত্মার দ্বারা চালিত হয়ে মরুপ্রান্তরে গেলেন।
Then Jesus, full of Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 সেখানে চল্লিশ দিন দিয়াবলের দ্বারা প্রলোভিত হলেন। এই সমস্ত দিন তিনি কিছুই আহার করেননি। সেইসব দিন শেষ হলে তিনি ক্ষুধার্ত হলেন।
where He was tested for forty days by the devil. He ate nothing at all during those days, so after they were completed He was hungry.
3 দিয়াবল তাঁকে বলল, “যদি তুমি ঈশ্বরের পুত্রই হও, তবে পাথরগুলিকে রুটিতে পরিণত হতে বলো।”
So the devil said to Him, “Since you are Son of God, tell this stone to become bread!”
4 যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, “এরকম লেখা আছে: ‘মানুষ কেবলমাত্র রুটিতে বাঁচে না।’”
Jesus answered him saying, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”
5 তখন দিয়াবল তাঁকে নিয়ে গেল এক উচ্চ স্থানে; এক লহমায় সে তাঁকে বিশ্বের সমস্ত রাজ্য দর্শন করাল।
And taking Him up on a high mountain, the devil showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 আর সে তাঁকে বলল, “এসবই আমাকে দেওয়া হয়েছে; আমি যাকে চাই, তাকে এগুলি দিতে পারি। এসব অধিকার ও সমারোহ, আমি তোমাকে দিতে চাই।
The devil said to Him: “To you I will give all this authority, and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I want to.
7 তাই, যদি তুমি আমার উপাসনা করো, তাহলে তুমিই এ সবকিছুর অধিকারী হবে।”
So you, if you would worship before me, all will be yours.”
8 যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, “এরকম লেখা আছে, ‘তুমি তোমার ঈশ্বর প্রভুরই আরাধনা করবে, কেবলমাত্র তাঁরই সেবা করবে।’”
In answer Jesus said to him: “Get behind me, Satan! It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve!’”
9 দিয়াবল তাঁকে জেরুশালেমে নিয়ে গিয়ে মন্দিরের শীর্ষদেশে তাঁকে দাঁড় করালো। সে বলল, “তুমি যদি ঈশ্বরের পুত্র হও, তবে এখান থেকে নিচে ঝাঁপ দাও।
He also took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him: “Since you are Son of God, throw yourself down from here;
10 কারণ এরকম লেখা আছে: “‘তিনি তাঁর দূতদের তোমার বিষয়ে আদেশ দেবেন, যেন তাঁরা যত্নসহকারে তোমাকে রক্ষা করেন,
because it is written, ‘He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you,’
11 তাঁরা তোমাকে তাঁদের হাতে তুলে নেবেন, যেন তোমার পায়ে পাথরের আঘাত না লাগে।’”
and, ‘They will carry you along on their hands, so you do not stub your foot on a stone.’”
12 যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, “একথাও লেখা আছে, ‘তোমার ঈশ্বর প্রভুকে পরীক্ষা কোরো না।’”
In answer Jesus said to him: “The statement stands, ‘You shall not test the Lord your God!’”
13 প্রলোভনের সমস্ত কৌশল ব্যর্থ হলে দিয়াবল কিছুকালের জন্য যীশুকে ছেড়ে চলে গেল, এবং পরবর্তী সুযোগের অপেক্ষায় রইল।
Having finished every test, the devil departed from Him until an opportune time.
14 পরে আত্মার পরাক্রমে যীশু গালীলে প্রত্যাবর্তন করলেন। সমস্ত গ্রামাঞ্চলে তাঁর কথা ছড়িয়ে পড়ল।
Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about Him spread throughout the whole surrounding area;
15 তিনি তাদের সমাজভবনগুলিতে শিক্ষা দিলেন এবং সবাই তাঁর প্রশংসা করল।
yes, He started teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 আর তিনি যেখানে বড়ো হয়েছিলেন, সেই নাসরতে উপস্থিত হলেন। তাঁর রীতি অনুসারে তিনি বিশ্রামদিনে সমাজভবনে গেলেন এবং শাস্ত্র থেকে পাঠ করার জন্য উঠে দাঁড়ালেন।
So He came to Natsareth, where He had been brought up; as was His custom He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 ভাববাদী যিশাইয়ের পুঁথি তাঁর হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হল। পুঁথিটি খুলে তিনি সেই অংশটি দেখতে পেলেন, যেখানে লেখা আছে,
The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him, so unrolling the scroll He found the place where it was written:
18 “প্রভুর আত্মা আমার উপর অধিষ্ঠিত, কারণ দীনহীনদের কাছে সুসমাচার প্রচারের জন্য তিনি আমাকে অভিষিক্ত করেছেন। তিনি আমাকে বন্দিদের কাছে মুক্তি প্রচার করবার জন্য পাঠালেন, অন্ধদের কাছে দৃষ্টিপ্রাপ্তি প্রচার করার জন্য, নিপীড়িতদের নিস্তার করে বিদায় করার জন্য,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to evangelize poor people. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to captives and recovery of sight to blind people, to send those who are oppressed out in freedom,
19 প্রভুর প্রসন্নতার বছর ঘোষণা করার জন্য।”
to proclaim the Lord's favorable year.”
20 তারপর তিনি পুঁথিটি গুটিয়ে পরিচারকের হাতে ফেরত দিয়ে আসন গ্রহণ করলেন। সমাজভবনে সকলের দৃষ্টি তাঁর উপরে নিবদ্ধ হল।
Then, having rolled up the scroll and returned it to the attendant, He sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on Him,
21 তিনি তাদের প্রতি এই কথা বললেন, “যে শাস্ত্রীয় বাণী তোমরা শুনলে আজ তা পূর্ণ হল।”
and He began by saying to them, “Today, this Scripture in your ears has been fulfilled.”
22 সকলেই তাঁর প্রশংসা করল। তাঁর মুখ থেকে বেরোনো অমৃতবাণী শুনে তারা চমৎকৃত হল। তারা প্রশ্ন করল, “এ কি যোষেফের পুত্র নয়?”
(All were bearing witness to Him and were marveling at the gracious words that were coming out of His mouth; and they started saying, “Isn't this the son of Joseph?”)
23 যীশু তাদের বললেন, “আমি নিশ্চিত যে, তোমরা আমাকে এই প্রবাদ উল্লেখ করে বলবে, ‘চিকিৎসক, তুমি নিজেকে সুস্থ করো। কফরনাহূমে যে কাজ তুমি করেছ বলে শুনেছি, এখন তোমার নিজের নগরে তা করে দেখাও।’”
He said to them: “Doubtless you will quote this parable to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’—do here in your hometown the things we have heard were done in Capernaum.”
24 তিনি আরও বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, কোনো ভাববাদীই স্বদেশে স্বীকৃতি পান না।
Then He said: “Assuredly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.
25 আমি তোমাদের নিশ্চিতরূপে বলছি, এলিয়ের সময়ে ইস্রায়েলে বহু বিধবা ছিল। সেই সময় সাড়ে তিন বছর ধরে আকাশ থেকে বৃষ্টি হয়নি। ফলে সারা দেশে ভয়াবহ দুর্ভিক্ষ দেখা দিয়েছিল।
Further, I can assure you that there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three years and six months and a severe famine came over all the land;
26 তবুও এলিয় তাদের কারও কাছে প্রেরিত হননি, কিন্তু সীদোন অঞ্চলে সারিফত-নিবাসী এক বিধবার কাছে প্রেরিত হয়েছিলেন।
yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow woman in Sarepta, near Sidon.
27 আর ভাববাদী ইলীশায়ের কালে ইস্রায়েলে বহু কুষ্ঠরোগী ছিল, তবুও সিরিয়া-নিবাসী নামান ছাড়া একজনও শুচিশুদ্ধ হয়নি।”
And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet not one of them was cleansed—just Naaman the Syrian.”
28 একথা শুনে সমাজভবনের লোকেরা ক্রুদ্ধ হয়ে উঠল।
Well, upon hearing these things everyone in the synagogue was filled with fury,
29 তারা উঠে এসে তাঁকে নগরের বাইরে তাড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেল। যে পাহাড়ের উপরে নগরটি স্থাপিত ছিল, তারা তাঁকে সেই পাহাড়ের কিনারায় নিয়ে গিয়ে সেখান থেকে নিচে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিতে চাইল।
and rising up they drove Him out of the town and took Him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw Him off the cliff.
30 কিন্তু তিনি সকলের মধ্য দিয়ে নিজের পথ করে সোজা হেঁটে চলে গেলেন।
But He, passing through the middle of them, went on His way.
31 তারপর তিনি গালীল প্রদেশের একটি নগর কফরনাহূমে ফিরে গেলেন। বিশ্রামদিনে তিনি লোকসকলকে শিক্ষা দিতে লাগলেন।
Then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee; He started teaching them on the Sabbaths.
32 তাঁর শিক্ষা শুনে সকলে চমৎকৃত হল, কারণ তিনি ক্ষমতার সঙ্গে বাক্য প্রচার করতেন।
They kept on being amazed at His teaching, because His word was with authority.
33 সেই সমাজভবনে ছিল একটি ভূতগ্রস্ত, অশুচি আত্মাবিষ্ট লোক।
Now in the synagogue was a man having a spirit of an unclean demon; he cried out with a loud voice
34 সে উচ্চকণ্ঠে চিৎকার করে বলল, “আহা, নাসরতের যীশু, আপনি আমাদের নিয়ে কী করতে চান? আপনি কি আমাদের বিনাশ করতে এসেছেন? আমি জানি, আপনি কে, আপনি ঈশ্বরের সেই পবিত্র ব্যক্তি!”
saying: “Ugh! What do you want with us, Jesus of Natsareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God!”
35 যীশু কঠোর স্বরে তাকে বললেন, “চুপ করো! ওর ভিতর থেকে বেরিয়ে এসো!” তখন সেই ভূত সেই লোকটির কোনও ক্ষতি না করে, সকলের সামনে তাকে আছড়ে ফেলে দিয়ে বেরিয়ে এল।
So Jesus rebuked him saying, “Be muzzled, and get out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in the midst, it came out of him without harming him.
36 লোকেরা চমৎকৃত হয়ে পরস্পর বলাবলি করল, “এ কেমন শিক্ষা! কর্তৃত্ব ও পরাক্রমের সঙ্গে ইনি মন্দ-আত্মাদের আদেশ দেন, আর তারা বেরিয়ে আসে!”
Everyone was taken with amazement and they started conversing together, saying: “What is this word! For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
37 তখন সেই অঞ্চলের চারদিকে তাঁর কথা ছড়িয়ে পড়ল।
And the news about Him started going out to every place of the surrounding region.
38 সমাজভবন ত্যাগ করে যীশু শিমোনের বাড়িতে গেলেন। শিমোনের শাশুড়ি তখন প্রচণ্ড জ্বরে ভুগছিলেন। তাঁর নিরাময়ের জন্য তাঁরা যীশুর কাছে অনুনয় করলেন।
Then He left the synagogue and entered Simon's house. But Simon's mother-in-law was suffering with a high fever, and they requested Him on her behalf.
39 যীশু তাই তাঁর উপরে ঝুঁকে পড়ে জ্বরকে ধমক দিলেন, এবং তাঁর জ্বর ছেড়ে গেল। তিনি তখনই উঠে তাঁদের পরিচর্যা করতে লাগলেন।
So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and began to serve them.
40 পরে সূর্য যখন অস্ত গেল, লোকেরা যীশুর কাছে বিভিন্ন রোগে আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তিদের নিয়ে এল। তিনি তাদের প্রত্যেকের উপরে হাত রেখে আরোগ্য দান করলেন।
Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on each one of them and healed them.
41 এছাড়াও বহু জনের মধ্য থেকে দুষ্টাত্মারা বেরিয়ে এসে চিৎকার করতে লাগল, “আপনিই সেই ঈশ্বরের পুত্র!” কিন্তু তিনি তাদের ধমক দিলেন, তাদের কথা বলার অনুমতি দিলেন না, কারণ তিনি যে মশীহ, তা তারা জানত।
Moreover, demons came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” But rebuking them He would not allow them to continue speaking, because they knew that He was the Messiah.
42 প্রত্যুষে যীশু এক নির্জন স্থানে গেলেন। লোকেরা তাঁর সন্ধান করছিল। তিনি যেখানে ছিলেন, তারা সেখানে এসে উপস্থিত হল। তারা তাঁকে নিরস্ত করতে চেষ্টা করল, যেন তিনি তাদের ছেড়ে না যান।
Now at daybreak He departed and went to a deserted place; so the crowds started looking for Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them.
43 কিন্তু তিনি বললেন, “আমাকে অন্যান্য নগরেও ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের সুসমাচার প্রচার করতে হবে, কারণ এই জন্যই আমি প্রেরিত হয়েছি।”
But He said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other towns also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”
44 আর তিনি যিহূদিয়ার সমাজভবনগুলিতে প্রচার করতে লাগলেন।
So He went preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
