1 সপ্তাহের প্রথম দিনে খুব ভোরবেলায়, সেই মহিলারা তাঁদের প্রস্তুত করা মশলা নিয়ে সমাধিস্থানে গেলেন।
But on the first day of the week, at dawn, they came to the place where his body had been put, taking the spices which they had got ready.
2 তাঁরা দেখলেন, সমাধির মুখ থেকে পাথরখানি সরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
And they saw that the stone had been rolled away.
3 কিন্তু ভিতরে প্রবেশ করে তাঁরা প্রভু যীশুর দেহটি দেখতে পেলেন না।
And they went in, but the body of the Lord Jesus was not there.
4 তাঁরা এ বিষয়ে যখন অবাক বিস্ময়ে ভাবছিলেন, তখন বিদ্যুতের মতো উজ্জ্বল পোশাক পরা দুজন পুরুষ হঠাৎ তাঁদের পাশে এসে দাঁড়ালেন।
And while they were in doubt about it, they saw two men in shining clothing by them:
5 আতঙ্কে মহিলারা মাটির দিকে মাথা নিচু করে দাঁড়িয়ে রইলেন। কিন্তু পুরুষ দুজন তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা মৃতদের মধ্যে জীবিতের সন্ধান করছ কেন?
And while their faces were bent down to the earth in fear, these said to them, Why are you looking for the living among the dead?
6 তিনি এখানে নেই, কিন্তু উত্থাপিত হয়েছেন। তোমাদের সঙ্গে গালীলে থাকার সময়ে তিনি কী বলেছিলেন, মনে করে দেখো।
He is not here, he has come back to life: have in mind what he said to you when he was still in Galilee, saying,
7 তিনি বলেছিলেন, ‘মনুষ্যপুত্রকে পাপী মানুষদের হাতে অবশ্যই সমর্পিত হতে হবে, তাঁকে ক্রুশবিদ্ধ ও তৃতীয় দিনে পুনরুত্থিত হতে হবে।’”
The Son of man will be given up into the hands of evil-doers, and be put to death on the cross, and on the third day he will come back to life.
8 তখন তাঁর কথাগুলি তাঁদের মনে পড়ে গেল।
And his words came back into their minds,
9 সমাধিস্থান থেকে ফিরে এসে তাঁরা এ সমস্ত বিষয় সেই এগারোজন ও অন্য সবাইকে বললেন।
And they went away from that place and gave an account of all these things to the eleven disciples and all the others.
10 এরা হলেন মাগ্দালাবাসী মরিয়ম, যোহান্না ও যাকোবের মা মরিয়ম। তাঁদের সঙ্গে আরও অনেকে এই ঘটনার কথা প্রেরিতশিষ্যদের জানালেন।
Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary, the mother of James: and the other women with them said these things to the Apostles.
11 কিন্তু তাঁরা মহিলাদের কথা বিশ্বাস করলেন না। কারণ তাঁদের এই সমস্ত কথা তাঁরা আজগুবি বলে মনে করলেন।
But these words seemed foolish to them, and they had no belief in them.
12 কিন্তু পিতর উঠে সমাধিস্থানের দিকে দৌড়ে গেলেন। তিনি নিচু হয়ে দেখলেন, লিনেন কাপড়ের খণ্ডগুলি পড়ে রয়েছে। বিস্ময়ে অভিভূত হয়ে কী ঘটেছে ভাবতে ভাবতে তিনি ফিরে গেলেন।
But Peter got up and went to the place where the body had been put, and looking in he saw nothing but the linen cloths, and he went to his house full of wonder at what had taken place.
13 সেদিন, তাঁদের মধ্যে দুজন জেরুশালেম থেকে এগারো কিলোমিটার দূরের ইম্মায়ুস নামে একটি গ্রামে যাচ্ছিলেন।
And then, two of them, on that very day, were going to a little town named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
14 তাঁরা পরস্পর বিগত ঘটনাবলি সম্পর্কে আলাপ-আলোচনা করছিলেন।
And they were talking together about all those things which had taken place.
15 তাঁরা যখন পরস্পরের মধ্যে এ সমস্ত আলোচনা করছিলেন, তখন যীশু স্বয়ং উপস্থিত হয়ে তাঁদের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পথ চলতে লাগলেন;
And while they were talking and questioning together, Jesus himself came near and went with them.
16 কিন্তু দৃষ্টি রুদ্ধ থাকায় তাঁরা তাঁকে চিনতে পারলেন না।
But their eyes were not open that they might have knowledge of him.
17 তিনি তাঁদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “পথ চলতে চলতে তোমরা পরস্পর কী আলোচনা করছিলে?” তাঁরা বিষণ্ণ মুখে থমকে দাঁড়ালেন।
And he said to them, What are you talking about together while you go?
18 তাঁদের মধ্যে যাঁর নাম ক্লিয়োপা তিনি তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আপনি কি জেরুশালেমে একমাত্র প্রবাসী যে, এই কয় দিনে সেখানে যা ঘটেছে তার কিছুই আপনি জানেন না?”
Then stopping, and looking sadly at him, one of them, named Cleopas, said to him, Are you the only man living in Jerusalem who has not had news of the things which have taken place there at this time?
19 তিনি জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “কী সব ঘটেছে?” তাঁরা উত্তর দিলেন, “নাসরতের যীশু সম্পর্কিত ঘটনা। তিনি ছিলেন একজন ভাববাদী, ঈশ্বর ও সব মানুষের সাক্ষাতে বাক্যে ও কাজে এক ক্ষমতাসম্পন্ন ব্যক্তি।
And he said to them, What things? And they said, The things to do with Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet, great in his acts and his words, before God and all the people:
20 প্রধান যাজকেরা ও আমাদের সমাজভবনের অধ্যক্ষরা তাঁকে মৃত্যুদণ্ডে দণ্ডিত করার উদ্দেশে সমর্পিত করল এবং তারা তাঁকে ক্রুশবিদ্ধ করল।
And how the chief priests and our rulers gave him up to be put to death on the cross.
21 কিন্তু আমরা আশা করেছিলাম যে, তিনিই সেই ব্যক্তি, যিনি ইস্রায়েলকে মুক্ত করতে চলেছেন। আর তিন দিন হল এই সমস্ত ঘটনা ঘটেছে।
But we were hoping that he would be the Saviour of Israel. In addition to all this he has now let three days go by from the time when these things took place;
22 এছাড়াও, আমাদের কয়েকজন মহিলা আমাদের হতবাক করে দিয়েছেন। তাঁরা আজ খুব ভোরবেলা সমাধিস্থলে গিয়েছিলেন,
And certain women among us gave us cause for wonder, for they went early to the place where his body had been put,
23 কিন্তু তাঁর দেহের সন্ধান পাননি। তাঁরা এসে আমাদের বললেন যে, তাঁরা স্বর্গদূতদের দর্শন লাভ করেছেন। তাঁরা আরও বললেন যে, যীশু জীবিত আছেন।
And it was not there; then they came saying that they had seen a vision of angels who said that he was living.
24 তারপর আমাদের কয়েকজন সঙ্গী সমাধিস্থলে গিয়ে মহিলারা যেমন বলেছিলেন, ঠিক সেইমতো দেখলেন, কিন্তু তাঁকে তাঁরা দেখতে পাননি।”
And some of those who were with us went to the place, and saw that it was as the women had said, but him they did not see.
25 যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা কত অবোধ! আর ভাববাদীরা যেসব কথা বলে গেছেন, সেগুলি বিশ্বাস করতে তোমাদের মন কেমন শিথিল!
And he said, O foolish men! how slow you are to give belief to what the prophets have said.
26 এই প্রকার দুঃখ বরণ করার পরই কি খ্রীষ্ট স্বমহিমায় প্রবেশ করতেন না?”
Was it not necessary for the Christ to go through these things, and to come into his glory?
27 এরপর মোশি ও সমস্ত ভাববাদী গ্রন্থ থেকে শুরু করে সমগ্র শাস্ত্রে তাঁর সম্পর্কে যা লেখা আছে, সে সমস্তই তিনি তাঁদের কাছে ব্যাখ্যা করলেন।
And he made clear to them all the things in the Writings, from Moses and from all the prophets, which had to do with himself.
28 যে গ্রামে তারা যাচ্ছিলেন, সেখানে উপস্থিত হলে যীশু আরও দূরে এগিয়ে যাওয়ার ভাব দেখালেন।
And they came near the town to which they were going, and he seemed as if he was going on;
29 কিন্তু তাঁরা তাঁকে সাধাসাধি করে বললেন, “সন্ধ্যা হয়ে এসেছে, দিনও প্রায় শেষ হয়ে এল, আপনি আমাদের সঙ্গে থাকুন।” তাই তিনি তাঁদের সঙ্গে থাকার জন্য ভিতরে গেলেন।
But they kept him back, saying, Do not go, for evening is near, the day is almost gone. And he went in with them.
30 তাঁদের সঙ্গে আহারে বসে তিনি রুটি নিলেন, ধন্যবাদ দিলেন এবং তা ভেঙে তাঁদের হাতে দিলেন।
And when he was seated with them at table, he took the bread, and said words of blessing and, making division of it, he gave it to them.
31 সেই মুহূর্তে তাঁদের চোখ খুলে গেল, আর তাঁরা তাঁকে চিনতে পারলেন। কিন্তু যীশু তাঁদের চোখের সামনে থেকে অদৃশ্য হয়ে গেলেন।
And then their eyes were open, and they had knowledge of him, but he went from their view.
32 তাঁরা পরস্পরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আমাদের সঙ্গে পথ চলতে চলতে তিনি যখন আমাদের কাছে শাস্ত্রের ব্যাখ্যা করছিলেন, তখন কি আমাদের অন্তরে এক আবেগের উত্তাপ অনুভব হচ্ছিল না?”
And they said to one another, Were not our hearts burning in us while he was talking to us on the way, making clear to us the holy Writings?
33 সেই মুহূর্তে তাঁরা উঠে জেরুশালেমে ফিরে গেলেন। সেখানে সেই এগারোজন এবং তাঁদের সঙ্গীদের তাঁরা দেখতে পেলেন।
And that very hour they got up and went back to Jerusalem, where the eleven and the others had come together.
34 তাঁরা এক স্থানে মিলিত হয়ে বলাবলি করছিলেন, “সত্যিই, প্রভু পুনরুত্থিত হয়েছেন এবং শিমোনকে দর্শন দিয়েছেন।”
And they said to them, The Lord has truly come back to life again, and Simon has seen him.
35 তখন সেই দুজন, পথে কী ঘটেছিল এবং যীশু রুটি ভেঙে দেওয়ার পর তাঁরা কেমনভাবে তাঁকে চিনতে পেরেছিলেন, সেইসব কথা জানালেন।
And they gave an account of the things which had taken place on the way, and how, when he gave them bread, they had knowledge of him.
36 তাঁরা তখনও এ বিষয়ে আলোচনা করছিলেন, সেই সময় যীশু তাঁদের মধ্যে এসে দাঁড়ালেন এবং তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমাদের শান্তি হোক।”
And while they were saying these things, he himself was among them, and said to them, Peace be with you!
37 কোনও ভূত দেখছেন ভেবে তাঁরা ভয়ভীত হলেন ও বিহ্বল হয়ে পড়লেন।
But they were full of fear, being of the opinion that they were seeing a spirit.
38 তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা দুশ্চিন্তাগ্রস্ত হচ্ছো কেন? তোমাদের মনে সংশয়ই বা জাগছে কেন?
And he said to them, Why are you troubled, and why are your hearts full of doubt?
39 আমার হাত ও পায়ের দিকে তাকিয়ে দেখো! এ স্বয়ং আমি! আমাকে স্পর্শ করো, দেখো! ভূতের এরকম হাড় মাংস নেই; তোমরা দেখতে পাচ্ছ, আমার তা আছে।”
See; my hands and my feet: it is I myself; put your hands on me and make certain; for a spirit has not flesh and bones as you see that I have.
40 এই কথা বলার পর তিনি তাঁর দু-হাত ও পা তাঁদের দেখালেন।
And when he had said this, he let them see his hands and his feet.
41 আনন্দে ও বিস্ময়ে তাঁরা তখনও বিশ্বাস করতে পারছেন না দেখে, যীশু তাঁদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “এখানে তোমাদের কাছে কিছু খাবার আছে?”
And because, for joy and wonder, they were still in doubt, he said to them, Have you any food here?
42 তাঁরা তাঁকে আগুনে ঝলসানো এক টুকরো মাছ দিলেন।
And they gave him a bit of cooked fish.
43 তিনি সেটি নিয়ে তাঁদের সামনেই আহার করলেন।
And before their eyes he took a meal.
44 তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকার সময়েই আমি এই কথা বলেছিলাম, মোশির বিধানে, ভাববাদীদের গ্রন্থে ও গীতসংহিতায় আমার সম্পর্কে যা লেখা আছে, তার সবকিছুই পূর্ণ হবে।”
And he said to them, These are the words which I said to you when I was still with you, how it was necessary for all the things which are in the writings of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms about me, to be put into effect.
45 তারপর তিনি তাঁদের মনের দ্বার খুলে দিলেন, যেন তাঁরা শাস্ত্র বুঝতে পারেন।
Then he made the holy Writings clear to their minds.
46 তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “একথা লেখা আছে, খ্রীষ্ট কষ্টভোগ করবেন ও তৃতীয় দিনে মৃতলোক থেকে পুনরুত্থিত হবেন
And he said to them, So it is in the Writings that the Christ would undergo death, and come back to life again on the third day;
47 এবং জেরুশালেম থেকে শুরু করে সমস্ত জাতির কাছে তাঁরই নামে মন পরিবর্তন ও পাপক্ষমার কথা প্রচার করা হবে।
And that teaching about a change of heart and forgiveness of sins is to be given to Jerusalem first and to all nations in his name.
48 আর তোমরাই এ সমস্ত বিষয়ের সাক্ষী।
You are witnesses of these things.
49 আর দেখো, পিতার প্রতিশ্রুত দান আমি তোমাদের জন্য পাঠিয়ে দিতে যাচ্ছি; কিন্তু ঊর্ধ্বলোক থেকে আগত শক্তি লাভ না করা পর্যন্ত তোমরা এই নগরেই অবস্থান করো।”
And now I will send to you what my father has undertaken to give you, but do not go from the town, till the power from heaven comes to you.
50 তারপর তিনি তাঁদের বেথানির কাছাকাছি নিয়ে গিয়ে, তাঁদের দিকে হাত তুলে আশীর্বাদ করলেন।
And he took them out till they were near Bethany, and lifting up his hands, he gave them a blessing.
51 আশীর্বাদরত অবস্থাতেই তিনি তাঁদের ছেড়ে গেলেন ও স্বর্গে নীত হলেন।
And while he was doing so, he went from them and was taken up into heaven.
52 তাঁরা তখন তাঁকে প্রণাম জানিয়ে মহা আনন্দে জেরুশালেমে ফিরে গেলেন
And they gave him worship and went back to Jerusalem with great joy.
53 এবং মন্দিরে নিরন্তর ঈশ্বরের বন্দনা করতে থাকলেন।
And they were in the Temple at all times, giving praise to God.
