লুক 17
1 যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের বললেন, “পাপের প্রলোভন নিশ্চিতভাবে আসবে, কিন্তু ধিক্ তাকে, যার মাধ্যমে সেসব আসবে।
Jesus said to his disciples, “Temptations are unavoidable, but it will be a disaster for those through whom they come!
2 যে এই ক্ষুদ্রজনেদের একজনকেও পাপে প্রলোভিত করে, তার গলায় জাঁতা বেঁধে তাকে সমুদ্রে নিক্ষেপ করাই বরং তার পক্ষে ভালো।
For such people it would be better to have a millstone hung around the neck and be thrown into the sea than to cause these little ones to sin.
3 তাই নিজেদের সম্পর্কে সতর্ক থেকো। “তোমার ভাই পাপ করলে তাকে তিরস্কার কোরো এবং সে অনুতপ্ত হলে, তাকে ক্ষমা কোরো।
So take care what you do. If your brother sins, warn him; and if he repents, forgive him.
4 সে যদি দিনে সাতবার তোমার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করে এবং সাতবারই ফিরে এসে বলে, ‘আমি অনুতপ্ত,’ তাহলেও তাকে ক্ষমা কোরো।”
Even if he sins against you seven times a day, and seven times comes back and tells you, ‘I'm really sorry,’ forgive him.”
5 প্রেরিতশিষ্যেরা প্রভুকে বললেন, “আমাদের বিশ্বাস বৃদ্ধি করুন।”
The apostles said to the Lord, “Help us to have more trust!”
6 তিনি বললেন, “যদি তোমাদের সর্ষে বীজের মতো অতি সামান্য বিশ্বাস থাকে, তাহলে এই তুঁত গাছটিকে তোমরা বলতে পারো, ‘যাও, সমূলে উপড়ে দিয়ে সমুদ্রে রোপিত হও,’ তাহলে সেরকমই হবে।
The Lord replied, “Even if your trust was as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Uproot yourself, and plant yourself in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
7 “মনে করো, তোমাদের কোনো একজনের এক দাস আছে। সে চাষবাস বা মেষপালের তত্ত্বাবধান করে। সে মাঠ থেকে ফিরে এলে তার মনিব কি তাকে বলবে, ‘এখন এসে খেতে বসো’?
Say you have a servant who does plowing or shepherding. When he comes in from work, do you say to him, ‘Come in and sit down now for a meal’?
8 বরং, সে কি তাকে বলবেন না, ‘আমার খাবারের আয়োজন করো; আমি যতক্ষণ খাওয়াদাওয়া করব, আমার সেবাযত্ন করার জন্য প্রস্তুত থাকো, তারপর তুমি খাওয়াদাওয়া করতে পারো’?
No. You say to him, ‘Prepare a meal for me, get yourself dressed, and serve me until I've finished my meal. After that you can have your meal.’
9 তার কথামতো কাজ করার জন্য তিনি কি সেই দাসকে ধন্যবাদ দেবেন?
And do you thank the servant for doing what you told him? No.
10 সেরকমই, তোমাদের যা করতে বলা হয়েছিল, তার সবকিছু পালন করার পর তোমরাও বোলো, ‘আমরা অযোগ্য দাস, যা করতে বাধ্য ছিলাম শুধুমাত্র তাই করেছি।’”
Likewise once you've done everything you were told, you should simply say, ‘We are undeserving servants. We just did our duty.’”
11 জেরুশালেমের দিকে যাওয়ার সময় যীশু শমরিয়া ও গালীল প্রদেশের মধ্যবর্তী সীমান্ত অঞ্চল দিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন।
As Jesus continued on his way to Jerusalem, he passed along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
12 তিনি যখন একটি গ্রামে প্রবেশ করছেন, দশজন কুষ্ঠরোগী তাঁর কাছে এল। তারা দূরে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল
As he entered a particular village, ten lepers met him, standing at a distance.
13 এবং উচ্চকণ্ঠে চিৎকার করে বলল, “যীশু, প্রভু, আমাদের প্রতি দয়া করুন!”
They called out, “Jesus, Master, please have mercy on us.”
14 তাদের দেখে তিনি বললেন, “যাও, যাজকদের কাছে গিয়ে নিজেদের দেখাও।” আর যেতে যেতেই তারা শুচিশুদ্ধ হয়ে গেল।
When Jesus saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” On their way there, they were healed.
15 তাদের মধ্যে একজন যখন দেখল, সে সুস্থ হয়ে গেছে, সে ফিরে এসে উচ্চকণ্ঠে ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করতে লাগল।
One of them when he saw that he was healed, returned to Jesus, shouting praises to God.
16 সে যীশুর পায়ে লুটিয়ে পড়ে তাঁর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাল। সে ছিল একজন শমরীয়।
He fell down at Jesus' feet, thanking him. He was a Samaritan.
17 যীশু জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “দশজনই কি শুচিশুদ্ধ হয়নি? অন্য নয়জন কোথায়?
“Weren't ten lepers healed?” Jesus asked. “Where are the other nine?
18 ফিরে এসে ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করার জন্য এই বিদেশি ছাড়া আর কাউকে কি পাওয়া গেল না?”
Didn't anyone else come back to praise God—only this foreigner?”
19 তারপর তিনি তাকে বললেন, “ওঠো, চলে যাও। তোমার বিশ্বাসই তোমাকে সুস্থ করেছে।”
Jesus told the man, “Get up and go on your way. Your trust has healed you.”
20 এক সময় ফরিশীরা ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের আগমনকাল সম্বন্ধে জানতে চাইল। যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, “সতর্ক দৃষ্টি রাখলেই যে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের আগমন দেখতে পাওয়া যাবে, তেমন নয়।
Once, when the Pharisees came and asked him when God's kingdom would come, Jesus replied, “God's kingdom doesn't come with visible signs that you can observe.
21 লোকেরা বলবেও না, ‘ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য এখানে’ বা ‘ওখানে,’ কারণ ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য বিরাজ করছে তোমাদের মধ্যেই।”
People won't be saying, ‘Look, it's here’ or ‘Look, it's there,’ for God's kingdom is among you.”
22 তারপর তিনি তাঁর শিষ্যদের বললেন, “এমন এক সময় আসছে, যখন তোমরা মনুষ্যপুত্রের রাজত্বের একটি দিন দেখার আকাঙ্ক্ষা করবে, কিন্তু তোমরা তা দেখতে পাবে না।
Then Jesus told the disciples, “The time is coming when you'll long to see the day when the Son of man comes, but you won't see it.
23 লোকেরা তোমাদের বলবে, ‘ওই যে, তিনি ওখানে’ অথবা ‘এখানে!’ তোমরা তাদের পিছনে ছুটে বেড়িয়ো না।
They'll be telling you, ‘Look, there he is,’ or ‘Look, here he is,’ but don't go running off after them.
24 কারণ বিদ্যুৎ রেখা যেমন আকাশের এক প্রান্ত থেকে অপর প্রান্তে উদ্ভাসিত হয়ে আকাশকে আলোকিত করে, তেমনই মনুষ্যপুত্রও তাঁর দিনে হবেন।
The day when the Son of man comes will be just like lightning that flashes, lighting up the sky from one side to the other.
25 কিন্তু প্রথমে তাঁকে অবশ্যই বহু যন্ত্রণাভোগ করতে হবে এবং এই প্রজন্মের মানুষের দ্বারা প্রত্যাখ্যাত হতে হবে।
But first he will have to suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
26 “নোহের সময় যেমন ঘটেছিল, মনুষ্যপুত্রের সময়েও সেরকম হবে।
The time when the Son of man comes will be like it was in Noah's day.
27 নোহ জাহাজে প্রবেশ করা পর্যন্ত লোকেরা খাওয়াদাওয়া করত, বিবাহ করত ও তাদের বিবাহ দেওয়া হত। তারপর মহাপ্লাবন এসে তাদের সবাইকে ধ্বংস করে দিল।
People went on eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day Noah went into the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 “লোটের সময়েও একই ঘটনা ঘটেছিল। লোকেরা খাওয়াদাওয়া করছিল, কেনাবেচা, কৃষিকাজ ও গৃহ নির্মাণে ব্যস্ত ছিল।
It will be like it was in Lot's day. People went on eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
29 কিন্তু লোট যেদিন সদোম ত্যাগ করলেন, সেদিন আকাশ থেকে আগুন ও গন্ধকের বৃষ্টি নেমে তাদের সবাইকে ধ্বংস করে দিল।
But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 “মনুষ্যপুত্র যেদিন প্রকাশিত হবেন, সেদিনও ঠিক এরকমই হবে।
The day when the Son of man appears will be just like that.
31 সেদিন ছাদের উপরে যে থাকবে, সে যেন ঘরের ভিতরে জিনিসপত্র নেওয়ার জন্য নিচে নেমে না আসে। সেরকমই, মাঠে যে থাকবে, সে যেন কোনোকিছু নেওয়ার জন্য ফিরে না যায়।
If you're up on the roof that day don't go down and get your things; and if you're out in the fields don't go back home either.
32 লোটের স্ত্রীর কথা মনে করো!
Remember Lot's wife!
33 যে নিজের জীবন রক্ষা করতে চায়, সে তা হারাবে; আবার যে তার জীবন হারায়, সে তা রক্ষা করবে।
If you try to hold on to your life you'll lose it; but if you lose your life you'll save it.
34 আমি তোমাদের বলছি, সেই রাত্রে একই বিছানায় দুজন শুয়ে থাকবে; তাদের একজনকে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে, অন্যজনকে ছেড়ে যাওয়া হবে।
I tell you, at that time two will be in bed at night; one will be taken and the other left.
35 দুজন মহিলা একসঙ্গে জাঁতা পেষণ করবে; একজনকে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে, অন্যজনকে ছেড়ে যাওয়া হবে।
Two women will be grinding grain, one will be taken; and the other left.”
36 দুজন মাঠে থাকবে; একজনকে নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে, অন্যজনকে ছেড়ে যাওয়া হবে।”
37 তারা জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “কোথায় প্রভু?” তিনি বললেন, “যেখানে মৃতদেহ, শকুনের ঝাঁক সেখানেই জড়ো হবে।”
“Where, Lord?” they asked. “Where the carcass is, that's where the vultures gather,” Jesus replied.
