যিরমিয়ের বিলাপ 5
1 হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের প্রতি যা ঘটেছে, তা স্মরণ করো, এদিকে তাকাও, দেখো আমাদের অসম্মান।
Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2 আমাদের অধিকার বিজাতীয় লোকদের হাতে, আমাদের ঘরবাড়ি বিদেশিদের দখলে চলে গেছে।
Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3 আমরা অনাথ ও পিতৃহীন হয়েছি, আমাদের মায়েরা বিধবা হয়েছে।
We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
4 পান করার জলটুকুও আমাদের কিনে খেতে হয়; অর্থ দিলে তবেই আমরা জ্বালানির কাঠ পাই।
We have drank our water for money; our wood is sold to us.
5 যারা আমাদের তাড়া করে, তারা আমাদের ঠিক পিছনেই; আমরা শ্রান্ত-ক্লান্ত এবং এতটুকু বিশ্রাম পাই না।
Our necks [are] under persecution: we labor, [and] have no rest.
6 পর্যাপ্ত খাদ্যদ্রব্য পাওয়ার জন্য আমরা মিশর ও আসিরিয়ার কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছি।
We have given the hand [to] the Egyptians, [and to] the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
7 আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা পাপ করেছিলেন, কিন্তু তারা আর নেই, তাই আমরা তাদের শাস্তি বহন করছি।
Our fathers have sinned, [and are] not; and we have borne their iniquities.
8 ক্রীতদাসেরা আমাদের উপরে কর্তৃত্ব করে, এবং তাদের হাত থেকে আমাদের উদ্ধার করার জন্য কেউ নেই।
Servants have ruled over us: [there is] none that doth deliver [us] out of their hand.
9 মরুপ্রান্তরে তরোয়ালের আক্রমণের মধ্যে জীবন বিপন্ন করে আমাদের খাদ্য সংগ্রহ করতে হয়।
We procured our bread with [the peril of] our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
10 আমাদের চামড়া উনুনের মতো তপ্ত, খিদেয় আমাদের জ্বর জ্বর বোধ হয়।
Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
11 সিয়োনে নারীদের অপবিত্র করা হয়েছে, এবং যিহূদার নগরগুলিতে কুমারী-কন্যারা ধর্ষিতা হয়েছে।
They ravished the women in Zion, [and] the maids in the cities of Judah.
12 রাজপুরুষদের হাত বেঁধে ফাঁসি দেওয়া হয়েছে, প্রাচীন ব্যক্তিদের প্রতি কোনো সম্মান দেখানো হয়নি।
Princes were hanged by their hand: the faces of elders were not honored.
13 যুবকেরা জাঁতা ঘুরিয়ে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে; বালকেরা কাঠের ভারী বোঝায় টলমল করে।
They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
14 প্রাচীনেরা নগরদ্বার থেকে চলে গেছেন; যুবকেরা তাদের বাজনার শব্দ থামিয়ে দিয়েছে।
The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.
15 আমাদের হৃদয় থেকে আনন্দ চলে গেছে, আমাদের নৃত্য শোকে পরিণত হয়েছে।
The joy of our heart hath ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
16 আমাদের মস্তক থেকে মুকুট খসে পড়েছে। ধিক্ আমাদের, কেননা আমরা পাপ করেছি!
The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe to us, that we have sinned!
17 এইসব কারণে আমাদের হৃদয় মূর্ছিত হয়েছে, এইসব কারণে আমাদের চোখের দৃষ্টি ক্ষীণ হয়েছে।
For this our heart is faint; for these [things] our eyes are dim.
18 কারণ সিয়োন পর্বত পরিত্যক্ত পড়ে আছে, শিয়ালেরা তার উপরে বিচরণ করে।
Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
19 হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার রাজত্ব অনন্তকালীন; তোমার সিংহাসন পুরুষানুক্রমে চিরস্থায়ী।
Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
20 তুমি কেন সবসময় আমাদের ভুলে যাও? কেন তুমি এত দীর্ঘকাল যাবৎ আমাদের পরিত্যাগ করে আছ?
Why dost thou forget us for ever, [and] forsake us so long time?
21 হে সদাপ্রভু, তোমার কাছে আমাদের ফিরিয়ে নাও, যেন আমরা ফিরে আসতে পারি; পুরোনো দিনের মতোই আমাদের অবস্থা নবায়িত করো।
Turn thou us to thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
22 কিন্তু তুমি যে আমাদের একেবারেই অগ্রাহ্য করেছ, এবং আমাদের উপরে তোমার মাত্রাহীন ক্রোধ রয়েছে।
But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
