বিচারকর্ত্তৃগণের বিবরণ 9
1 যিরুব্বায়ালের ছেলে অবীমেলক শিখিমে তার মামাদের কাছে গিয়ে তাদের এবং তার মায়ের গোষ্ঠীভুক্ত সব লোকজনকে বলল,
And he went Abimelech [the] son of Jerub-Baal Shechem towards to [the] brothers of mother his and he spoke to them and to all [the] clan of [the] house of [the] father of mother his saying.
2 “তোমরা শিখিমের সব নাগরিককে জিজ্ঞাসা করো, ‘তোমাদের পক্ষে কোনটি ভালো: তোমাদের উপরে যিরুব্বায়ালের সত্তরজন ছেলের কর্তৃত্ব করা, না শুধু একজনের?’ মনে রেখো, আমি তোমাদের রক্তমাংসের আত্মীয়।”
Speak please in [the] ears of all [the] citizens of Shechem what? [is] good for you ¿ to rule over you seventy man all [the] sons of Jerub-Baal or? to rule over you a man one and you will remember that [am] bone your and flesh your I.
3 তার মায়ের আত্মীয়েরা তার এই কথাগুলি শিখিমের লোকদের কাছে বলাতে তারা অবীমেলকের অনুগামী হওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করল, কারণ তারা বলল, “উনি তো আমাদের আত্মীয়।”
And they spoke [the] brothers of mother his on him in [the] ears of all [the] citizens of Shechem all the words these and it turned aside heart their after Abimelech for they said [is] brother our he.
4 তারা বায়াল-বরীতের মন্দির থেকে সত্তর শেকল রুপো এনে অবীমেলককে উপহার দিল, এবং অবীমেলক বেপরোয়া ও নীচমনা কিছু লোককে ভাড়া করার জন্য সেই রুপো ব্যবহার করল, ও তারা তার অনুগামী হল।
And they gave to him seventy silver (from [the] house of Baal-*L(abh)*) Berith and he hired for them Abimelech men unprincipled and undisciplined and they went after him.
5 সে অফ্রায় তার বাবার ঘরে গিয়ে যিরুব্বায়ালের ছেলেদের, তার সত্তরজন ভাইকে একটি পাষাণ-পাথরের উপরে হত্যা করল। কিন্তু যিরুব্বায়ালের ছোটো ছেলে যোথম লুকিয়ে পালিয়েছিলেন।
And he went [the] house of father his Ophrah towards and he killed brothers his [the] sons of Jerub-Baal (seventy *L(abh)*) man on stone one and he was left Jotham [the] son of Jerub-Baal young for he hid himself.
6 পরে শিখিম ও বেথ-মিল্লোর সব নাগরিক শিখিমের সেই বিশাল গাছটির পাশে অবস্থিত স্তম্ভের কাছে একত্রিত হয়ে অবীমেলককে রাজপদে অভিষিক্ত করল।
And they gathered all [the] citizens of Shechem and all Beth Millo and they went and they made king Abimelech to king near [the] great tree set up which [was] in Shechem.
7 যোথম একথা শুনতে পেয়ে গরিষীম পর্বতের চূড়ায় গিয়ে উঠলেন এবং চিৎকার করে তাদের বললেন, “হে শিখিমের নাগরিকেরা, তোমরা আমার কথা শোনো, যেন ঈশ্বরও তোমাদের কথা শোনেন।
And people told to Jotham and he went and he stood on [the] top of [the] mountain of Gerizim and he lifted up voice his and he called out and he said to them listen to me O citizens of Shechem so he may listen to you God.
8 একদিন গাছেরা তাদের জন্য একজন রাজাকে অভিষিক্ত করতে গেল। তারা জলপাই গাছকে বলল, ‘তুমি আমাদের রাজা হও।’
Certainly they went the trees to anoint over them a king and they said to the olive tree (reign! *Q(k)*) over us.
9 “কিন্তু জলপাই গাছ তাদের বলল, ‘আমার যে তেল দ্বারা দেবতা ও মানুষেরা সম্মানিত হয়, তা ত্যাগ করে আমি কি গাছদের উপর দুলতে থাকব?’
And it said to them the olive tree ¿ will I cease fatness my which by me people honor gods and men and will I go to sway over the trees.
10 “তারপর, গাছেরা ডুমুর গাছকে বলল, ‘এসো, তুমি আমাদের রাজা হও।’
And they said the trees to the fig tree come you reign over us.
11 “কিন্তু ডুমুর গাছ উত্তর দিল, ‘আমি কি গাছেদের উপর দুলবার জন্য আমার ভালো ও মিষ্টি ফল উৎপন্ন করা ছেড়ে দেব?’
And it said to them the fig tree ¿ will I cease sweetness my and fruit my good and will I go to sway over the trees.
12 “গাছেরা তখন দ্রাক্ষালতাকে বলল, ‘তুমি এসে আমাদের উপর রাজত্ব করো।’
And they said the trees to the vine come you (reign *Q(k)*) over us.
13 “কিন্তু দ্রাক্ষালতা বলল, ‘আমার যে দ্রাক্ষারস মানুষ ও দেবতাদের আমোদিত করে, তা উৎপন্ন না করে, আমি কি গাছেদের উপর দুলবো?’
And it said to them the vine ¿ will I cease new wine my which makes glad gods and men and will I go to sway over the trees.
14 “শেষে সব গাছ কাঁটাঝোপকে বলল, ‘তুমি এসো, আমাদের রাজা হও।’
And they said all the trees to the thorn bush come you reign over us.
15 “কাঁটাঝোপ গাছেদের বলল, ‘তোমরা যদি সত্যিই আমাকে তোমাদের রাজারূপে অভিষিক্ত করতে চাও, তবে এসো ও আমার ছায়ায় আশ্রয় নাও; কিন্তু যদি না নাও, তবে এই কাঁটাঝোপ থেকে আগুন বের হয়ে এসে লেবাননের দেবদারু গাছগুলিকে গ্রাস করুক।’
And it said the thorn bush to the trees if in truth you [are] anointing me to king over you come take refuge in shade my and if not let it go out a fire from the thorn bush and let it consume [the] cedars of Lebanon.
16 “অবীমেলককে রাজা করে তোমরা কি সম্মানজনক ও যথার্থ আচরণ করেছ? তোমরা কি যিরুব্বায়াল ও তাঁর পরিবারের প্রতি সদাচরণ করেছ? তোমাদের এই ব্যবহার কি তাঁর প্রাপ্য ছিল?
And now if in faithfulness and in integrity you have acted and you have made king Abimelech and if good you have done with Jerub-Baal and with house his and if according to [the] dealing of hands his you have done to him.
17 মনে রেখো যে আমার বাবা তোমাদের জন্য যুদ্ধ করেছিলেন এবং জীবনের ঝুঁকি নিয়ে মিদিয়নীয়দের হাত থেকে তোমাদের রক্ষা করেছিলেন।
That he fought father my on you and he threw life his from in front and he delivered you from [the] hand of Midian.
18 কিন্তু আজ তোমরা আমার বাবার পরিবারের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করে বসেছো। একটিই পাথরের উপরে তোমরা তাঁর সত্তরজন ছেলেকে হত্যা করেছ এবং তাঁর ক্রীতদাসীর ছেলে অবীমেলককে শিখিমের নাগরিকদের উপরে রাজা করেছ, যেহেতু সে তোমাদের আত্মীয়।
And you you have risen up on [the] house of father my this day and you have killed sons his seventy man on stone one and you have made king Abimelech [the] son of female slave his over [the] citizens of Shechem for [is] brother your he.
19 অতএব তোমরা কি আজ যিরুব্বায়াল ও তাঁর পরিবারের প্রতি সম্মানজনক ও যথার্থ আচরণ করেছ? যদি তা করে থাকো, তবে অবীমেলককে নিয়ে তোমরা আনন্দ করো, এবং সেও তোমাদের নিয়ে আনন্দ করুক!
And if in faithfulness and in integrity you have acted with Jerub-Baal and with house his the day this rejoice in Abimelech so he may rejoice also he in you.
20 কিন্তু যদি তা না করে থাকো, তবে অবীমেলকের কাছ থেকে আগুন বের হয়ে আসুক এবং তোমাদের, ও শিখিম ও বেথ-মিল্লোর নাগরিকদের গ্রাস করুক, এবং তোমাদের ও শিখিম ও বেথ-মিল্লোর নাগরিকদের কাছ থেকেও আগুন বের হয়ে আসুক ও অবীমেলককে গ্রাস করুক!”
And if not let it go out a fire from Abimelech and let it consume [the] citizens of Shechem and Beth Millo and let it go out a fire from [the] citizens of Shechem and from Beth Millo and let it consume Abimelech.
21 পরে যোথম পালিয়ে গেলেন ও বেরে পৌঁছালেন এবং সেখানেই বসবাস করতে লাগলেন যেহেতু তিনি তাঁর ভাই অবীমেলককে ভয় পেয়েছিলেন।
And he fled Jotham and he ran away and he went Beer towards and he dwelt there [away] from before Abimelech brother his.
22 অবীমেলক ইস্রায়েলীদের উপর তিন বছর রাজত্ব করার পর,
And he ruled Abimelech over Israel three years.
23 ঈশ্বর অবীমেলক ও শিখিমের নাগরিকদের মধ্যে এমন শত্রুতা উৎপন্ন করলেন যে তারা অবীমেলকের বিরুদ্ধে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করল।
And he sent God a spirit evil between Abimelech and between [the] citizens of Shechem and they dealt treacherously [the] citizens of Shechem with Abimelech.
24 ঈশ্বর এরকমটি করলেন যেন যিরুব্বায়ালের সত্তরজন ছেলের বিরুদ্ধে সম্পন্ন অপরাধের, তাদের রক্তপাতের দায় তাদের ভাই অবীমেলক এবং শিখিমের সেই নাগরিকদের উপর বর্তায়, যারা তার ভাইদের হত্যা করার সময় তাকে সাহায্য করেছিল।
To come [the] violence of seventy [the] sons of Jerub-Baal and blood their to put on Abimelech brother their who he killed them and on [the] citizens of Shechem who they strengthened hands his to kill brothers his.
25 অবীমেলকের বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করে শিখিমের নাগরিকরা পর্বতের চূড়ায় চূড়ায় গোপনে লোকদের ঘাঁটি গেড়ে বসিয়ে দিল এবং সেখান দিয়ে যাওয়া প্রত্যেকের সবকিছু তারা লুট করতে লাগল। আর এই খবরটি অবীমেলককে জানানো হল।
And they set to him [the] citizens of Shechem ambushers on [the] tops of the mountains and they robbed every [one] who he passed by on them on the road and it was told to Abimelech.
26 এদিকে এবদের ছেলে গাল তার আত্মীয়দের সঙ্গে নিয়ে শিখিমের দিকে এগিয়ে গেল, এবং সেখানকার নাগরিকরা তার উপর আস্থা স্থাপন করল।
And he came Gaal [the] son of Ebed and brothers his and they passed on in Shechem and they trusted in him [the] citizens of Shechem.
27 ক্ষেতে গিয়ে দ্রাক্ষাফল সংগ্রহ করার ও সেগুলি মাড়াই করার পরে তারা তাদের দেবতার মন্দিরে উৎসব উদ্যাপন করল। ভোজনপান করতে করতে তারা অবীমেলককে অভিশাপ দিল।
And they went out the field and they gathered grapes vineyards their and they trod [them] and they made rejoicings and they went [the] house of god their and they ate and they drank and they cursed Abimelech.
28 পরে এবদের ছেলে গাল বলল, “অবীমেলক কে, আর আমরা শিখিমীয়রা কেন তার বশ্যতাস্বীকার করব? সে কি যিরুব্বায়ালের ছেলে নয় ও সবূল কি তার সহকারী নয়? শিখিমের বাবা হমোরের পরিবারের সেবা করো! আমরা কেন অবীমেলকের সেবা করব?
And he said - Gaal [the] son of Ebed who? [is] Abimelech and who? [is] Shechem that we will serve him ¿ not [is he] [the] son of Jerub-Baal and [is] Zebul? deputy his serve [the] men of Hamor [the] father of Shechem and why? will we serve him we.
29 যদি শুধু এই লোকেরা আমার নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন থাকত! তবে আমি তার হাত থেকে রেহাই পেতাম। আমি অবীমেলককে বলতাম, ‘তোমার সমগ্র সৈন্যবাহিনীকে ডেকে আনো!’”
And who? will he give the people this in hand my and I will remove Abimelech and he said of Abimelech make numerous army your and come out!
30 এবদের ছেলে গাল কী বলেছিল, তা যখন নগরাধ্যক্ষ সবূল শুনতে পেল, তখন সে ভীষণ ক্রুদ্ধ হল।
And he heard Zebul [the] official of the city [the] words of Gaal [the] son of Ebed and it burned anger his.
31 গোপনে সে অবীমেলকের কাছে দূত পাঠিয়ে বলল, “এবদের ছেলে গাল ও তার আত্মীয়েরা শিখিমে এসেছে এবং তারা আপনার বিরুদ্ধে নগরের লোকদের উত্তেজিত করে তুলছে।
And he sent messengers to Abimelech in treachery saying here! Gaal [the] son of Ebed and brothers his [are] coming Shechem towards and here they [are] shutting up the city on you.
32 তাই এখন, রাতের বেলায় আপনাকে ও আপনার লোকজনদের আসতে হবে ও ক্ষেতে লুকিয়ে অপেক্ষা করতে হবে।
And therefore arise night you and the people which [is] with you and lie in wait in the field.
33 সকালে সূর্যোদয়ের সময় নগরের বিরুদ্ধে আপনারা এগিয়ে যাবেন। যখন গাল ও তার লোকজন আপনাদের বিরুদ্ধে বের হয়ে আসবে, তখন তাদের আক্রমণ করার যে সুযোগ পাবেন তার সদব্যবহার করবেন।”
And it will be in the morning when rises the sun you will rise early and you will make a raid on the city and there! he and the people which [is] with him [are] going out against you and you will do to him just as it will find hand your.
34 অতএব অবীমেলক ও তার সব সৈন্যসামন্ত রাতের বেলায় উঠে চার দলে বিভক্ত হয়ে শিখিমের কাছে লুকিয়ে থাকল।
And he arose Abimelech and all the people which [was] with him night and they lay in wait on Shechem four companies.
35 এদিকে অবীমেলক ও তার সৈন্যসামন্ত যখন তাদের গোপন আস্তানা থেকে বের হয়ে আসছিল ঠিক তখনই এবদের ছেলে গাল বাইরে বেরিয়ে নগরের প্রবেশদ্বারে এসে দাঁড়িয়ে গেল।
And he went out Gaal [the] son of Ebed and he stood [the] entrance of [the] gate of the city and he arose Abimelech and the people which [was] with him from the ambush.
36 গাল যখন তাদের দেখল, তখন সে সবূলকে বলল, “দেখো, পর্বত-চূড়াগুলি থেকে লোকেরা নেমে আসছে!” সবূল উত্তর দিল, “তুমি পর্বতের ছায়াকে মানুষ বলে মনে করে ভুল করছ।”
And he saw Gaal the people and he said to Zebul there! a people [is] coming down from [the] tops of the mountains and he said to him Zebul [the] shadow of the mountains you [are] seeing like men.
37 কিন্তু গাল আবার বলে উঠল: “দেখো, পাহাড়ের মাঝখান থেকে লোকেরা নিচে নেমে আসছে, এবং গণকদের গাছের দিক থেকেও একদল লোক চলে আসছে।”
And he repeated again Gaal to speak and he said there! a people [are] coming down from with [the] center of the land and a company one [is] coming from [the] direction of [the] great tree of [the] soothsayer.
38 তখন সবূল তাকে বলল, “তোমার হামবড়াইমার্কা কথাবার্তা এখন কোথায় গেল, তুমিই তো বলেছিলে, ‘অবীমেলক কে যে আমাদের তার নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন হতে হবে?’ এই লোকদেরই কি তুমি তুচ্ছতাচ্ছিল্য করোনি? যাও, ও তাদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করো!”
And he said to him Zebul where? then [is] mouth your O [you] who you said who? [is] Abimelech that we will serve him ¿ not [is] this the people which you rejected it go out please now and fight against him.
39 অতএব গাল শিখিমের নাগরিকদের নেতৃত্ব দিল এবং অবীমেলকের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করল।
And he went out Gaal before [the] citizens of Shechem and he fought against Abimelech.
40 অবীমেলক নগরের প্রবেশদ্বার পর্যন্ত তাকে তাড়া করে গেল, এবং পালানোর সময় তাদের মধ্যে অনেকেই নিহত হল।
And he pursued him Abimelech and he fled from before him and they fell [those] fatally wounded many to [the] entrance of the gate.
41 পরে অবীমেলক অরূমায় গিয়ে বসবাস করল, এবং সবূল গাল ও তার দলবলকে শিখিম থেকে তাড়িয়ে দিল।
And he dwelt Abimelech at Arumah and he drove out Zebul Gaal and brothers his from dwelling at Shechem.
42 পরদিন শিখিমের লোকেরা ক্ষেতে বের হয়ে গেল, ও এই খবরটি অবীমেলকের কাছে পৌঁছে দেওয়া হল।
And it was from [the] next day and it went out the people the field and people told to Abimelech.
43 অতএব সে তার লোকজনদের নিয়ে, তাদের তিনটি দলে বিভক্ত করে ক্ষেতে গোপনে ঘাঁটি গেড়ে থাকল। সে যখন দেখল যে লোকেরা নগর থেকে বেরিয়ে আসছে, তখন সে তাদের আক্রমণ করার জন্য উঠে পড়ল।
And he took the people and he divided them into three companies and he lay in wait in the field and he saw and there! the people [was] going out from the city and he rose up on them and he struck down them.
44 অবীমেলক এবং তার সঙ্গে থাকা দলবল, তাড়াতাড়ি সামনে এগিয়ে গিয়ে নগরের প্রবেশদ্বারের কাছে নিজেদের অবস্থান নিল। তখন দুটি দল ক্ষেতে থাকা লোকদের আক্রমণ করে তাদের হত্যা করল।
And Abimelech and the companies which [were] with him they made a raid and they stood [the] entrance of [the] gate of the city and [the] two the companies they made a raid on all [those] who [were] in the field and they struck down them.
45 সারাটি দিন ধরে ততক্ষণ অবীমেলক সেই নগরের বিরুদ্ধে আক্রমণ চালিয়ে গেল যতক্ষণ না সে সেটি দখল করে সেখানকার সব লোককে বধ করল। পরে সে নগরটি ধ্বংস করে সেটির উপর লবণ ছড়িয়ে দিল।
And Abimelech [was] fighting against the city all the day that and he captured the city and the people which [was] in it he killed and he pulled down the city and he sowed it salt.
46 এই খবর শুনে, শিখিমের মিনারের নাগরিকেরা এল্-বরীতের মন্দিরের দুর্গে প্রবেশ করল।
And they heard all [the] citizens of [the] tower of Shechem and they went into [the] underground chamber of [the] house of El-Berith.
47 অবীমেলক যখন শুনল যে তারা সেখানে সমবেত হয়েছে,
And it was told to Abimelech that they had gathered together all [the] citizens of [the] tower of Shechem.
48 তখন সে এবং তার সব লোকজন সল্মন পর্বতে উঠে গেল। সে একটি কুড়ুল নিয়ে গাছের কয়েকটি ডালপালা কেটে, সেগুলি তার কাঁধে তুলে নিল। তার সঙ্গে থাকা লোকদের সে আদেশ দিল, “তাড়াতাড়ি করো! আমাকে যা করতে দেখছ, তোমরাও তাই করো!”
And he went up Abimelech [the] mountain of Zalmon he and all the people which [was] with him and he took Abimelech the axes in hand his and he cut off a branch of wood and he lifted up it and he put [it] on shoulder his and he said to the people which [was] with him whatever you have seen I have done hurry do like me.
49 অতএব সব লোকজন গাছের ডালপালাগুলি কেটে নিয়ে অবীমেলকের অনুগামী হল। দুর্গের চারপাশে তারা সেই ডালপালাগুলি স্তূপাকারে রেখে তাতে আগুন ধরিয়ে দিল আর লোকজন তখনও সেই দুর্গের ভিতরেই ছিল। অতএব শিখিমের দুর্গের ভিতরে থাকা সব লোকজন, প্রায় 1,000 জন নারী-পুরুষও মারা গেল।
And they cut off also all the people everyone own branch his and they went after Abimelech and they put [them] over the underground chamber and they set on fire over them the underground chamber with fire and they died also all [the] men of [the] tower of Shechem about a thousand man and woman.
50 এরপর অবীমেলক তেবেসে গেল এবং সেটি অবরুদ্ধ করে তা দখল করে নিল।
And he went Abimelech to Thebez and he encamped at Thebez and he captured it.
51 সেই নগরের মধ্যে, অবশ্য, একটি মজবুত দুর্গ ছিল। সব নারী-পুরুষ—নগরের সব লোকজন—পালিয়ে গিয়ে সেখানে আশ্রয় নিল। তারা ভিতর থেকে নিজেদের তালাবন্ধ করে দুর্গের ছাদে উঠে গেল।
And a tower of strength it was in [the] middle of the city and they fled there towards all the men and the women and all [the] citizens of the city and they shut [the] door behind them and they went up on [the] roof of the tower.
52 অবীমেলক দুর্গের কাছে গিয়ে সেটি আক্রমণ করল। কিন্তু যেই না সে দুর্গে আগুন লাগানোর জন্য দুর্গ-দুয়ারের দিকে গেল,
And he came Abimelech to the tower and he fought against it and he drew near to [the] entrance of the tower to burn it with fire.
53 একজন স্ত্রীলোক তার মাথায় জাঁতা-পাথরের উপরের এক পাটি ফেলে দিল এবং তার মাথার খুলি ফাটিয়ে দিল।
And she threw a woman one a mill-stone of an upper mill-stone on [the] head of Abimelech and it crushed skull his.
54 তখন অবীমেলক তাড়াতাড়ি তার অস্ত্র-বহনকারীকে ডেকে বলল, “তুমি তরোয়াল টেনে বের করো ও আমাকে হত্যা করো, যেন তারা বলতে না পারে যে, ‘একজন স্ত্রীলোক তাকে হত্যা করেছে।’” অতএব তার দাস তাকে বিদ্ধ করল, ও সে মারা গেল।
And he called quickly to the young man - [who] carried armor his and he said to him draw sword your and kill me lest people should say of me a woman she killed him and he pierced through him young man his and he died.
55 ইস্রায়েলীরা যখন দেখল যে অবীমেলক মারা গিয়েছে, তখন তারা স্বদেশে ফিরে গেল।
And they saw [the] man of Israel that he was dead Abimelech and they went everyone to own place his.
56 এইভাবে ঈশ্বর অবীমেলকের সেই দুষ্টতার প্রতিফল তাকে দিলেন, যা সে তার সত্তরজন ভাইকে হত্যা করার মাধ্যমে তার বাবার প্রতি করেছিল।
And he repaid God [the] evil of Abimelech which he had done to father his by killing seventy brothers his.
57 আবার শিখিমের লোকদের সব দুষ্টতার প্রতিফলও ঈশ্বর তাদের দিলেন। যিরুব্বায়ালের ছেলে যোথমের অভিশাপ তাদের উপরে বর্তালো।
And all [the] evil of [the] men of Shechem he repaid God on head their and it came to them [the] curse of Jotham [the] son of Jerub-Baal.
