1 ইস্রায়েলীদের সমগ্র মণ্ডলী শীলোতে একত্রিত হল এবং সেখানে সমাগম তাঁবুটি স্থাপন করল। দেশটি তাদের নিয়ন্ত্রণাধীন হল,
Then were gathered together all the assembly of the sons of Israel at Shiloh, and they set up there, the tent of meeting, —the land, having been subdued before them.
2 কিন্তু ইস্রায়েলীদের সাতটি বংশ তখনও তাদের উত্তরাধিকার লাভ করেনি।
But there remained among the sons of Israel, to whom had not been apportioned their inheritance, —seven tribes.
3 অতএব যিহোশূয় ইস্রায়েলীদের বললেন: “তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু যে দেশটি তোমাদের দিয়েছেন, তা অধিকার করার আগে তোমরা আর কত দিন অপেক্ষা করবে?
So Joshua said unto the sons of Israel, —How long, will ye be too slothful, to enter in and take possession of the land, which Yahweh God of your fathers, hath given unto you?
4 প্রত্যেক বংশ থেকে তিনজন করে লোক নিযুক্ত করো। দেশটি পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খভাবে পরীক্ষা করার ও প্রত্যেকটি বংশের উত্তরাধিকার অনুসারে সেখানকার এক বর্ণনা লিখে আনার জন্য আমি তাদের সেখানে পাঠাব। পরে তারা আমার কাছে ফিরে আসবে।
Set forth for you three men for each tribe, —that I may send them, that they may arise—and go up and down in the land—and map it out as required for their inheritance, and come in unto me.
5 তোমরা দেশটিকে সাত ভাগে বিভক্ত করবে। যিহূদা দক্ষিণ দিকে তার এলাকায় থাকবে এবং উত্তর দিকে থাকবে যোষেফের বংশগুলি।
So shall they apportion it for themselves into seven parts, —Let, Judah, stay upon his boundary, on the south, and, the house of Joseph, stay upon their boundary, on the north,
6 দেশের সাতটি ভাগের বর্ণনা লিখে আনার পর, তোমরা সেগুলি এখানে আমার কাছে নিয়ে আসবে এবং আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর উপস্থিতিতে আমি তোমাদের জন্য গুটিকাপাতের দান চালব।
but, ye, shall map out the [rest of the] land, into seven parts, —and bring in [your descriptions] unto me, here, —then will I cast lots for you here, before Yahweh our God.
7 লেবীয়েরা অবশ্য, তোমাদের মধ্যে কোনও অংশ পাবে না, কারণ সদাপ্রভুর যাজকীয় সেবাকাজই হল তাদের অধিকার। আর গাদ ও রূবেণ বংশ এবং মনঃশির অর্ধেক বংশ জর্ডন নদীর পূর্বপাড়ে ইতিমধ্যেই তাদের উত্তরাধিকার লাভ করেছে। সদাপ্রভুর দাস মোশি তাদের তা দান করেছেন।”
For Levi hath no portion in your midst, for, the priesthood of Yahweh, is his inheritance, —and, Gad, and Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance, beyond the Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them.
8 লোকজন দেশের মানচিত্র তৈরি করার কাজে হাত লাগাতে না লাগাতেই যিহোশূয় তাদের নির্দেশ দিলেন, “তোমরা যাও ও দেশটি পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খভাবে পরীক্ষা করো এবং তার একটি বর্ণনা লিখে ফেলো। পরে আমার কাছে ফিরে এসো, এবং আমি এখানে এই শীলোতে, সদাপ্রভুর উপস্থিতিতে তোমাদের জন্য গুটিকাপাতের দান চালব।”
So the men arose, and went, —and Joshua commanded them who were going, to map out the land, saying—Take your journey and go up and down in the land, and map it out, and return unto me, and, here, will I cast lots for you before Yahweh, in Shiloh.
9 অতএব লোকেরা প্রস্থান করল ও সেই দেশের এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্তে ছড়িয়ে পড়ল। একটি গুটানো চামড়ার পুঁথিতে তারা এক-একটি নগর ধরে ধরে সাতটি ভাগে সেখানকার বর্ণনা লিখে নিল ও শীলোর শিবিরে যিহোশূয়ের কাছে ফিরে এল।
So the men went, and passed through the land, and mapped it out by cities, into seven parts, upon a scroll, —and came in unto Joshua, unto the camp, in Shiloh.
10 যিহোশূয় তখন শীলোতে সদাপ্রভুর উপস্থিতিতে তাদের জন্য গুটিকাপাতের দান চাললেন, এবং সেখানেই তিনি ইস্রায়েলীদের বংশ-বিভাগ অনুসারে তাদের জন্য সেই দেশটি বিতরণ করলেন।
And Joshua cast for them lots, in Shiloh, before Yahweh, —and Joshua there apportioned the land unto the sons of Israel, according to their portions.
11 গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে বিন্যামীন বংশের নামে গুটিকাপাতের প্রথম দান পড়ল। তাদের জন্য বরাদ্দ এলাকা যিহূদা ও যোষেফ বংশের মধ্যে পড়ল:
Then came up the lot of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, —and the boundary of their lot came out, between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.
12 উত্তর দিকে তাদের সীমানা জর্ডন নদী থেকে শুরু হয়ে, যিরীহোর উত্তর দিকের ঢাল বেয়ে পশ্চিমাভিমূখী হয়ে পার্বত্য প্রদেশের দিকে এগোলো এবং বেথ-আবনের মরুপ্রান্তরে বের হয়ে এল।
And so their boundary, on the north border, was from the Jordan, —and the boundary goeth up unto the side of Jericho on the north, and goeth up in the hill country, westward, and the extensions thereof are towards the wilderness of Beth-aven;
13 সেখান থেকে তা লূসের (অর্থাৎ, বেথেলের) দক্ষিণ দিকের ঢাল অতিক্রম করল এবং নিম্নতর বেথ-হোরোণের দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত পাহাড়ি এলাকায় অটারোৎ-অদ্দরে নেমে গেল।
and the boundary passeth over from thence towards Luz, to the side of Luz, southwards, the same, is Bethel, —and the boundary goeth down to Ataroth-addah, by the mountain that is on the south of Beth-horon the nether;
14 দক্ষিণ দিকে অবস্থিত বেথ-হোরোণের দিকে মুখ করে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা পাহাড় থেকে সীমানাটি পশ্চিমদিক ধরে দক্ষিণ দিকে বাঁক নিল এবং সেই কিরিয়ৎ-বালে (অর্থাৎ, কিরিয়ৎ-যিয়ারীমে) বের হয়ে এল, যা হল যিহূদার লোকজনের অধিকারভুক্ত একটি নগর। এই হল পশ্চিম সীমানা।
then turneth the boundary and goeth round the west border, southward, from the mountain which faceth Beth-horon, southward, and so the extensions thereof are unto Kiriath-baal—the same, is Kiriath-jearim, a city of the sons of Judah, —this, is the west border.

And, the border southward, is from the uttermost part of Kiriath-jearim, —and the boundary goeth out westward, yea it goeth out unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;
16 সীমানাটি নেমে গেল সেই পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে, যা রফায়ীম উপত্যকার উত্তরে অবস্থিত বিন-হিন্নোম উপত্যকার দিকে মুখ করে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। তা হিন্নোম উপত্যকার আরও নিচে নেমে গিয়ে যিবূষীয় নগরের দক্ষিণ দিকের ঢাল হয়ে ঐন-রোগেল পর্যন্ত গেল।
and the boundary goeth down to the uttermost part of the mountain which faceth the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the Vale of Giants, northward, —and descendeth the valley of Hinnom, unto the side of the Jebusite, southward, and then descendeth to En-rogel;
17 পরে তা উত্তর দিকে বাঁক নিয়ে, ঐন-শেমশে গেল ও সেই গলীলৎ পর্যন্ত গেল, যা অদুম্মীম গিরিখাতের দিকে মুখ করে দাঁড়িয়েছিল এবং পরে তা রূবেণের ছেলে বোহনের পাথরের কাছে নেমে গেল।
and it turneth on the north, and goeth out at En-shemesh, and goeth out unto Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, —and goeth down by the Stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;
18 সেখান থেকে তা বেথ-অরাবার উত্তর দিকের ঢালের দিকে গেল এবং আরও নিচে অরাবায় নেমে গেল।
and passeth along unto the side over against the Arabah, northward, —and goeth down toward the Arabah;
19 পরে তা বেথ-হগ্লার উত্তর দিকের ঢালের দিকে গিয়ে দক্ষিণ দিকে জর্ডন নদীর মোহানায়, মরুসাগরের উত্তর উপসাগরে বের হয়ে এল। এই হল দক্ষিণ সীমানা।
and the boundary passeth along unto the side of Beth-hoglah, northward, and so the extensions of the boundary are unto the bay of the Salt Sea, northward, unto the end of the Jordan, southward, —This, is the south boundary.
20 পূর্বদিকে জর্ডন নদীই সীমানা হল। চারিদিকে এই সীমানাগুলিই বিন্যামীনের সন্তানদের বিভিন্ন গোষ্ঠীর উত্তরাধিকার চিহ্নিত করল।
And, the Jordan itself, boundeth it as an eastward border. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, by the boundaries thereof round about, by their families.
21 গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে, বিন্যামীন বংশ এসব নগর লাভ করল: যিরীহো, বেথ-হগ্লা, এমক-কশিশ,
So then the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, by their families, are, —Jericho and Beth-hoglah, and Emekkeziz,
22 বেথ-অরাবা, সমারয়িম, বেথেল,
and Beth-arabah and Zemaraim, and Bethel,
23 অব্বীম, পারা, অফ্রা,
and Avvim and Parah and Ophrah,
24 কফর-অম্মোনী, অফ্নি, ও গেবা—বারোটি নগর ও সেগুলির সন্নিহিত গ্রামগুলি।
and Chephar-ammoni and Ophni, and Geba, —twelve cities, with their villages:
25 গিবিয়োন, রামা, বেরোৎ,
Gibeon and Ramah, and Beeroth,
26 মিস্পী, কফীরা, মোৎসা,
and Mizpeh and Chephirah, and Mozah,
27 রেকম, যির্পেল, তরলা,
and Rekem and Irpeel, and Taralah,
28 সেলা, এলফ, যিবূষীয় নগর (অর্থাৎ, জেরুশালেম), গিবিয়া ও কিরিয়ৎ—চোদ্দোটি নগর ও সেগুলির সন্নিহিত গ্রামগুলি। গোষ্ঠী অনুসারে এই হল বিন্যামীন বংশের উত্তরাধিকার।
and Zelah, Eleph, and the Jebusite, the same, is Jerusalem, Gibeath [and] Kiriath, fourteen cities, with their villages. This, is the inheritance of the song of Benjamin, by their families.
