যিহোশূয়ের বই 11

1 হাৎসোরের রাজা যাবীন যখন একথা শুনলেন, তখন তিনি মাদোনের রাজা যোববের কাছে, শিম্রোণের ও অক্‌ষফের রাজাদের কাছে,

And it was when heard Jabin [the] king of Hazor and he sent to Jobab [the] king of Madon and to [the] king of Shimron and to [the] king of Acshaph.

2 এবং পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে বসবাসকারী উত্তর দিকের রাজাদের কাছে, কিন্নেরতের দক্ষিণে অরাবায়, পশ্চিমী পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে ও আরও পশ্চিমে নাফোৎ-দোরে খবর পাঠালেন;

And to the kings who [were] from [the] north in the hill country and in the Arabah south of Kinnereth and in the Shephelah and on [the] heights of Dor from [the] west.

3 এছাড়াও পূর্ব ও পশ্চিমদিকের কনানীয়দের কাছে; পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের ইমোরীয়, হিত্তীয়, পরিষীয় ও যিবূষীয়দের কাছে; এবং হর্মোণের নিচের দিকের মিস্‌পা অঞ্চলে হিব্বীয়দের কাছেও তিনি খবর পাঠালেন।

The Canaanite[s] from [the] east and from [the] west and the Amorite[s] and the Hittite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Jebusite[s] in the hill country and the Hivite[s] under Hermon in [the] land of Mizpah.

4 তাঁরা তাঁদের সমগ্র সৈন্যদল এবং বিপুল সংখ্যক ঘোড়া ও রথ নিয়ে—সমুদ্রতীরের বালুকণার মতো বিশাল সৈন্যদল নিয়ে বেরিয়ে এলেন।

And they came out they and all armies their with them a people numerous like the sand which [is] on [the] shore of the sea for multitude and horse[s] and chariot[s] many very.

5 এসব রাজা সৈন্যদলগুলি একত্রিত করে ইস্রায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করার জন্য মেরোম জলাশয়ের কাছে শিবির স্থাপন করলেন।

And they gathered all the kings these and they came and they encamped together to [the] water of Merom to wage war with Israel.

6 সদাপ্রভু যিহোশূয়কে বললেন, “তুমি ওদের ভয় কোরো না, কারণ আগামীকাল এই সময়ে, আমি তাদের সবাইকে হত্যা করে ইস্রায়েলের হাতে সমর্পণ করব। তোমাকে তাদের ঘোড়াগুলির পায়ের শিরা কেটে ফেলতে হবে ও তাদের রথগুলি পুড়িয়ে দিতে হবে।”

And he said Yahweh to Joshua may not you be afraid because of them for tomorrow about the time this I [am] delivering up all of them slain before Israel horses their you will hamstring and chariots their you will burn with fire.

7 অতএব যিহোশূয় ও তাঁর সমগ্র সৈন্যদল অতর্কিতে মেরোম জলাশয়ের কাছে গিয়ে তাদের আক্রমণ করলেন,

And he came Joshua and all [the] people of war with him on them at [the] waters of Merom suddenly and they fell on them.

8 এবং সদাপ্রভু তাদের ইস্রায়েলের হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন। তাঁরা তাদের পরাজিত করলেন এবং মহাসীদোন, মিষ্রফোৎ-ময়িম ও পূর্বদিকে মিস্‌পা উপত্যকা পর্যন্ত এগিয়ে গিয়ে তাদের পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করে গেলেন, ও একজনকেও প্রাণে বাঁচতে দিলেন না।

And he gave them Yahweh in [the] hand of Israel and they struck down them and they pursued them to Sidon great and to Misrephoth Maim and to [the] valley of Mizpah east-wards and they struck down them until not he had left to them a survivor.

9 সদাপ্রভু যেমন নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন, যিহোশূয় তাদের প্রতি তেমনই করলেন: তিনি তাদের ঘোড়াগুলির পায়ের শিরা কেটে ফেললেন এবং তাদের রথগুলি পুড়িয়ে দিলেন।

And he did to them Joshua just as he had said to him Yahweh horses their he hamstrung and chariots their he burned with fire.

10 সেই সময় যিহোশূয় পিছনে ফিরে হাৎসোর নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনলেন এবং সেখানকার রাজার উপরে তরোয়াল চালিয়ে দিলেন। (এসব রাজ্যের মধ্যে হাৎসোর প্রধান ছিল)

And he turned back Joshua at the time that and he captured Hazor and king its he struck with the sword for Hazor before it [was] [the] head of all the kingdoms these.

11 সেখানে বসবাসকারী প্রত্যেকের উপরে তারা তরোয়াল চালিয়ে দিলেন। তাঁরা তাদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করলেন, তাদের মধ্যে শ্বাসবিশিষ্ট কাউকেই জীবিত রাখলেন না, এবং তিনি হাৎসোর নগরটিই পুড়িয়ে দিলেন।

And they struck every person who [was] in it to [the] mouth of [the] sword they totally destroyed [them] not it was left any breathing thing and Hazor he burned with fire.

12 যিহোশূয় এসব রাজকীয় নগর ও সেখানকার রাজাদের নিয়ন্ত্রণে এনে তাঁদের উপরে তরোয়াল চালিয়ে দিলেন। সদাপ্রভুর দাস মোশির আদেশানুসারে তিনি তাঁদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করলেন।

And all [the] cities of the kings these and all kings their he captured Joshua and he struck them to [the] mouth of [the] sword he totally destroyed them just as he had commanded Moses [the] servant of Yahweh.

13 তবুও শুধু যিহোশূয় যেটি পুড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন, সেই হাৎসোর ছাড়া, তাদের টিলাগুলির উপরে নির্মিত আর কোনো নগর তারা পোড়ায়নি।

Only all the cities which were standing on mounds their not it burned them Israel except Hazor to alone it he burned Joshua.

14 ইস্রায়েলীরা এসব নগরের সমস্ত লুন্ঠিত জিনিসপত্র ও গৃহপালিত পশুপাল নিজেদের জন্য বহন করে নিয়ে গেল, কিন্তু সব লোকজনকে সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস না করা পর্যন্ত তারা তাদের উপরে তরোয়াল চালিয়ে গেল, এবং শ্বাসবিশিষ্ট কাউকেও তারা জীবিত রাখেনি।

And all [the] booty of the cities these and the cattle they plundered for themselves [the] people of Israel only every man they struck to [the] mouth of [the] sword until had destroyed they them not they left any breathing thing.

15 সদাপ্রভু তাঁর দাস মোশিকে যেমন আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন, মোশিও যিহোশূয়কে তেমনই আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন, ও যিহোশূয় তা পালন করলেন; সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে যেসব আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন, যিহোশূয় তার কোনোটিই অসম্পূর্ণ রাখেননি।

Just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses servant his so he commanded Moses Joshua and so he did Joshua not he left undone anything from all that he had commanded Yahweh Moses.

16 অতএব যিহোশূয় সমগ্র এই দেশ: পার্বত্য প্রদেশ, সমগ্র নেগেভ, গোশনের সম্পূর্ণ অঞ্চল, পশ্চিমী পাহাড়ের পাদদেশগুলি, অরাবা এবং ইস্রায়েলের পর্বতগুলি ও সেগুলির পাদদেশগুলি,

And he took Joshua all the land this the hill country and all the Negev and all [the] land of Goshen and the Shephelah and the Arabah and [the] hill country of Israel and Shephelah its.

17 সেয়ীরের দিকে উঠে যাওয়া হালক পর্বত থেকে হর্মোণ পর্বতের নিচে অবস্থিত লেবানন উপত্যকার বায়াল-গাদ পর্যন্ত দখল করলেন। তিনি সেখানকার সব রাজাকে বন্দি করে তাদের হত্যা করলেন।

From the mountain Halak which goes up Seir and to Baal Gad in [the] valley of Lebanon under [the] mountain of Hermon and all kings their he captured and he struck them and he killed them.

18 দীর্ঘদিন ধরে যিহোশূয় এসব রাজার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ চালালেন।

Days many he did Joshua with all the kings these battle.

19 গিবিয়োনে বসবাসকারী হিব্বীয়রা ছাড়া, আর কোনও নগর সেই ইস্রায়েলীদের সঙ্গে মৈত্রীচুক্তি করেনি, যারা যুদ্ধে তাদের সবাইকে পরাজিত করেছিল।

Not it was a city which it made peace to [the] people of Israel except the Hivite[s] [the] inhabitants of Gibeon everything they took in battle.

20 কারণ স্বয়ং সদাপ্রভুই তাদের হৃদয় কঠোর করলেন, যেন তারা ইস্রায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ চালায় এবং তিনি তাদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করতে পারেন, দয়া না দেখিয়ে তাদের যেন নির্মূল করে ফেলেন, যেমনটি সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন।

For from with Yahweh - it was to strengthen heart their to meet the battle with Israel so as to totally destroy them to not to belong to them favor for so as to destroy them just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses.

21 সেই সময় যিহোশূয় গিয়ে পার্বত্য প্রদেশের অনাকীয়দের ধ্বংস করলেন: হিব্রোণ, দবীর ও অনাব থেকে, যিহূদার সমস্ত পার্বত্য প্রদেশ থেকে ও ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত পার্বত্য প্রদেশ থেকে। তাদের ও তাদের নগরগুলি যিহোশূয় সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করলেন।

And he came Joshua at the time that and he cut off the Anakites from the hill country from Hebron from Debir from Anab and from all [the] hill country of Judah and from all [the] hill country of Israel with cities their he totally destroyed them Joshua.

22 ইস্রায়েলী এলাকায় আর কোনো অনাকীয় অবশিষ্ট ছিল না; শুধুমাত্র গাজা, গাৎ ও অস্‌দোদে কিছু লোক অবশিষ্ট ছিল।

Not it was left Anakites in [the] land of [the] people of Israel only in Gaza in Gath and in Ashdod they remained.

23 অতএব যিহোশূয় সমগ্র দেশটি দখল করলেন, ঠিক যেমনটি সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে নির্দেশনা দিয়েছিলেন, এবং তাদের গোষ্ঠী-বিভাগ অনুসারে তিনি সেই দেশটি এক উত্তরাধিকাররূপে ইস্রায়েলকে দিলেন। পরে দেশে যুদ্ধবিরাম হল।

And he took Joshua all the land according to all that he had spoken Yahweh to Moses and he gave it Joshua to an inheritance to Israel according to divisions their to tribes their and the land it was at peace from war.
