যোহন 15
1 “আমিই প্রকৃত দ্রাক্ষালতা এবং আমার পিতা কৃষক।
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser.
2 আমার সঙ্গে যুক্ত প্রত্যেকটি শাখায় ফল না ধরলে, তিনি তা কেটে ফেলেন, কিন্তু যে শাখায় ফল ধরে তাদের প্রত্যেকটিকে তিনি পরিষ্কার করেন, যেন সেই শাখায় আরও বেশি ফল ধরে।
Every barren branch in me, he lops off; every fruitful branch he cleans by pruning, to render it more fruitful.
3 আমার বলা বাক্যের দ্বারা তোমরা ইতিমধ্যেই শুচিশুদ্ধ হয়েছ।
As for you, you are already clean, through the instructions I have given you.
4 তোমরা আমার মধ্যে থাকলে, আমিও তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকব। নিজে থেকে কোনো শাখা ফলধারণ করতে পারে না, দ্রাক্ষালতার সঙ্গে অবশ্যই সেটিকে যুক্ত থাকতে হবে। আমার সঙ্গে যুক্ত না থাকলে, তোমরাও ফলবান হতে পারো না।
Abide in me, and I will abide in you; as the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, no more can you, unless you abide in me.
5 “আমি দ্রাক্ষালতা, তোমরা সবাই শাখা। যে আমার মধ্যে থাকে এবং আমি যার মধ্যে থাকি, সে প্রচুর ফলে ফলবান হবে; আমাকে ছাড়া তোমরা কিছুই করতে পারো না।
I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in me, and in whom I abide, produces much fruit; for, severed from me, you can do nothing.
6 কেউ যদি আমার মধ্যে না থাকে, সে সেই শাখার মতো, যেটিকে বাইরে ফেলে দেওয়া হয় ও সেটি শুকিয়ে যায়। সেই শাখাগুলিকে তুলে নিয়ে আগুনে ফেলা হয় ও সেগুলি পুড়ে যায়।
If any man abide not in me, he is cast forth like withered branches, which are gathered for fuel, and burnt.
7 তোমরা যদি আমার মধ্যে থাকো এবং আমার বাক্য তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকে, তোমরা যা কিছুই প্রার্থনা করো, তা তোমাদের দেওয়া হবে।
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you may ask what you will, and it shall be granted you.
8 এতেই আমার পিতা মহিমান্বিত হন যে, তোমরা প্রচুর ফলে ফলবান হও, আর এর দ্বারাই প্রমাণিত হয় যে তোমরা আমার শিষ্য।
In this is my Father glorified, that you produce much fruit; so shall you be my disciples.
9 “পিতা যেমন আমাকে ভালোবেসেছেন, আমিও তেমন তোমাদের ভালোবেসেছি। তোমরা এখন আমার প্রেমে অবস্থিতি করো।
As the Father loves me, so do I love you: continue in my love.
10 তোমরা যদি আমার আদেশ পালন করো, তাহলে আমার প্রেমে অবস্থিতি করবে, যেমন আমি আমার পিতার আদেশ পালন করে তাঁর প্রেমে অবস্থিতি করছি।
If you keep my commandments, you shall continue in my love; as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love.
11 আমি তোমাদের একথা বললাম, যেন আমার আনন্দ তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকে এবং তোমাদের আনন্দ সম্পূর্ণ হয়।
I give you these admonitions, that I may continue to have joy in you, and that your joy may be complete.
12 আমি যেমন তোমাদের ভালোবেসেছি, তোমরা তেমনই পরস্পরকে ভালোবেসো, এই আমার আদেশ।
This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I love you.
13 বন্ধুদের জন্য যে নিজের প্রাণ সমর্পণ করে, তার চেয়ে মহত্তর প্রেম আর কিছু নেই।
No man has greater love than this, to lay down his life for his friends.
14 তোমরা যদি আমার আদেশ পালন করো, তাহলে তোমরা আমার বন্ধু।
You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.
15 আমি তোমাদের আর দাস বলে ডাকি না, কারণ একজন প্রভু কী করেন, দাস তা জানে না। বরং, আমি তোমাদের বন্ধু বলে ডাকি, কারণ আমার পিতার কাছ থেকে আমি যা কিছু জেনেছি, তা তোমাদের জানিয়েছি।
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his master will do: but I name you friends; for whatever I have learned from my Father, I impart to you.
16 তোমরা আমাকে মনোনীত করোনি, আমিই তোমাদের মনোনীত করেছি এবং ফলধারণ করবার জন্য নিযুক্ত করেছি—সেই ফল যেন স্থায়ী হয়—তাতে আমার নামে পিতার কাছে তোমরা যা কিছু প্রার্থনা করবে, তা তিনি তোমাদের দান করবেন।
It is not you who have chosen me; but it is I who have chosen you, and ordained you to go and bear fruit: fruit which will prove permanent, that the Father may give you whatsoever you shall ask him in my name.
17 আমার আদেশ এই: তোমরা পরস্পরকে প্রেম করো।
This I command you, that you love one another.
18 “জগৎ যদি তোমাদের ঘৃণা করে, তাহলে মনে রেখো যে, জগৎ প্রথমে আমাকেই ঘৃণা করেছে।
If the world hate you, consider that it hated me, before it hated you.
19 তোমরা যদি জগতের হতে, তাহলে জগৎ তোমাদের তার আপনজনের মতো ভালোবাসতো। তোমরা এ জগতের নও, বরং এ জগতের মধ্য থেকে আমি তোমাদের মনোনীত করেছি। তাই জগৎ তোমাদের ঘৃণা করে।
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, I having selected you from the world, the world hates you.
20 আমি তোমাদের কাছে যেসব কথা বলেছি, তা মনে রাখো: ‘কোনো দাস তার প্রভুর চেয়ে মহান নয়।’ তারা যখন আমাকে তাড়না করেছে, তখন তোমাদেরও তাড়না করবে। তারা আমার শিক্ষা মান্য করলে, তোমাদের শিক্ষাও মান্য করবে।
Remember what I said to you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have observed my word, they will also observe yours.
21 আমার নামের জন্য তোমাদের সঙ্গে তারা এরকম আচরণ করবে, কারণ আমাকে যিনি পাঠিয়েছেন, তারা তাঁকে জানে না।
But all this treatment they will give you on my account, because they know not him who sent me.
22 আমি যদি না আসতাম এবং তাদের সঙ্গে কথা না বলতাম, তাহলে তাদের পাপ হত না। কিন্তু এখন পাপের জন্য তাদের অজুহাত দেওয়ার উপায় নেই।
If I had not come, and spoken to them, they had not had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 যে আমাকে ঘৃণা করে, সে আমার পিতাকেও ঘৃণা করে।
He that hates me, hates my Father also.
24 যা কেউ করেনি, সেইসব কাজ যদি আমি তাদের মধ্যে না করতাম, তবে তাদের পাপ হত না। কিন্তু তারা এখন এসব অলৌকিক ঘটনা নিজেদের চোখে দেখেছে। তবুও তারা আমাকে, ও আমার পিতাকে ঘৃণা করেছে।
If I had not done among them such works as none other ever did, they had not had sin; but now they have seen them, and yet hated both me and my Father.
25 ‘কিন্তু তারা বিনা কারণে আমাকে ঘৃণা করেছে,’ তাদের বিধানশাস্ত্রে লিখিত এই বচন সফল করার জন্যই এসব ঘটেছে।
Thus they verify that passage in their law, "They hated me without cause."
26 “যাঁকে আমি পিতার কাছ থেকে পাঠাব, সেই সহায় যখন আসবেন, পিতার কাছ থেকে নির্গত সেই সত্যের আত্মা, তিনি আমার বিষয়ে সাক্ষ্য দেবেন।
But when the Advocate is come, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify concerning me.
27 আর তোমরাও আমার সাক্ষ্য হবে, কারণ প্রথম থেকেই তোমরা আমার সঙ্গে আছ।
And you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
