1 পরে ইয়োব সদাপ্রভুকে উত্তর দিলেন:
Then Iob answered the Lord, and sayd,
2 “আমি জানি যে তুমি সবকিছু করতে পার; তোমার কোনও অভিষ্ট খর্ব করা যায় না।
I knowe that thou canst doe all things, and that there is no thought hidde from thee.
3 তুমি জিজ্ঞাসা করলে, ‘এ কে যে জ্ঞান ছাড়াই আমার পরিকল্পনাগুলি ম্লান করে দিচ্ছে?’ নিশ্চয় আমি যা বুঝিনি, আমার জানার পক্ষে যা খুবই অদ্ভুত, তাই বলেছি।
Who is hee that hideth counsell without knowledge? therefore haue I spoken that I vnderstood not, euen things too wonderfull for me, and which I knew not.
4 “তুমি বললে, ‘এখন শোনো, আমি কথা বলব; আমি তোমাকে প্রশ্ন করব, ও তুমি আমাকে উত্তর দেবে।’
Heare, I beseech thee, and I will speake: I will demaunde of thee, and declare thou vnto me.
5 তোমার কথা আমি কানে শুনেছিলাম কিন্তু এখন আমি স্বচক্ষে তোমাকে দেখলাম।
I haue heard of thee by the hearing of the eare, but now mine eye seeth thee.
6 তাই নিজেকে আমি ঘৃণা করছি এবং ধুলোয় ও ছাইভস্মে বসে অনুতাপ করছি।”
Therefore I abhorre my selfe, and repent in dust and ashes.
7 ইয়োবকে এসব কথা বলার পর, সদাপ্রভু তৈমনীয় ইলীফসকে বললেন, “তোমার উপরে এবং তোমার দুই বন্ধুর উপরে আমি ক্রুদ্ধ হয়েছি, কারণ আমার দাস ইয়োবের মতো তোমরা আমার সম্পর্কে সত্যিকথা বলোনি।
Now after that the Lord had spoken these wordes vnto Iob, ye Lord also said vnto Eliphaz ye Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for yee haue not spoken of me the thing that is right, like my seruant Iob.
8 অতএব এখন তোমরা সাতটি বলদ ও সাতটি মেষ নিয়ে আমার দাস ইয়োবের কাছে যাও এবং নিজেদের জন্য হোমবলি উৎসর্গ করো। আমার দাস ইয়োব তোমাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করবে, ও আমি তার প্রার্থনা স্বীকার করব এবং তোমাদের মূর্খতা অনুসারে তোমাদের প্রতি আচরণ করব না। আমার দাস ইয়োবের মতো তোমরা আমার সম্পর্কে সত্যিকথা বলোনি।”
Therefore take vnto you nowe seuen bullockes, and seuen rammes, and go to my seruant Iob, and offer vp for your selues a burnt offring, and my seruant Iob shall pray for you: for I wil accept him, least I should put you to shame, because ye haue not spoken of me the thing, which is right, like my seruant Iob.
9 তাই তৈমনীয় ইলীফস, শূহীয় বিল্দদ এবং নামাথীয় সোফর তাই করলেন, যা সদাপ্রভু তাদের করার আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন; এবং সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবের প্রার্থনা স্বীকার করলেন।
So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord had saide vnto them, and the Lord accepted Iob.
10 ইয়োব তাঁর বন্ধুদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করার পর, সদাপ্রভু তাঁর অবস্থা ফিরিয়ে দিলেন এবং আগে তাঁর যে পরিমাণ ধনসম্পত্তি ছিল, তাঁকে তার দ্বিগুণ সম্পত্তি দিলেন।
Then the Lord turned the captiuitie of Iob, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gaue Iob twise so much as he had before.
11 ইয়োবের সব ভাইবোন এবং পূর্বপরিচিত সবাই তাঁর বাড়িতে এসে তাঁর সঙ্গে খাওয়াদাওয়া করলেন। সদাপ্রভু তাঁর জীবনে যেসব দুঃখদুর্দশা এনেছিলেন সেগুলির বিষয়ে তারা তাঁকে সান্ত্বনা দিলেন ও সহানুভূতি জানালেন, এবং তারা প্রত্যেকে তাঁকে একটি করে রুপোর টুকরো ও সোনার আংটি দিলেন।
Then came vnto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had bene of his acquaintance before, and did eate bread with him in his house, and had compassion of him, and comforted him for al the euil, that the Lord had brought vpon him, and euery man gaue him a piece of money, and euery one an earing of golde.
12 সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবের জীবনের প্রথম অবস্থার চেয়ে শেষ অবস্থাকে আরও বেশি আশীর্বাদযুক্ত করলেন। ইয়োব 14,000 মেষ, 6,000 উট, 1,000 জোড়া বলদ এবং 1,000 গাধির মালিক হলেন।
So the Lord blessed the last dayes of Iob more then the first: for he had foureteene thousand sheepe, and sixe thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand shee asses.
13 তার আরও সাত ছেলে ও তিন মেয়ে জন্মাল।
He had also seue sonnes, and three daughters.
14 তিনি তার প্রথম মেয়ের নাম দিলেন যিমীমা, দ্বিতীয়জনের নাম দিলেন কৎসীয়া এবং তৃতীয় জনের নাম দিলেন কেরণহপ্পূক।
And he called the name of one Iemimah, and the name of the seconde Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.
15 সারা দেশে কোথাও ইয়োবের মেয়েদের মতো সুন্দরী মেয়ে খুঁজে পাওয়া যেত না, এবং তাদের বাবা তাদের দাদাদের সঙ্গে তাদেরও উত্তরাধিকার দিলেন।
In all the lande were no women found so faire as the daughters of Iob, and their father gaue them inheritaunce among their brethren.
16 এরপর, ইয়োব আরও 140 বছর বেঁচেছিলেন; চার পুরুষ পর্যন্ত তিনি তাঁর সন্তানদের ও তাদের সন্তানদেরও দেখলেন।
And after this liued Iob an hundreth and fourtie yeres, and sawe his sonnes, and his sonnes sonnes, euen foure generations.
17 এইভাবে ইয়োব বৃদ্ধ ও পূর্ণায়ূ মানুষরূপে মারা গেলেন।
So Iob dyed, being old, and full of dayes.
